Neo-Traditionalism
A refined perspective on the methods of the Old Sith and a rationality better suited to the Empire of the day in returning to a traditional structure and mentality
The Empire today appears divided, some would say even on the brink of conflict, over the path forwards and what shape that path will take. On the one side there are the ‘progressives’, a slimy bunch who forget the intrinsic naturality of the galaxy, the ideals of superiority and the core tenets of emotional freedom that have guided our order to its place of strength and preeminence amongst those who practice with the force. On the other there are the ‘traditionalists’, a faction that I, for so long, belonged to. Driven by a need to dominate and avoid domination, traditionalists espout the founding ideals of the Sith and hearken for days long since gone where the racial supremacy of the Red Sith was undisputed and anything else was in the castes of the slaves. Countless centuries have passed since the ‘Golden Era’ of the Sith Empire and despite propaganda it does not appear the order is anywhere near to reimagining this more and more forgotten heritage.
The failures of both party to rebuild the Empire to its archaic grandeur is due to neither being able to truly seize power and drag the Empire where it needs to go. The most powerful being has not arisen and so we are left squabbling over method and bringing ourselves, every day, further from spawning the being that will - through steel of will and arm - dictate the Empire and command it into its next era of gold. This ideal can, rightly, be connected to the prophecy of the Sith’ari, something that I believe is the final evolution of the Sith. If we accept the power of the individual and the cycle of Sith besting Sith as tests to hone and refine oneself then the ultimate goal is a single all powerful individual beyond anything that we, or the Jedi, can imagine. The theory of the code does not lend itself to a unified order of Sith working together, that is the method of the Jedi and beyond even disgust when viewed by we, the order that exists to, rightly, invert and exterminate all the lies they feed the galaxy at large.
The Empire is divided between two continually polarising camps that seek to eliminate, or convert, one another before taking the Empire forwards to a new vision. Each vision is flawed and carries with it a number of fallacies, or outright treason, that beg to question why they are followed so closely. The answer is because as each faction pushes the other more they become less willing to ever find a new purpose. When targeted, they blind themselves and make it as a zealot in case their side might lose and they lose with it. A new way is needed, one more in tune with the Empire as it is today, but, also close enough to the traits and beliefs that make us who we are. There is no peace, there is emotion.
*With eyes, perhaps wearing of staring at the screen, blinking the text would finally come to an end and the system would run through it's final checks as the extensive treatise, possibly, still raced through your mind.*

Spoiler: The Sith History
And the galaxy at large is exactly what will, in the end, be under the thumb of the Sith. Before, with the likes of Sadow and Kressh, the Sith squabbled over a tiny spec of the true magnitude of the reward they could have reaped. With the revelation of the expanses of as of yet unexploited resources and untapped populations, the Sith were filled with lust and greed; emotions to drive them to strike out and seize more. This was good, and in the height of the Great-Hyperspace wars we were at the precipice of total victory when Naga Sadow, in his hubris - a trait shared by many in our order - he was injured by a nobody now long since erased and so the Empire collapsed as all the powerful stuck out to take command of the remnants. Our fall came from our own mistakes, not the strength of the Jedi, the mistake that we had nobody strong enough to take over from Sadow’s failure. We suffered our losses, forced from our homes and sent into hiding like vermin to crawl across the hyperspace lanes until a new leader, Vitiate, brought us to salvation on the world of Dromund Kaas.
A new Empire, one forged in new ideas, came into being; led by Red Sith but enabled by the mindless drones of humanity. Before, humans had numbered only in the slaves, with castes of Red Sith making up the actual civilisation. Now Imperial humans found themselves as citizens, not slaves, employed in the turning gears of the military complex which now dominates all live in the Empire. But is this a break from tradition? Of course it is, tradition dictated that only Red Sith could be anything but a servile thrall. Circumstances, however, demanded a change. There was simply not enough of the Red Sith remaining to form a new Empire, not if we were to truly realise our potential and mastermind a proper attempt on seizing the power we so rightly deserve. Even so, the Emperor and his closest advisors were, for a long time, Red Sith and the new form of domination and the dominated came into play. A ruling elite, made up of true Red Sith then stood atop a mass of Imperial human citizens working tirelessly for their masters and then finally the enslaved and captured underfoot, worked to the bone to make the desires of the strong a reality.
