Sith Houses of the Horuset Powerbase

The houses of the Sith Empire, despite the government itself being centralised, has strong overtures of feudal architecture left over as remnants from the old Sith Empires and the way of the Sith culture from many years before the current setting. As a result, it's often commonplace in RP for Sith houses to become and take vassals, to exist as a family unit and compete for splendour as that same family unit. This document outlines a 'resurgent' form of the ways of old that has been structured to work within the Horuset Powerbase ICly. This structure is currently made to be centred around houses within the Empire that have sith blood within them, so is not pureblood exclusive and can therefore extend to any family unit that has sith blood running through it's veins.
Attached to the file would be a prerecorded holomessage that when selected would play. Trakaton's form would blaze to life in the classic display of a holographic transmission, the electric blue tinge accenting some features while diminishing others. Trakaton would be stood with his arms folded across his armoured chest, the cloak hanging loosely from his shoulders and the custom-fit plates of the armour looking as comfortable as an embrace. The scar on the right side of his face would be barely visible, his head ever so slightly turned to the right and he'd speak with a tone of authority:
"Vassals, and the taking of them have been a common concept within many iterations of the Sith Empire throughout history. As far back as Adas and as recent as our current generation, Sith Houses have been at the forefront of politics, might and influence within their respective regimes. From the inception of the Horuset Powerbase, it has been at it's core a coalition of Sith Houses centred on the Horuset Bloodline and it has always been a centre for politics, whether one family or another will gain prominence within the Powerbase.
The current Sith Empire, is not feudal of nature. The central government operates with full authority, and there are few who are not part of the governing apparatus in one way or another. With the military as engrained into the Empire as it is, with every single citizen enlisted in one way or another, old ways of an Empire built on a feudal regime are gone. The traditions of such history however, linger on. Families still coalesce around their bloodlines and who their ancestors are and after decades of war against our ancient enemy, there are many Sith Houses that rose to prominence and just as many that have been obliterated from the history books entirely.
Drawing from history, from tradition itself, I have rebuilt a structure of old. One that can be used within the Horuset Powerbase and projected outwards across our allies. Sith Houses have taken vassals for as long as they have existed, yet recent history has never cemented what a vassalship truly means. The benefits of being a vassal have rarely been explored, nor the constraints or what the overlord could expect from it. Too often, was it used as a hammer, a threat, that an entire line would be vassalized if they stepped wrongly. Taking new vassals, has never been both interpreted positively by the new vassal and simultaneously had a positive outcome for the vassalised house in the history of the Horuset Powerbase. This changes, with this resurgence of tradition.
A tiered system, introducing six different contracts that can occur between houses within the Horuset Powerbase. A clear path forwards, to ascend your family line up the ranks and rebuild old grandeur or forge anew a name that will not be forgotten for millennia to come. Through such, we will see a resurgence in houses that have long grown stagnant, rebuild the strength of the blood of the Sith and harden the endurance of the Pureblood species once again. The tiers both represent where a House will be in their strength and ability, and a contract they will have with the house above them. No house, will be forced into these contracts, as they are ultimately a firm investment into the lesser house and a way for them to grow upwards.."
And as soon as it had started, the brief recording was done. Following, the file would go into detail concerning the Sith Houses of the Horuset Powerbase, and the tiered system associated with them.
The recognised Sith Houses of the Horuset Powerbase:
The Tiers of Advancement for Sith Houses:
"Organised by their tier, their official name in the language of the Sith and their basic translation, such are the tiers that will become the foundation of houses within the Powerbase. Increasing in autonomy and independence as the tiers go higher, this tiered structure of vassals sees an initial building up phase for the vassalised as they find their feet and are fed resources from the overlord house alongside offered protection in the form of troops for the vassals assets that are ultimately still beholden to the overlord. This does not mean that if a member of the vassalised house missteps in the ways of the Sith, that the overlord is expected to ignore the detriment. These contracts are from house to house, blood to blood. A person within is still a Sith and is not exempt from other rulings because of these tiers. As the middle tiers are reached, this feeding of resources begins to switch as the vassalised begins producing resources themselves.
