Mission Report: Defence of the City - Aurek Squad's Departure

Upon the orders, and request, of Lord Kalkoran for available Black Ops personnel
Once we arrived we split the two of us up, Corporal Quinton taking command of ‘Besh Squad’ and I took command of ‘Aurek Squad’. Aurek squad consisted of Eight men in total as well as Besh Squad.
I took Aurek Squad down the elevators after setting up a mountable turret and a speeder for emergencies with other defensive positions, but in the end they became invalid. I positioned my men to initiate a Tactic known as ‘Defence-In-Depth’ creating holes for the men under my command to retreat to once it was ample time. Setting up mines and readying the rest of the Squad to defend this position. It was at this point Specialist Hunter arrived, which she ended up being a great service to the mission as she held back multiple Republic troops with a flamethrower on her own.
Once the fighting began there were around Twenty strong in the opposition, most likely to try and soften the defences up for their next strike team to breeze through unhindered. Aurek Squad and Corporal Hunter were vital in fending off the first wave. With a mixture of mines, flamethrower and turrets we were able to wipe out this Platoon out completely. However, the second Platoon of Republic troopers is where it went downhill. We were out-gunned and out-manned when it came to this force, this platoon consisted of Forty men and two tanks with one Anti-Vehicular weapon and no equipment to halt or out-right destroy them.
After seeing this through a pair of Macro-binoculars I put in the coordinates but changed plans and sent the bombing run to Corporal Quinton instead, sending my own coordinates after.
One tank was damaged but still functioned as they had moved by the time the bombers got there but sent around Sixteen troops down to an early grave. With little choice and time I gained an Ion grenade and used it to tall the perfectly fine tank and ordered the turrets to fire upon it, destroying it after a short while, but in the process we lost a turret via a tank round. The explosion from the turret caused debris to fly around our defences, causing us to evade. Finally Specialist Srano came with another Rocket Launcher. I ordered him to shoot it in between the remaining group of soldiers as I fired my own at the damaged tank, also blowing that up. Specialist Hunter, who was previously burning the Republic troops alive, hopped onto the turret to help with the clean-up. Corporal Quinton at this point also came to help, the remaining efforts of Corporal Quinton, Specialist Hunter and myself cleared out the rest. The rest of Aurek Squad were sadly wiped out due to this Republic push and our poor equipment.
Casualties: 8 of 10.
Enemy Casualties: 100%
Mission Success: 100%
Defences are intact, with the exception of a singular turret.
There were heavy Casualties but we still defended the position, no matter the cost. I’ve already took the liberty of sending regards to the men’s families and the recognition they deserve.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