A perfect time, some might argue; the Dark Side grew in secret under the iron will of the Emperor as did the regions under our dominion. Still, we suffered with the burden of discretion, forced to hide ourselves away at the very edges of the galaxy or risk the retaliation of our hated nemesis. The Jedi. In time, when we were ready, we finally resurged, with victory after victory, won with hands coated in blood and carrying steel, to every corner we attacked. Then, at the pinnacle of our triumph we were betrayed, by none other than the Emperor. The treaty of Coruscant was signed in the wake of our greatest victory, outrage was rife for we could have finally destroyed our nemesis, but could we do anything? Nay, this is the strength and weakness of the Dark Side and our philosophy; because the Emperor’s indomitable will dictated such a choice we were forced to follow for not one amongst us could rise to challenge this. This was our failure, not his, and soon we settled into the Cold War that followed, aware that a spark could ignite the conflict once more.
As we entered this period of enforced peace, that existed in the shadow of new war, the Council seemed to begin to adjust and alter itself; preparing for who and what would follow considering the apparent seclusion of the Emperor. It speaks volumes of the power the Emperor commanded that during so long an absence he still managed to keep the bickering children of his council in line. Though, this only goes further to support the idea that the will of a single individual can, in fact, rise well above all else. Even so notable factionalism begun more in earnest as the Emperor allowed for fued to bring down the Sith of the council and those who served them. The death of Darth Jadus to be replaced by his daughter is only one such instance of this becoming clear and how even changing one councillor brought about new ideas on how the Empire should be administered in the pertinent sphere. In time the Empire once more fell to conflict with the Republic, peace established by the Emperor fading as we sought to reclaim the victories we had achieved not even a generation ago. A sorry war effort, one indicative of an Empire unsure of itself and in fluctuation that needed a strong hand to guide it.
The figures of Malgus and Marr stepped forwards into the limelight, promoting a new direction for the Empire; in the case of Malgus going so far as to secede with the forces he had under his service, clearly, however, he was not so powerful that his ideas should ever be wholly accepted again after he was cut down so pitifully before anything he even remotely desired could be achieved. Marr’s ideas, conversely, were adopted more and more by the Empire, especially after the attempted departure of Malgus. Aliens of all species were accepted into the Sith and the Imperial military to make up for a perceived short fall, although Aliens had been bleeding into the Sith from some time before, much to the delight of the growing ‘progressive’ factions. It was these huge steps that weaponised and excarbertaed traditionalist orders and Sith into action. Perceived attack on core principles had been identified and opposed by orders, such as the House Horuset, however it was not until these far more direct and extreme measures were taken that the less vitriolic factions were polarised to choose a side. Furthermore, the progressive supporters of Marr went further, allying themselves with the Jedi following actions on Yavin IV. At this moment, the Sith were lost. It is not our Empire and simple asinine use of emotions that built the order of Sith or the Code; but rather our hatred of our eternal enemy and our inversion of their broken promises and fear. By aligning ourselves to work in co-operation - harmony even - the meaning of being Sith was truly forgotten by some. Even now there are those that still support this choice of action, treasonous and spineless filth the lot of them, and we were shown the error of this way when all we achieved was pushing a great calamity from the pointless moon of Yavin to the gateway of the Empire and suffered ourselves a grave wound.
Marr’s failures, and those that followed him, were rewarded rightly with his death as he flailed pointlessly against the onslaught of the Eternal Empire. A chapter of history now firmly scarred into the memory of many as we, the Empire, were forced to bend the knee. An episode fraught with failure, in my own time it has been cited as reasons to further stray from our roots as a method to counter such challenges. Acina’s ascension was evidence enough for this as she pursued a campaign to eradicate traditionalist elements in all their forms, her campaign of purification an ironic twist on attempting to exterminate the pure and make us less so. Still, many harkened her a saviour, but, Acina was undone by what faces us all; her own limitations. Followers of the Old Ways were, and still are, deeply rooted to the core of this Empire and Acina has seen little purchase to remove the traditionalist block. By the time of writing the Empire has risen from it’s cowed position and now stands as an ‘ally’ to the Eternal Alliance, only the second official ally this Empire has ever had. Acina continues to try and eliminate those that oppose her, failing quite spectacularly in doing so.

Spoiler: The Lies of the Progressive
Progressives take many forms, many stances, and occupy numerous political leanings; however, the core tenets explore a future of the Sith free from racial prejudice and committed to collaboration to create an Empire strong enough to - united - strike out at the enemies of the Sith. This may appear familiar to many, as it is core mechanics of the Jedi. They preach to live, free of division and fear, for the benefit of their entire stifling community and follow goals that benefits them all. It is through these mediums that they combat us wherever they might find us and why we continue our struggle to rid the galaxy of them. Not only this but progressives are often, though not always, the voices in the room calling for rational thought and calm to dominate when making choices, arguing that we must - always - think of the greater good when considering our next moves. Forgetting of feuds, accepting one’s place underfoot and acting always for the health of the whole group are facets of the Jedi teachings. We must oppose this on every level that we discover it, cutting the cancer free when it is found, or we risk allowing the pathetic and weak killing us from the inside out.