The first four tiers, all have the contract giver, acting as an overlord of the contract receiver. Such is a typical overlord - vassal relation, with one being clearly subservient to the other. The fifth tier, sees the once vassal ascend above being a vassal to their once overlord, and they are now considered ‘Doru’, meaning that while they pay homage, defer to the primary House of Horuset and offer resources towards the collective good of the Powerbase, they are no longer considered a vassal. They will still maintain an ongoing contract with their once overlord. At the sixth tier, the house is considered a pillar of the Horuset Powerbase and while they will defer to the primary House of Horuset and still have an ongoing contract, they are now considered one of the houses that without which, the Horuset Powerbase as a whole would suffer. They are not vassalised to the primary house, but act as a federation of houses that House Horuset is the primary of, that makes up the Horuset Powerbase at it’s highest levels."
Requirements: To start on the road to building a Sith House with the backing of an overlord, one must first have at least a pair of people within the potential holder’s house itself. A single person is not a house, they are ultimately a powerbase or a sphere within the Horuset Powerbase even if they hold a grand name. As such, contracts are intended for houses and not single people, a single person household must seek out others who would wish to be brought into their line, or see their line grow from breeding new members into it before an overlord should consider offering a potential holder, a Zilina Contract. Likewise, a Zilina Contract is only suited for those houses that have members, have ambition, but have nothing but the dirt around them. Either a house fallen from grace or a house that is beginning it’s first steps towards grandeur.
Expectations: The overlord is expected to offer resources and soldiers to the Zilina, under the condition that the Zilina works for them. Tasks suited towards the overlord or to benefit the Powerbase as a whole are expected to be forthcoming throughout, with the overlord just as invested in the building of the Zilina as the Zilina are in themselves. Likewise the Zilina are expected to be searching for ways to build themselves up, whether reclaiming what was lost or building for the first time. A focus is on resource production, seeing the Zilina find their feet and use the resources that the overlord is offering, to begin to produce resources themselves.
Factors:- Resources go from the Overlord to the Zilina. Whether material or otherwise, is spoken of at the initial ceremony.
- Troops loyal to the Overlord go to the Zilina’s assets for patrols and protection as they are founded.
- The potential Zilina must have at least two members.
- The Zilina is focused exclusively on finding ways to produce resources, using the resources they are given to build the infrastructure necessary to manage this.
- The Zilina, cannot conduct diplomacy with other houses save their overlord.
- Once the Zilina has resource production to a point that they are self-sustainable, they are ready for the next tier.
Requirements: A Kitfi Contract is suited for Sith Houses that have either already found an overlord through a Zilina contract, or are already able to produce resources but have no way to protect them from excursions by other parties. Like the Zilina, Kitfi requires that the holder has at least two within members, but unlike it’s predecessor it is expected that the potential Kitfi Holder has already managed to become self-sustainable in terms of resources. Self sustainability means that if the holder was independent of all obligations, they would be able to maintain a living standard by selling what they produce to buy what they need. A continued ambition is needed, houses that slow in their momentum will be discarded entirely.
Expectations: The overlord is expected to continue offering resources and soldiers to the Kitfi, under the expectation that the Kitfi, while now self-sustainable, will be able to use those resources towards expansion of what they have already built as a foundation. Likewise, the Kitfi is not yet expected to be able to field their own soldiers, and thus the overlord will continue to offer them soldiers to protect their assets. At such a point, the Kitfi is expected to search for ways to get soldiers of their own, to replace the soldiers that the overlord has offered them as protection now that they are able to self-sustain themselves in monetary and resource terms.
Factors:- Resources go from the Overlord to the Kitfi. Whether material or otherwise, is spoken of at the initial or renewal ceremony.
- Troops loyal to the Overlord go to the Kitfi’s assets for patrols and protection as they are founded.
- The potential Kitfi must have at least two members.
- The Kitfi is focused exclusively on finding ways to get their own soldiers. Whether this is patronising an Imperial Academy or seeking out a particular battalion for a transfer.
- The Kitfi, cannot conduct diplomacy with other houses save their overlord.
- Once the Kitfi has soldiers of their own, they are ready for the next tier.
Requirements: A Tejanaga Contract is suited for Sith Houses that have either already found an overlord through a Kitfi contract, or are already able to produce resources and have a small garrison at a self-sustainable level. Like the Kitfi, Tejanaga requires that the holder has at least two within members, but unlike it’s predecessor it is expected that the potential Tejanaga has already managed to become self-sustainable in terms of resources and soldiers. Self sustainability means that if the holder was independent of all obligations, they would be able to maintain a living standard by selling what they produce to buy what they need and protect their assets.
