Mission Report: There Is Seldom A Single Wave

#1
Soldiers Lost

I feel it was a bit of an honor to see Korriban again, my second journey here. Apprentices Zotam and Nivalis, as well as Acolyte Kaladius, were also on this expedition, seeking out a strange site of Sith Runes. The sand, the huge stone statues carved ages ago... I've been a lot of places in the Galaxy, but no place has such grand structures as anything the Sith have put their effort forth into, on any of the worlds they have lived on.

We were prepared for Pelko Bugs, but coming to a wall of rubble in our way, we detected things under the sand. To our surprise, it was a group of Imperials with blades and guns - we took out most, interrogating one who spoke of 'The Mother', implying someone was chained and needed to be released. Sorcery stuff. Soldiers so far gone, they had no identifiers of whom they may have been. Just more unprepared soldiers lost to the sands.

We found our site, a cracked mural with runes scattered about near a tomb entrance. Judging by the layout, we surmised something may be contained at the site, a source of power... possibly this 'Mother'. And then our tomb door burst open, a K'lor'slug Brood Mother coming out with her skittering children. The battle was fierce - the Mother tried to eat us at first, Zotam and myself retaliating. It managed to scatter us, though, the brood picking at each of us as the Mother smashed her tail about.

I went for a gambit, having the Acolyte cover me - detaching one of my Flamethrower tanks, having seen how well these things were burning, we antagonized the Mother and had her come towards us. Chucking it in, and shooting it with my pistol, the ensuing explosion knocked us all about... and took off the top half of our Brood Mother. There were mostly some superficial burns on behalf of the Acolyte and Apprentice Zotam for it, but otherwise, a battle well-fought, especially with these things being super venomous.

Final Verdict

With the sand settled, we were able to get good footage and images of all the runes, as was our objective. Additionally, Apprentice Zotam seems to have picked up far more with Sorcery, which seems to be his business and that of the Sith. For myself, I'm putting in for 'The Bane of The K'lor'slugs' Medal, if anything, given how many I went through. Not my first bug experience, or my last. Nonetheless, this Report will also be open to Apprentice Zotam for a while, so he can retrieve anything attached.

For the Empire, for Darth Horuset,
Sergeant Thymius '"Savior" Rees

[attached to the report is bodycam footage of the planet and of the battles ensuing with jabbering ex-imperials, and the battle with k'lor'slugs, as well as footage of the runes and mural site.]

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