Honesty, cooperation and integrity are terms for those wretches who cannot seize their fear, turning it into something to enable them, instead crippled by it and clutching to pull down those around them that actually have some value to our society. There is something to be said for being tactful and intelligent, but this is not remotely the same as what the progressive seeks to preach. Too often one forgets what makes us Sith, what gives us power, in the name of their own happiness and contentedness. The fact this mentality draws traction amongst so many speaks volumes to how few actually possess any real power, they forget and lose so much potential but for preaching their wanton love for all and their desire to see us all thrive. Do not believe the progressive who claims to know the Darkness, they have not lived in it’s embrace nor have they experienced it’s cold venomous bite that pushes true Sith into action and culls the weak from the whole.

Spoiler: The Failure of the Traditionalist
The Old Ways are being forgotten; with each passing day we move further from the history the traditionalist claims to want back. How is it possible now, as the majority fall under the sway of treasonous words, to see a future of the Empire in the colour of what is wanted? No alien or slave will give up their newfound power just because it is demanded of them by the true Sith, the Empire will be shattered and the Jedi will be allowed to win, an ultimate victory that does not belong to them. Furthermore, traditionalist mentality is becoming a case of denial as simple abhorrence of all that is impure is rejected. This has become a new failure, where pureblooded Sith reject all possibility of any other holding a candle to their efforts and so do not see the dagger of the newcomers ready to slip under their ribs.
Not only this but the core principle of competition is forgotten in the face of annihilation. Fear of the progressive gives traditionalism power, but also forces them to work together. A mentality of the ‘Order of the Old Ways’ permeates, causing the group to act in the benefit of one another if only to avoid being chipped away by the progressive factions. Not quite the light sided principles that seep from from the cracks on the other side but still something that will be a binding chain once the perceived threat is over. Will the traditionalists remember their routes of competition if they won? Perhaps, but a rise in progressive mentality would not be an impossibility again and I feel that the Order of the Old Ways would remain as a method to keep those voices downtrodden, leaving little time to find the most powerful being amongst them.

The key to most arguments between the progressive and the traditionalist is on the status of the Alien and the Slave; now so often combined into a single group. They occupy a not insubstantial portion of the Sith and, as has already been identified, are unlikely to take being evacuated or executed sitting down. The truth is they are both groups meant to serve, little else can be understood because they idea of their equality can only be a myth. There is no equality; nothing and nobody occupies the same position and can never do so, that is the nature of the Dark Side. To find hierarchy and dominance even among those who carry the same title and the same rank, be it informal or formal power. Slaves are the scum, the vermin, too weak to stand up to our might and as such serve; our economy rests on this and so we become reliant to maintain the vast populations of thralls we already have as well as expand it. Inherently these slaves are, by their nature, Alien. This is no accident nor is it chance, it is by function and by logic. Our system of caste and rank comes from the Old Sith who organised themselves according to their role, the bottom most rung was the slaves and for them this incorporated anything not of the Dark Jedi exiles and not proper pureblooded Sith.
This is because of our genetics as well as our culture. The Jedi exiles, once having interbred, created a new species - the pureblooded species we know today - that was far and away superior in every way. With stronger bodies and sharper minds, as well as a propensity for violence, deviousness and conflict, we are the vessel in which the true Sith’ari will be grown. But, above all, it is the genetic affinity of the force that makes them so much better. No other species has as many young born able to command the force. It defines and makes pureblooded Sith who they are meant to be. No other race carries the same genetic advantages and many even have those which suit them only for the work of slaves; togruta hunt like wild animals - meant only to be harnessed and unleashed like dogs, rattataki stupidly brawl through their days to find dominance - nothing more than brutish fiends to break apart skulls and rocks, cathar are nothing but a fine fur - exceptional for keeping their betters warm and distracting other serfs, twi’leks know their own worthlessness - having built their own home as a station to offer themselves into servitude. It can be undeniable that the Alien is meant to be the Slave, but this does not mean all must serve.
