The Fifth Set of Edicts of the Dark Lord of Horuset

#1

Trakaton's form would blaze to life in the classic display of a holographic transmission, the electric blue tinge accenting some features while diminishing others. Trakaton would be stood with his arms folded across his armoured chest, the cloak hanging loosely from his shoulders and the custom-fit plates of the armour looking as comfortable as an embrace. The scar on the right side of his face would be barely visible, his head ever so slightly turned to the right and he'd speak with a tone of authority:

"The fifth set of edicts are as outlined by the Dark Lord of the Horuset Powerbase and her Conservancy to be heard by the masses of the entire Powerbase with adherence from all. Each edict as of this holomessage is already in effect. Any that excuse themselves from the laws of these edicts will be punished as the traitors to the cause that they are. No longer will the idle and tame hold back the strong."

The First Edict: The Severing of the Lowest Low

"From the announcement of our fifth edicts, species that are non-humanoid or inherently aligned with the Republic lose all of their individual rights. The right to have a name, the right to be seen as sentient no longer applies to those who the Dark Lord has deemed as so vile to be a blight upon the galaxy and are deserving of no pity nor protection. The Cathar, the Nautolan, the Mirialan alongside many other offshoots of species so rancid and politically aligned with the Republic have earned the ire of the Powerbase and will suffer for the crime that is their birth. A blind eye will be turned to those who test them and push them to the very edge. Through this strife, the powerbase will remain pure."

The Second Edict: The Representation Edict

"It is the will of the Dark Lord and her Conservancy that all within the Powerbase gain a strong foundation from which they can operate and receive such a benefit in kind. Contact with other Powerbases of the Empire, whether they are Lords of the Sith, Dark Lords of the Sith or any other are without exception to be reported to the Conservancy so they can be added to the emerging network the Conservancy is creating. Once created, such a web will be used by the Conservancy to benefit all within the Powerbase. The individual has both the freedom and the responsibility to reach out to whomever they want, but the details must be reported to the Conservancy as a whole. Failing to do so will be seen as the emergence of a rival, and will be punished accordingly.

The Third Edict: The Emergence of the Envoy of Inquisition

"With the war against the Republic at the forefront of the Powerbase's interests, the importance of significant and reliable intelligence is at an all time high. The Dark Lord decrees that knowledge is power and through power she gains victory. With such a matter at the helm, the Envoy of Ritual is no more with all of its duties to be absorbed by the Envoy of Purity alongside the Sith Harbinger's role being absorbed into the Sith Purifier's duties. In the place of the Envoy of Ritual, the Envoy of Inquisition will provide a reliable and steady stream of information and intelligence into the Powerbase directly to the Conservancy and will likewise be the Conservancy's lead investigative tool in uncovering the truth of situations. They will operate under the Hand and supply him and the Dark Lord with insight from both within and without the powerbase. Above all, they are loyal, responsible and unafraid to linger in the shadows. Likewise, the role of Sith Harbinger has been utterly replaced with that of the Sith Inquisitor."

The Fourth Edict: Clarity on Ascension

"There is a new generation of Sith in the making. As such, there is now a clear policy on how masters may promote their students. A Lord of the Sith is within their authority to promote their apprentice to the rank of Household Sith if they have proven themselves sufficiently in the eyes of their master. This may be done without direct permission of the Conservancy or the Dark Lord, although a wise Sith would inform the latter prior to them promoting their student. A Sith cannot promote their apprentice to Household Sith on their own authority. They have to pass on this authority to their direct master to sanction it. This is only the case if the direct master is a Lord of the Sith or the Dark Lord herself. If there is no recognised master above them, this task will also fall to Darth Horuset. An apprentice or Household Sith can only ascend to become a Lord of the Sith with the blessing of Darth Horuset. There are no exceptions to this rule. For an apprentice without a speck of purity to ascend, their master requires the express permission of the Dark Lord to do so."

The Fifth Edict: Clarity of Governance

"By the decree of Darth Horuset herself, with the centralisation of the Powerbase she has deemed to begin to root out the rot that has taken root inside the Powerbase. As such, a return to prior codes will be brought about. An Apprentice is to look like an Apprentice. Any whom is not of Sith rank or above is outright prohibited from dressing alike a superior, the grandest of displays involving shoulder guards befitting those above the rank of apprentice. This edict serves as a reminder to all who hear the will of Darth Horuset that if you intend to adorn yourself with such tokens of authority, you will earn them first."

At that, the holorecording would come to an end, the blued figure of Lord Kalkoran fading from view, the last aspect of him to go being his crimson gaze.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
