Public Call for Priority Besh Team Assembly

The file would open up to display a small women, bulked up by armour and muscle. She dresses all in the warrior black with an unmarked mask without etches, sharp claws array themselves on her knuckles. Esme Roi puts her hands at ease behind her back.

“Even the slaves have statues. These slaves certainly wont, with their treason, rebelling against their rightful Masters the Sith. They have fled, reeeallly foolishly into the desert from the Echoy'la Slave Facility, with no hope to escape they will starve and return, but a growing contingent of the more desert acclimatized species are making a stronger nomadic push than the rest. Many will likely die, with the others that try to follow them.

Those that follow are following strange marks that our men have been unable to decipher. We think they are led by a  Weequay Priest... of sorts without a name.

You will pretend to be slaves, infiltrate a small band of these Rebels on the outskirts and follow them to their camp, once properly located, spring the trap and take as many back as you can, oh, and uh... probably should execute the leaders if we don't want another riot."

With that, the holo would flicker and fade from view, allowing the viewer to access the rest of the information provided.

SUBJECT: After Action Report, Priority Besh: Slave Catching

INTRODUCTION:

Apprentice Emlar Racta took command of this operation. The main focus of this operation was to infiltrate a slave group and determine their new rendezvous / gathering point following the facility breakout. Capture or kill runaway slaves, and execute the treasonous leadership that led them on this revolt. Secondary objectives included determining the markings left behind by their defacto leader and learning how to decipher them and trace them ourselves.
Summary:

The following is regarding the operation itself.

Deployed Location: Echoy'la

Deployed Personnel:
-Apprentice Emlar Racta
-Apprentice Syllel

Duration of Deployment: [13/11/2022]

Details of Operation:

We deployed far out into the dunes, and pushed on North-East bound to intercept a potential slave group that was still segregated. We successfully met up with said group, integrated within it and were welcomed as one of theirs. One of the slaves succumbed to the journey and was buried, with an impromptu funeral. Several hours later, once the sun began to set - we set out to follow the trail. The leader of this group, a human named 'Christian', divulged to us that the patterned markings are shaped arrow-esque to throw off imperial pursuers, and instead that the real indicators for this 'trail' were small marks, indents, which one traces with their finger. This symbol upon one of the rocks is what is meant to guide the runaway slaves to the next RV.

During this journey, one of the slaves, a pregnant woman, had to go into labor in the middle of the desert. Deciding that she was too frail to survive otherwise and proving to be a hindrance to an already dwindling group; I chose to accelerate her demise by applying a Wound. Apprentice Syllel interrupted and chose to mentally assail me through the Force, in defiance of my leadership as the operation leader, and in defense of a treasonous runaway slave.
Regardless, this interference proved insignificant to my efforts and the woman perished, yet the baby lived. Apprentice Syllel took it with her and we continued on the trail.

This trail led us to an encampment, as we would learn, an abandoned mining outpost that was turned into a rendezvous for the runaway slaves. Several - six, to be precise, Mandalorian affiliates with unkept gear, varying from rifles, blasters, pistols and blunt melee weapons (maces, bats) were acting as security for the camp. A large Houk, sporting a scavenged imperial chestplate was seemingly the second-in-command, and 'welcomed' new stragglers into the camp, aided by a malformed twi'lek with three lekku. By our accounts, the mass of slaves seemed to number around sixteen to twenty upon closer inspection, most of them proving to be only representatives of species well equipped to survive the harsh desert landscape.

While inside the camp, Apprentice Syllel was escorted along with the baby within the building, and I stood outside with one of the survivors of our infiltrated group, a Zabraki slave by the name of 'Acklay'. This slave and I orbited the perimeter as I conducted my reconnaissance of their numbers and positions, before we approached the presumed-second-in-command, the Houk, in an attempt to secure an audience with the Weequay chief. The hopes of this were that I would be able to isolate myself to one witness, and the target - the leader of this revolt and runaway rabble; to assassinate him.

However, this effort was halted as in the middle of our conversation with the Houk, the camp burst into panic as screams alerted the rest that the "Empire is Coming". This is when Apprentice Syllel came out in a hurry and called me out to find me, before ushering us away from the camp to its boundaries and signalling for the reinforcements. The zabraki slave 'Acklay' followed and submitted to me, and has since been taken into custody without resistance. I propose he is interrogated thoroughly and cooperation could be expected as he has self-identified as a 'loyalist'. Let him fill any gaps of our knowledge that we may not yet be aware of.  The shuttle and newly-arrived imperial personnel helped us secure the remaining stragglers within the camp, those that had not escaped or succumbed to their own injuries. The leadership is presumed to have escaped, as a detonation was triggered in the main building of the abandoned mining post, and I believe it was done to cover the escape route of those in charge, and are likely navigating through unsupervised tunnels in an effort to relocate.