Even given all that the Empire has receded from its preeminence, in its time certain Aliens have shown themselves to be better than the average mongrel. These cannot be ignored and should instead be accepted. For too long pureblooded Sith have rested on the velvet cushion of their upbringing and their genes, content to imagine this creates a bubble of protection that means they can never be harmed. This is not the way of the Dark Side and is to be eliminated, a pureblooded Sith is better than any other being, but it means little if they do not see the Alien from below with a blaster aimed at their spine. What, then, is the Empire to do? Greater care is to be taken at the level of acolyte. No longer will the Academies of Dromund Kaas and Korriban give a free ride to all capable of the force, we will return to the vicious and killer nature the trials once had. In this way eliminating far more of the weak and allowing a stronger kind to rise. The counterpart to this move would be the destruction of nepotism and favoritism at this level, by letting the pureblooded Sith work as equals whilst in the dirt they will show their inherent strength. If all are held at exactly same point to grow from, the naturally stronger pureblooded Sith will rise further alongside the incredibly rare Alien cases. They are there and meant to be dominated, but no longer is it viable to think of them as only meant for extermination.
This will then trickle up through the Empire. As Aliens are accepted as the hurdles they are, mere challenges meant to only better the truly powerful Sith, they will in time gravitate lower in the pecking order whilst the superior breed will rise to the top by virtue of all that I have mentioned. Darth Atroxa was an extraordinary alien, one that was quite powerful in her time, even so she failed in her defence of Korriban and paid for it with her life. Nothing of value was lost when she died, merely another pathetic wretch was cast out and we knew she could never be of any real import again.

Spoiler: On the Place of Competition
It is through competition that the Sith can only grow. We do not nurture or mollycoddle, we allow nature to take its course and the naturally more impressive to then enforce their will on all else. Mercy, justice, right and even wrong are all tools of the weak to try and manipulate the thoughts of the strong. There is only desire and suffering, with the latter feeding the former to give you, the Sith, reason to be and rise. The fault of one’s failure lies both externally as well as internally, hatred of the self as well as others empowers and brings with it new venomous power in the force. From this it can be translated into power within the Empire. If this is correctly propagated through the Empire and enforced onto all that serve it, again, in time we will discover the being meant to command us. We will want to kill them, to take their mantle for our own and make ourselves that being; but they will be the Sith’ari, capable of stopping all of us. We will hate it and fight it, only to be beaten again. We must never accept our defeat, but understand it is necessary for us to be destroyed, to know we have found the right individual.
Ascension will only come by surpassing the ones that train you, by defeating them and seizing their place, only to make yourself better than it. Live in fear of those above you as well as below and you will know the desire to grow stronger. There is no substitute for real competition and any attempt to avoid this will only fail you as you never became capable enough to ever achieve anything. You will be forgotten, discarded, and everything you once held onto tightly will be burned down around your cold and lifeless hands. That is our way and it is the only way. The weak must never be allowed to infect the strong.
The Sith, whilst defined by the power of the strong, often begin in such humble beginnings as that of the acolyte which I have spoken on earlier. It is a dangerous time to be an acolyte because you are in constant competition for the finite requirements of a master to have any chance of progressing onto real power. It is this which drives acolytes to maim, bully and, sometimes, murder one another. Murdering another acolyte is, of course, illegal however it is not the crime of killing that we punish but rather being so stupid as to be caught. Furthermore never before have I seen an alliance of acolytes taken together and able to forever work together until the end of time. In the end the bonds break down and those whom break those chains sooner are far more likely to become more powerful. Why? Because loyalty to one’s ‘allies’ is a noose that cuts you off before you ever achieve anything of real import. Everyone around you is vermin you must best and to not think of your fellow acolytes as such is to invite all manner of failure.

Spoiler: On the Eternal War
In the past, as I have already mentioned, we were pulled astray. The cretinous and weak that now afflict us followed the foolish Marr into an open alliance with the Jedi. At that moment, the Sith died. We were Sith no longer and instead something very different. The Exiles did not form this order, nor did they flee the core, to simply be a different group teaching another way; they left with a vengeance and a desire to come back and cut down the people that had ousted them for fear of what they had become. The Jedi preach for emotionless husks that march to the beat chimed out by their own Council of masters. They bind themselves in the chains and fear of who they really are and what they can do, denying their command of the force and settling to be so much less. It is wrong, unnatural and should be purged to let life find it’s true higher purpose. In every form and every method the Jedi, and the Light Side, must be combatted and purged. They live to bring ‘peace’ and ‘harmony’ whilst they also seek out ways to burn our home to the ground again and exterminate us once and for all. Their hypocrisy cannot be unseen nor can it be forgotten as another reason they simply need to be removed.
