The Seventh Set of Edicts of the Dark Lord of Horuset

A recording of Darth Ahandra Yaria Horuset plays as the datafile is opened.

"My servants,"

"You have found yourself in the aftermath of the conflict on Anx Minor these past weeks. To the wise and erudite, this is nothing but the silence before the next storm. The inevitability of a next campaign should have you collect yourself- train, gather your strength, manage your own sphere of influence."

"Should, is the keyword."

"So few who serve me are able to harness the passion to go above and beyond in order to grow stronger, more independent and influential. For the longest time, circumstance dictated that I must be content with this undesirable reality. But not any longer. The Sith who operate under the banner of the Blazing Sun are now more numerous than ever. And with quantity comes the opportunity to look for quality."

"With this in mind, the Conservancy is as of now officially disbanded! No more will a common Household Sith command a Sith Lord. With this new reality, the Sith Lord becomes the highest authority in the powerbase- their influence enshrined as a member of the Pentarchy. This Pentarchy is the new ruling organ that replaces the Conservancy and will see five Sith Lords placed in charge, each wielding total control over an aspect of the powerbase. This aspect, or sphere is completely their responsibility and will suffer minimal meddling from other Sith. Each Sith Lord is expected to maintain a ‘Shatajir’; or Heir. A favoured second who will take over upon the Lord’s untimely death… or failure to meet expectations. Each sphere may be organised entirely as its commanding Lord sees fit. It is their own microcosm, where their rule is close to absolute. The sole metric of success is efficiency; When myself or the Hand make a demand from a sphere, they must oblige and do so immediately and with due diligence. Failure to meet this expectation will see a Lord stripped of their title and replaced by their Shatajir."

"And so follow the five spheres with their respective Lords:"

"The Sphere of War will be spearheaded by Lord Saltaeon. She may pick her own Shatajir."

"The Sphere of Advancement is led by Lord Vipion. She too may pick her own Shatajir."

"The Sphere of Insight is to be controlled by Lord Iezkon. Her Shatajir is picked for her and will be Sith Leive."

"The Sphere of Resurgence will see Lord Sarias taking charge. Her Shatajir is picked as well, and will be Sith Dutrosu."

"Lastly, there is the Sphere of Doctrine. Those who have been paying attention will realise there are but four common Sith Lords in my powerbase, whereas the name Pentarchy alludes to five positions. As such, those who vie for the position of Sith Lord of Doctrine will have exactly a month's time to decide who the most suitable candidate is. This is to be decided through politics, not a simple spar. Sith Zevasa, Sith Hazlem, you are these candidates."

"But there is more; The years of the Conservancy have taught me the hard lesson that even amongst a small group the illusion of peerage can take hold. The reprehensible idea that those who work alongside you, are your equals. This is not so. The code and our order, teaches us that this is not so. As such, I wish for an extra layer of stratification. Amongst the five Sith Lords, there will ever be one who stands out. The strongest, most entrenched and influential Lord will henceforth be known as the Fist of Horuset. While holding no formal authority over the other Lords, he or she will effectively be the Shatajir for the Hand and I. The first to claim the title of Fist will be Lord Saltaeon."

"A last change that must be mentioned is the role of the Household Sith in all of this. The Household Sith is always subservient to one of the Pentarchy Lords. The Lord in charge of the sphere they serve, automatically becomes their master. In the public edicts, read carefully what this means for you, should you be one of these Household Sith. An apprentice will go wherever their master goes whatever sphere that may be, and whatever Lord they may serve."

"Those who are paying attention will wonder what this means for the apprentices of the Hand and myself; From this point on, each of us will only take a single apprentice at the time. They answer only to us and will be trained to take down the Lords and Shatajir who underperform. If they are inserted into a sphere, it is a warning that you are watched and that we deem it necessary to have an agent of our will in your proximity to ensure you do not disappoint… Or so they may learn more about the inner-workings of the sphere to replace you…These are the changes made to this powerbase per my will. I will suffer no ignorance to these rules. To break them, ignore them or bend them is to commit treason."

The recording of Darth Ahandra Yaria Horuset comes to an end, the rest of the data is now available.

The Dark Lord of the Horuset Powerbase
Darth Ahandra Yaria Horuset

The leader of the Horuset Powerbase, the Dark Lord enacts their will with an iron fist. With full authority over all matters and a centralised regime, there is no shadowed corner of the Horuset Powerbase that the Dark Lord is unaware of.

The apprentice of the Dark Lord of Horuset is currently Apprentice Krassus Horuset.

The Hand of Horuset

A role created precisely to fulfil any possible absence of the Dark Lord, second to none but the Dark Lord of Horuset - and their voice whenever they are not present. The Hand is in charge of all internal and external affairs and is responsible for all who serve within the Horuset Powerbase alongside being head of all the Operations and Missions of the Powerbase. As such the Hand has both the most responsibility and accountability. As a token befitting their rank, the Hand carries a lightsaber with a rare purple crystal as a badge of office. At its core, the Hand holds the most political and executive power of any position, save for the Dark Lord themselves.

This rank is currently held by Darth Kalkoran.

The apprentice of the Hand of Horuset is currently Apprentice Rhysand Sekker.

The Pentarchy of Lords

"The Lords of the Powerbase each have a specific portfolio they are responsible for. Within their sphere, their power is virtually absolute. They may create titles or power structures as they see fit, but those only hold authority within their own sphere. The primary task of the Sith Lord is to ensure their sphere is managed well and capable of anything and everything the Dark Lord and her Hand ask of it."

