[Tier 3] Experimental Sotizi Notes, Apprentice Winter

#1
Initial Sotizi Notes - Working

The ritual of Sotizi is one of equivalent transfer. It heals one target by inflicting an identical wound on a donor target, effectively transferring the injury from one to another. A minimum of force sense to examine the injury, in addition to one’s own understanding of the injury in question. Those that are somewhat more complex and intricate, and possibly those that were sustained long ago, could require a minor scrying ritual to determine the true nature of the injuries in question.

The new injury should be made on the donor individual after the ritual has started, otherwise one is left with two of the same injury, and nothing to show for it. In practice, the ritual works by forming a bridge between recipient and victim, and maintaining a flow of energy between the two individuals. Through this bridge of energy, they will find themselves somewhat linked through the force, though bound only at the focal points a ritualist has drawn forth. Once the ritualist has established the connection, and is content with the hold that they have on each, the new damage can be done. Through inflicting an injury at a focal point of the ritual, the healthy parts of the donor body, and the ailed parts of the injured body swap states. Where - for instance - a broken bone was set in a cast, the body beneath would become as one, once more, where a fused donor bone will break in kind.

It is important to note that this bridging should not be done with a ritualist at its centre [1]. Doing so will bring the sorcerer into the path of the ritual, and though success in cases may still be found, it is risking an undesirable backlash. Backlash that may not always progress correctly to the desired target properly.

Though I cannot prove it at this moment, it stands to reason that progressively longer rituals, and more donors will be required to account for the subsequently more difficult injuries attempting to be remedied. A broken bone is a rather obtuse injury, assuming a break is clean and the bones all remain in place. As such, the required ritual is relatively fast to perform in full, and observe the results of. A ritual that may require a more involved sacrifice will, of course, take longer to perform, being as the infliction and the transfer carry more intricacies with them. It may also take multiple instances of the ritual in order to achieve truly desirable results.

As with most higher level rituals, Sotizi requires an external draw in order to carry it to completion - especially for the longer lasting sessions. An active siphon is likely the best external energy source, though in limited amounts amulets may be sufficient [2].

[1] Trust the words written here, it is a first-hand experience I would not wish repeated.
[2] This is so far untested. A live siphon resulted in a mostly successful execution of the ritual.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
