Mission Report: An Ancient Trap

#1
The Men of Stone

A plot of revenge centuries... millennia in the making. An ancient feud between Lord Elkar and Tennus Horuset, trained by Lord Kallig and Tulak Hord respectively, it seems, was the source of our troubles. Lots of Dark Side mess, a temple that endured battle long, long ago... a battlefield littered with old bones and defunct droids.

Our forces were responding to a seeming Distress Call, encoded, garbled, and quite old, coming from Rhelg, an old Sith holy world. We walked through the battlefield, myself and Corporal Gary Naveil surveying the area with Probe Droids. Upon everyone going in, or mostly, a barrier was erected, one that burned harshly if anyone tried to exit, like a fog. Inside, the Lord, only appearing in his 50s or so, accused us of being sent by a Horuset far before our time, a continuation of their battles back then. We were attacked by living stone statues, at least ten inside and two outside (found later to have engaged with those left behind).

While the melee was anything but clean, the Corporal was knocked out in the ensuing chaos, Acolytes injured, and I received a hard blow to the gut, but my armor protected me, thankfully. These are Sorcery or Alchemy creations, from what I remember, and I've had to face them before - a lot of weapons or techniques didn't work, but electricity from Shock or Lightning by the Sith seemed to work wonders where lightsabers did not. At the end of it, Lord Elkar finally realized something was wrong.

Letting us leave, asking us to leave him to contemplate, we made our egress to report to our Dark Lord on her curiosity. One thing of note is that he came from an era when all the Sith Order were of one race, it seems... roughly two thousand years, if he knew Tulak Hord.

Final Verdict

I'm not going to recommend any medals or such for myself or the other Corporal - this was barely much to warrant it. The Acolytes were patched up by myself, and I approved Acolyte Khassarn for some extra repair cloth for his robes, since I needed his sleeve to make a sling to support a broken wrist. All relevant data on the mission is attached, and forces have been dispatched in secret to keep a secure landing pad, or to serve as communication if the enigmatic Elkar wishes to speak again. The location and mission are under wraps for now, pending Horuset's further investigation into the matter.

For the Empire, for Darth Horuset,
Corporal Thymius '"Savior" Rees

[attached to the report is bodycam footage of the temple and of the battle ensuing with stone statues, as well as mapping data for inside and outside the temple as taken by several probe droids.]

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