Comments:
The cause for this alarm is without a clear cause at this time. As neither me nor Apprentice Syllel had called in for reinforcements nor had any located this encampment beforehand. It is my thesis that Apprentice Syllel warned them of the imminent danger in an effort to upstage me and my methods for tackling this mission. This is derived based on her own very contradicting statements regarding the matter that were divulged during our debrief and her repeated showcase throughout deployment that she would willingly defy me and interfere for the benefit of treasonous slaves.
As such, for a complete viewing of the objective facts behind this operation, a compiled viewing of this report of mine, and hers, followed by thorough questioning of the captured slaves would be necessary to uncover the truth of the matter.

INTRODUCTION:
Mission Status: Faliure
The slave revolt leaders, along with a portion of the slaves escaped and their trail was lost.
Summary:
The following is regarding the operation itself.
Deployed Location: Echoy'la
Deployed Personnel:
Apprentice Emlar (LEAD)
Apprentice Syllel
Duration of Deployment: [13/11/2022]
Details of Operation:
We arrived on a shuttle out in the desert a bit away from a small encampment and attempted to blend in with the local slave population, posing as escaped slaves. Upon meeting the group we introduced ourselves and met the others. I chose a common enough name and Emlar chose to utilize her master's name: Hazlem. Unfortunately, one of the slaves, a human teenager named John, had passed away. We all pitched in to help dig a grave, and in an effort to blend in, so did I. Apprentice Emlar thought her efforts were better suited by not participating.

After that we got underway. I attempted to mingle and socialize and convinced Christian to demonstrate how he was able to lead the group, under the premise of being able to assist in the act and he demonstrated how certain rocks and other desert surfaces were manipulated in order to lead others to the right spots. Of course these trails do not go in a standard line and during the course of our travels we doubled back and made rather odd movements, likely to ensure that any following the trail would appear lost and therefore confuse trackers. It is, all things considered, a rather clever system crafted by a devoted survivalist to ensure that only those who understand the markings can find their encampments.

While underway Mara began going into labor and, being the only one with a bit of experience in childcare I began to direct the slaves in how to best ease the process. Emlar decided that the woman's continued existence was unnecessary and began to, rather haphazardly, use the force to kill the woman. I attempted to intercede, knowing that a new mother would be more advantageous to help us blend into social groups and serve as a sort of 'display of character' to ensure our intentions were unimpeachable. Unfortunately Mara passed away, likely from Emlar's actions so in order to maintain the facade I took up care of the child and we continued further.

We arrived at a lightly guarded camp that was being overseen mostly by slaves in stolen kit and Mandalorian affiliates. Due to the mother being absent I was forced to proceed to the nursing area and find a surrogate parent, limiting our ability to scout the area to only one set of eyes. While otherwise indisposed it seems our arrival had not gone unnoticed by the camp and news had already spread of our names. This should have been fine, however a call for alarm soon began to rise. Apparently a cathar among the slave's numbers recognized the name and a panic had started. I rushed to find Emlar, still going as Hazlem, and the two of us, alongside the zabrak slave named Acklay made our retreat.

While we escaped the building they were using as shelter collapsed from an internal detonation. This likely meant that they were using underground tunnels to ferry slaves and supplies to other locations and at the cause of alarm the tunnel was collapsed to prevent others from following them. We were able to round up a few leftover slaves but other than that most had likely escaped.

Comments:
Apprentice Emlar would benefit from a remind that when infiltrating a group of people the main objective is to blend amongst their number and to seem as one of them. The more friendly, helpful, and willing you are the less likely you are to be ousted from said group. Apprentice Emlar was none of these things and if any of the slaves had been even half aware of what a sith was or how the force is used they would have immediately recognized her and what she did, thus jeopardizing the mission.
In the future I would recommend that it is impressed upon all members of the mission on how to blend in among non-imperial forces if we are to infiltrate them again and perhaps learn of the expected social niceties that most of the galaxy adheres to, if not for simple common decency then to play our parts as infiltrators better.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