"Each Sith Lord has a Shatajir- an heir or favoured one. This is a Household Sith who is marked as the successor to their master. Should the Sith Lord die or be considered unfit to rule, the Shatajir will automatically assume their master's title, provided it is not claimed by someone else. The Shatajir can be appointed by the Sith Lord themselves. The Dark Lord and the Hand maintain the authority to overrule this decision and choose the Shatajir instead."

"Each Sith Lord also has to have an Overseer represent their sphere to the training of the Acolytes. The exceptions are the Lord of War, who will provide a Blademaster instead of an Overseer to teach the Acolytes bladework and the Lord of Doctrine who will provide a Lorekeeper to teach history, philosophy, and manage the Archives. Such positions are expected to be held by Household Sith or apprentices from within the Lord’s sphere, they can also be the apprentice of the Dark Lord or their Hand if chosen by the Lord."

"In addition to their responsibilities, each Sith Lord wields a unique right, power or boon that sets them apart from their peers."

"One of the below Lords of the Pentarchy will be named the Fist of Horuset, who is the first among equals. If either the Darth or the Hand dies, then the Fist takes the place of the Hand. The title of the Fist is one that can change hands through dominance and will remain with the strongest of the Lords of the Powerbase. Lords of the Pentarchy are encouraged to strive for this position through both political sway, the might of their blade and potency of their power."

The Lord of War is currently Lord Saltaeon, who also holds the title and sigil of the Fist of Horuset. The Lord of Advancement is currently Lord Vipion. The Lord of Resurgence is currently Lord Sarias. The Lord of Insight is currently Lord Krevas. The Lord of Doctrine is currently Lord Zynn.
The Shatajir of War is currently Sith D'oemir. The Shatajir of Advancement is currently Vacant. The Shatajir of Resurgence is currently Sith Stûza. The Shatajir of Insight is currently Vacant. The Shatajir of Doctrine is currently Vacant.
The Blademaster is currently Apprentice Mathangi Ryam. The Overseer of Advancement is currently Apprentice Safiyya Tanamart. The Overseer of Resurgence is currently vacant. The Overseer of Insight is currently vacant. The Lorekeeper is currently Sith Suyni.
The Lord of War is responsible for the military might of the powerbase. Both its army and navy fall within the realm of the Lord of War and its usage during deployments and restoration during leave must be managed. The Lord of War also oversees the Sith of the Powerbase who seek Sith Commander positions within the Army or Navy, Taskforce: Leviathan and the organised Sith unit, the Sith Warriors. The Lord of Advancement is responsible for Research & Development, providing appropriate healthcare for Sith and powerbase personnel, maintaining and expanding the Horuset Bestiary and the safeguarding of Artefacts. The Lord of Resurgence is responsible for the economic might of the powerbase and its ability to export goods to the Empire to keep the war effort supplied both locally in the Northern Territories and on other fronts of the galactic conflict. This includes the distribution and creation of new production assets and the acquisition and supply of resources needed for domestic projects. The Lord of Insight is responsible for the flow of information to the top of the powerbase. They are both expected to keep tabs on foreign, as well as domestic developments. Additionally, they are the first to represent the powerbase in a diplomatic setting when required. The Lord of Doctrine is responsible for the cultural homogeneity of the Powerbase and its assets. They protect it against Heresy, Light-side incursions and maintain a strong control over the cultural heritage and knowledge of the Sith Order.
Commander of the Fleet - The Lord of War commands the Fleet and Army of the Powerbase and as a result, can deploy a naval vessel or army unit to assist in any mission, operation or similar outing. Due to casualties, fatigue, combat readiness and maintenance required, the Lord of War must choose when to deploy a vessel or unit carefully for fear of being unable to deploy it when it is more needed. The Horuset Vault - The Lord of Advancement is the sole person aside from the Dark Lord and the Hand who can access the Horuset Vault and use the relics within. They are given the privilege to grant this permission to others. The Horuset Stockpile - The Lord of Resurgence has access to the newly sourced Horuset Stockpile. The Horuset Stockpile is an armoury of advanced technological marvels that the Lord of Resurgence can enable on a mission, operation or similar outing to take from to enhance the individuals involved. Most of the technology is one use and is expected to be returned and as a result, the Lord of Resurgence must choose when to deploy the stockpile carefully for fear of using it up entirely before it can be replenished when a difficult mission would be eased by its use. Listening Post - The Lord of Insight is the sole figure aside from the Dark Lord and her Hand who can access the Listening post. This can be used to acquire information on planets, fleets, assets and even holo-correspondence, be it domestic or foreign. The Horuset Guard - To keep order, the Lord of Doctrine may domestically command the Horuset guard, able to bring a pair of guards with them when within the Powerbase.

The Household Sith - The Household Sith is always subservient to one of the Pentarchy Lords. The Lord in charge of the sphere they serve, automatically becomes their master. The exception to this rule is when one Household Sith acknowledges a second Household Sith in the SAME SPHERE as their master, however this second Household Sith must then serve the Lord of their Sphere, or another Household Sith who in turn serves the Lord of their Sphere. Household Sith are encouraged to use their talents to better the powerbase through service in their specific sphere to the goal of claiming the Shatajir title. Any Sith Apprentices of a Household Sith, automatically officially serve the sphere of their master and have no further say in the matter. Each Household Sith, has access to a supply of Household Sith Tokens that they can use to mark their favour on those apprentices who wish to ascend.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