The Republic is not vindicated by this message. Although not ruled by the Jedi, they have passed bills outlawing the Sith and making us an offence to their people. As much as they self-determine the Republic has become the bloated corpse that the flies that are the Jedi now inhabit, it must be removed from the waters of the galaxy and burnt before the space can be filled properly with those that accept there is no way to live with everyone as equals. Instead, that the rightful rule and the weak serve. There can be no end to this challenge and we should never falter on tackling these two entities. THis does not mean truces can be exploited to allow us a better position to strike from; but never again will we work alongside the Jedi and we should never once more stop when the Republic is meant to crumble.

Sith and Noble houses alike are commonplace in the Empire, blocs of power built on the grounds of shared heritage and similar blood. These beg to defy the expected competition by their nature of being for their greater good. However, this does not need to be the way. Families are to allow for the fact that we are not the Jedi, emotionless, but instead we feel on a far deeper level. Sentiment is as natural as letting the weak die and cannot be stifled or we risk becoming what we despise. However, if the House cannot be purged it must instead be made to work as an entity for the ideals of the Sith and the person who is a part of it. Houses can then be seen as the individuals of the Empire, competing with each other and fighting for resources to become more preeminent than the others. Then, within the Houses, goals and titles internally can be placed and created to allow for competition within the Household, meaning only the powerful rise to the top of their House and only powerful Houses are capable of taking the very best.
Marriage, either inside of Houses or between them, exists and once more defy the idea of the individual. But, to this I must refer to the fallacy of equality. Marriages are not meant to be built only on mutual love, understanding and feeling. As many marriages are built on purely political grounds as not, with assets trading hands as often as husbands and brides. The marriage is a tool of diplomacy to manage the Empire as well as a new platform for competition. One of the partners is always dominant, always, there can be no two Sith married who share the same level of control. In these marriages the tug of the Dark Side wanes and so too does their ability to direct and control the force. Do not think me saying they will become cut from it, only their rage and their venom will fade, leaving them with nothing to drive them. A fate worse than death. On the other hand a marriage built on the competition and machinations of the Sith can be one of the most productive sources of fuel to drive an individual on, as well as control of the marriage freeing up so much potential for the dominant partner. The collapse, as well as the rise, of a marriage can unlock true power in some. Something never to be forgotten.
Relations outside of marriages exist, of course they do. There is not one reading this, I wager, who has not at the very least either looked past the chains of their marriage or simply at another they are not tied too filled with a burning lust and desire. In this, power can be sought. The thrill, the desire, the jealousy, the rage and even hatred can be spread through these methods. They are a test and a challenge that must be wrestled with and either defeated or left to defeat you. They carry all the same emotional traits and triggers of the marriage but none of the political aspect. One must be wary of course, to fall too far into these emotions can lead to losing yourself and forgetting about the power you crave. You must always be capable of striking down the very people you pull so close, or you will never exceed them and to content yourself with that is nothing short of failure.

The economy of the Empire is built on the sweat and blood of slaves and the lower orders. This is a system based off of the Sith need for order, structure and hierarchy; a system created from our own. We are not the the only ones to exploit this system and see its benefits. Hutts and all others of this more criminal branch do so to to great effect and the Republic is, for it’s most part, hamstrung to eliminate what t decries as a ‘heinous treatment of people’. But it is our economy, our shipyards and factories, that ready us for war whilst they still debate about appropriate action. Alongside this they even go so far as to ally with the Hutts! In their own doing justifying and even supporting the very thing they claim to wish to see ended. When Vaiken put in motions the plan for the Imperial fleet he thought beyond his own life and even his own generation, creating a system of construction and expansion that still, to this day, we feel the benefits of. Centralised, Imperial controlled, economy overseen by responsible members of the Sith is the way to create an economy capable of totally out producing anything the rest of the galaxy might produce. Designated agri-worlds and industrial-worlds alongside the regular tribute from factions, such as the Ascendency, is the correct path forwards.
Spoiler: On the Fate of the Galaxy
The galaxy must, like all things, fall into the systems we know encourage the very best from the strong at the cost to the weak. Whilst direct administration of every world would cripple the Empire, allowing smaller satrapy states and vassel entities means that the galaxy could be united in a form of dominance and dominated where we reap the benefits of our own power. Sith, and Imperials, free to do as they please amongst groups enslaved for their inherent weakness. Even the formal alliance of the Chiss is not a classic alliance but instead a system in which they pay for their right to self-determine their internal systems whilst giving up their ability to refuse our calls to arms. The strength of the Empire is absolute because of the Sith and the strength of the Sith is absolute because of our adherence to the Darkness.
