Mission: Defense of Fort Quinox
Mission status: Success
General,
Last night we went to our mission to defend the Fort Quinox against the Republics invasion.
The Sergeants of each squads present were arguing over tactics and how to best approach the defense.
According to the two other Sergeants the last Captain his orders of defense had held off the Republic Offensive so far so we continued in that manner with tactical retreats to the three rings at the Fortress its front gate.
The start of the battle came quick, Republic troops poured in over the bridge. Heavy fire of turrets on our end made it a perfect killing zone. We managed to scatter the Republic Troopers and cut them off from their forces on the bridge, taking the ones scatterd in the center of the battle field out of the battle. Private Wellsow and Corporal Hunter were the Sniper team and they performed admirably, taking out those on the run and taking out their attempts to breach from a SpecForce Team of the Republic.
The Republic had an entire army at their back, troops kept pouring in, a tidal wave. Suddenly we saw it, a tank, heavily armoured. The rocket launchers fired but they were re-directed, a Jedi joined their fight. I orderd the Sniper team to find that Jedi, and low and behold, after a while Private Wellsow did a masterfull job and shot down the Jedi in question.
By this point the tank had already fired on our emplacement, weakend our support structures, the rockets seem to not phase its movements or the armour. It advanced, along with more troops, they overwelmed us with sheer numbers. We feel back to the second ring, dealt damage, we kept going no matter what, we would not lose this Fortress.
We got flanked by a SpecForce team on the right, Private Naveil was injured by them, he also did a commendable job firing the turret and decimating the Republic Forces. Despite their mass in superior numbers, we thinned them out, they sufferd as much as we did.
The tank approached, we fell back to the gate, defending it from a higher ventage point, we kept going no breaks. Corporal Hunter had a Ion Grenade left, and once the tank was in sight, it was taken out by both the Ion and other grenades. At this point the Republic admitted defeat, retreated. Their army decimated, low in numbers.
We sufferd heavy casualties, but the Fort never fell.
I want to add that Private Wellsow, Nachemi and Gary deserve a ribbon for their courage and how they handled them selves on the battlefield. Perhaps even a Recommendation of Promotion for Private Wellsow for his actions against the Jedi that saw us able to defeat this literal army. Specialist Nachemi, for providing Medical Aid in the heat of battle, exposing herself to save the lives of her fellow Soldiers.