Expectations: Such is the final contract where the overlord will be offering resources to the holder. The Tejanaga is already self-sustainable, but if left to their own devices would not have the necessary momentum to grow at a constant and steady pace. The Overlord will still be giving the Tejanaga resources and soldiers, both now being used specifically towards the sustainable expansion of the holder’s resource production. Throughout this contract, the overlord will start decreasing the amount of resources sent to the holder, with the expectation that by the end of the contract the Tejanaga will not only be self sustainable in terms of resources, but now able to feed back to their overlord and contribute towards them instead of being reliant on their overlord. As such, the focus of the Tejanaga is sustainable growth of their already existing resource production and once completed and the holder is no longer reliant on the overlord for resources, they gain their first degree of autonomy.
Factors:- Resources go from the Overlord to the Tejanaga. Whether material or otherwise, is spoken of at the initial or renewal ceremony. These resources decline in quantity throughout the contract, as the Tejanaga gains the ability to grow on their own.
- Troops loyal to the Overlord go to the Tejanaga’s assets for patrols and protection as they are founded.
- The potential Tejanaga must have at least two members.
- The Tejanaga is focused exclusively on the sustainable expansion of their already existing resource infrastructure. Whether new mining sites, now routes for slaving or more factories for producing, it will be a sustainable and not sudden expansion.
- The Tejanaga, can now conduct diplomacy of their own while informing their overlord of intent and outcome
- Once the Tejanaga has the ability to sustainably create expansions of their own resource gathering network, they are ready for the next tier.
Requirements: An Alijansen Contract is suited for Sith Houses that have either already found an overlord through a Tejanaga contract, or are already able to produce and expand resource operations and have a small garrison at a self-sustainable level. Like all prior contracts, Alijansen requires that the holder has at least two within members. To be considered Alijansen, the holder must be capable of their own resource expansion and be sending resources to their Overlord as tribute. Self sustainability in soldiers is necessary, though the Overlord will provide further soldiers as resource expansions take place that necessitate more garrisons.
Expectations: Such is the final contract where the overlord will be offering troops to the holder. The Alijansen is already capable of resource self sustainability and expansion, is already self-sustainable on troop numbers but will soon fall behind on it’s ability to upkeep troops if it keeps expanding it’s resource holdings. As a result, the Overlord will still be giving troops to the Alijansen, but such a number will decline throughout the length of the contract as the holder moves towards being able to sustainably expand their own number of imperial troops. The idea of such is that by the end of the contract, the holder’s own troops will be able to be included in the 142nd Army Division of the Horuset Powerbase, with some number of the troops able to be used as part of the Powerbase’s next deployments. The focus of the Alijansen is specifically on sustainable growth of the number of their soldiers, focusing on retainment and ambitious SCOs who will bring soldiers to heel and ensure that a garrison duty does not turn into a backwater assignment with no prospects. Further autonomy is gained, being able to conduct diplomacy and only being bound to inform the Overlord of the outcome alongside now having a seat at the table of Sith Houses within the Horuset Powerbase.
Factors:- Resources go from the Alijansen to the overlord now that the Alijansen is self sustainable and capable of resource expansion on their own. What resources are offered to the overlord is spoken of at the initial or renewal ceremony.
- Troops loyal to the Overlord go to the Alijansen’s assets for patrols and protection, the number of troops declines throughout the contract as they are replaced with soldiers loyal to the Alijansen until none remain.
- The potential Alijansen must have at least two members.
- The Alijansen is focused exclusively on gaining further soldiers to enable them to protect future holdings they may acquire alongside being able to use those soldiers to assist the Powerbase through it’s incorporation into the 142nd Division.
- The Alijansen can now conduct diplomacy of their own while informing their overlord of the outcome.
- The Alijansen now has a seat at the table of Sith Houses within the Horuset Powerbase and is expected to politic towards their own betterment with others at the table.
- Once the Alijansen has the ability to sustainably expand and replace their reserves of soldiers, they are ready for the next tier.
Requirements: A Doru House of the Horuset Powerbase is one that is already able to produce and expand resource operations and have enough troops to cover those expansions and their own offensive operations. Like all prior contracts, Doru requires that the holder has at least two within members. To be considered Doru, the holder must be capable of their own resource expansion and be sending resources to their Primary as tribute. Likewise they are expected to be able to maintain their own discipline and soldiers with no assistance required from their Primary. As such, the Doru is considered autonomous.
Expectations: The Doru is already capable of expanding their resource production and seeing such matters protected with soldiers of their own. As a result, the Doru is now entirely focused on furthering their own influence within the Horuset Powerbase and amongst the other Sith Houses. Most houses will reach this point and not exceed beyond it and as a result, the goal of the Doru is now to keep staying the course of momentum that they have built up over their previous contracts as a vassal to an overlord, but now doing so autonomously as a Sith House. The Doru can conduct their own diplomacy while informing their primary of the outcome and likewise can now use their own soldiers in operations and missions that benefit the Horuset Powerbase. In tandom, it is expected that an offensive contingent of the Doru’s forces will be made available for use during the Horuset Powerbase’s deployment and that their own recruitment lines can be called on when needed to replenish the Horuset Powerbase’s own reserves of soldiers.
There is no expectation for the Doru to reach Kolona. However such is done by becoming an indispensable necessity that the Horuset Powerbase as a whole would be crippled without.
Factors:- Resources go from the Doru to the Primary now that the Doru is self sustainable and capable of resource expansion on their own. What resources are offered to the overlord is spoken of at the initial or renewal ceremony.
- The once overlord is no longer referred to as such, but is now the Primary. The Doru is no longer considered a vassal of the Overlord, but an associate or dependent on the decision made at the initial or renewal ceremony.
- Troops loyal to the Doru now exclusively operate in the Doru’s domain. All of the Primary’s troops have withdrawn.
- The potential Doru must have at least two members.
- The Doru is focused exclusively on furthering their own influence amongst the other Sith Houses towards their own betterment to become a Kolona, a Pillar of the Horuset Powebase.
- The Doru can now conduct diplomacy of their own while informing their Primary of the outcome.
- The Doru now has a seat at the table of Sith Houses within the Horuset Powerbase and is expected to politic towards their own betterment with others at the table.
- The Doru can now use their soldiers as active units within the Horuset Powerbase’s deployments, having been incorporated into the 142nd Structure.
- Most Sith Houses will never be ready for the next tier. For those that politic their way to the very top of the Sith Houses pyramid, they will be capable to push for the next tier.
Requirements: A Kolona is the very top of the pyramid of the Horuset Powerbase. Resource production and soldiers are now entirely independent of other Sith Houses needing to supplement or assist in any way or form. The Kolona must have at least two members of the house and the Kolona is to act alongside the primary house of the powerbase, House Horuset, in a federated nature with the primary house of the powerbase remaining the frontrunning house of the Powerbase. The Kolona is now foundational to the very powerbase and without them and their spheres of influence, assets and structure, the Horuset Powerbase would be left in a much weakened state. The Kolona is considered autonomous like the Doru before it.
Expectations: The Kolona’s focus now shifts from resources and soldiers, though will continue with the momentum they have learned to gain throughout previous contracts. Their focus now is on bettering their own standing within the Horuset Powerbase and seeing projects of the powerbase completed in quick order. Likewise, Kolona are capable of taking Zilina contracts of their own and having those Zilina Sith Houses move up the tiers, all the way to Alijansen. For a Kolona to have one of their Alijansen become Doru the primary house of the powerbase, House Horuset, must give the go ahead. Kolona forces are expected to be a mainstay part of the Horuset Powerbase’s operations. Any tribute that may have gone towards their primary house or once overlord, can now be allocated directly to Horuset Powerbase projects instead of being funnelled through another Sith House first. The Kolona can conduct diplomacy entirely independently and can take two Zilina contracts at any one time dependent on what their own resource production can support. The Kolona, now at the highest tier, is focused on the Powerbase as a whole as a fundamental part of it.
Factors:- Resources go from the Kolona towards projects of the Horuset Powerbase that the Kolona wishes. Whether this is Sernpidal’s Shipyards or otherwise, the only mandate is that the resources go towards the Horuset Powerbase’s betterment but no longer do they go through the Primary House.
- Troops loyal to the Kolona now exclusively operate in the Kolona’s domain.
- The potential Kolona must have at least two members.
- The Kolona can conduct diplomacy of their own.
- The Kolona has a seat at the table of Sith Houses within the Horuset Powerbase and is expected to politic towards their own betterment with others at the table.
- The Kolona can now use their soldiers as active units within the Horuset Powerbase’s deployments, having been incorporated into the 142nd Structure.
- Depending on the resources and soldiers the Kolona has available to them, they can take on Zilina contracts of their own to bring other Sith Houses through the resurgence or building that the Kolona had once gone through themselves. A Kolona can have two Zilina contracts as a maximum, whereas the primary house of the powerbase, House Horuset, can have three.
- The Kolona is focused on bettering and expanding the Horuset Powerbase and taking on Zilina contracts of their own.

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!
 |
"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."
((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
