The Notes of a Vipion

Spoiler: OOC Note
The Notes of a Vipion

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Entry 1: Secret Thoughts.

My endless search has been in vain. It is time that I face this fact: my father is truly gone. I have neglected my duties as an Apprentice to Lord Kalkoran, I gave up on the one constant in my life, training, to find my father who has been lost in the galaxy for too long. If he knew what I was doing, I know how he would react. He would call me a stupid girl, wasting her time on a fairy-tale ending, and falling behind in the Sith ranks. I would look him straight in the eye and tell him that he was right. I cannot bring honour to his name in this fruitless task. It is time that I restore the proud name of Vipion.

Let me start this new written path, but sharing a thought I had a few months ago. I finally made it. After a few years, I am finally an Apprentice in the Horuset Stronghold, but he was not my first choice, nor my second. Though I admit, I am relieved that my second choice did not pick me. Lord Trakaton Kalkoran is now my Master, and the moment I met him and told him of my desire to be his Apprentice, I felt the respect I had for him, and felt my loyalty grew.

My second choice, was Darth Ahandra Horuset herself, but to be fair, I only wanted to be her Apprentice because of her title, nothing more. She was married to my father and bore his child, but she is not nor ever will be my mother nor anything that represents family. None will replace my mother. Even after all these years since her death, she gives me strength.

Yet, my strength does not fall on her alone...it falls on my father, Yutal Vipion, also known as Lord Tokiai. He has been missing for nearly a year, but I have faith he is alive out there somewhere...I worked hard to win his approval, to be his Apprentice...and his daughter. The last time I saw him, he didn't make me his Apprentice...but he made me his daughter and heir to the Vipions, as he once was. I knew in my heart...I did something right. But after I heard of his disappearance...I abandoned the Horuset House to search as far as I could, but to no avail.

I make this promise. I will build the Vipions stronger than ever. I will make it into a House my father and grandfather, Darth Coduno, can be proud of. Come what may. I am a Vipion now, heavy is the burden, but the pride is strong. I will continue your legacy, Father, while using Mother's past knowledge and teachings...I promise.

This will be the most challenging promise, but one that I welcome. Nothing and no one will stop me.

Entry 2: Trademarks of an Assassin.

It is to no surprise that I want to go down the path of Assassin. Why? My mother was an Assassin. She was and still is my inspiration. Growing up, I learned the ways of becoming an Assassin from her, therefore I decided to get it down to writing what I believe an Assassin is, what weapons and gear they use, along their skills. If people disagree with my definition, well, too bad. I only care of my opinion...and my Master's, of late.

What is an Assassin?

An Assassin is known to be a silent killer. One who thrives in hiding in the darkness of night and the shadows of day, to seek their target and slaughter them in a quiet, deadly fashion, then making sure that they remain invisible with no way to track the killer down. The idea behind a quick hidden death is to be quick as well as ruthless and ongoing. Once your prey is in sight, kill them swiftly before they can fight back and cause noise or an alarm, and do so without being spotted. If an Assassin is spotted and recognised during their mission to execute silently, then they are unfit for the role.

I remember the days when I was a child and my mother had two jobs: assassinate and to raise me. My father did not know of my existence, so it fell upon my mother to raise me. She took me along during her missions, showing me bloodshed at a early age. I did not mind it, I relished in it. The sound of a pain-filled, dying scream was my lullaby, the sounds of a blade cutting the flesh and downpour of blood was music to my ears. My mother's work was my muse.

The Attire.

It is very important, but also obvious, that the attire of the assassin should give freedom and room for the assassin to move about it with no restrictions as well as to make no sounds. Light armor such as cloth is preferred because it offers comfort, freedom to move around while giving off no sounds. However, it does not offer protection. The best, in my opinion would be medium armour. It still gives comfort and space to move around in freely, it does not radiate sound and gives mild protection. Wearing any form of heavy armour is a mistake as it will slow you down and make too much noise.

The armour should also work in concealing your identity as much as possible, to be classed as a silent, invisible murderer. The colour of the armour is to be black preferred, so to make it easier to blend in the shadows and the darkness before, during and after your attack. Here is how I envision for my armour to be one day. The day I am classified as a professional Assassin.

The Weapons.

The weapons will vary between each Assassin. It will differ from range weapons such as sniper rifles and pistols that have a silencer on the front, moving forward to a crossbow, then onward to daggers and swords. The Sith would naturally feel at ease with the Lightsaber, which I have noticed that most Sith Assassins use a double-bladed lightsaber. Perhaps the reason is that it is more effective to kill in a crowd in one clean sweep, silencing more than one foe. For me, I continue to walk the footsteps of my mother. I enjoy the use of daggers mostly, along with a sword or two. I am only just getting back to my duties as a Sith, so I do not have my Lightsaber yet. Therefore I cannot make a conclusion on the usefulness behind a Lightsaber being used by an Assassin. I know that as my training progresses, I want to be a duel wielder. I often use two daggers when I am fighting a foe in the dark, and currently I have a Vibrosword, given to me by my Master, Lord Kalkoran, and I am enjoying the blade more so than my peers by the looks of things.

I have no less than four daggers on me at all times. One in each boot, and one in each arm sleeve, ready to jump forth to stab my foe who has gotten too close. I tend to carry another two, but that depends more on my surroundings, whether I am in the Estate or out in the field. Here is just a simple drawing of two of my six daggers. The other four look different.

The style of each weapon will be made to best fit the Assassin, taking into consideration of their height, even race and gender, as well as which is their dominant hand and their off hand. It is quite rare to find the exact appearance of a weapon between a band of Assassins, unless it is twins but even then it is just ridiculous. Your weapons, from guns, to daggers to lightsabers, must become a part of you, be one with your body just like your arms and legs. You can possibly be an Assassin's personality in the way they design their weapons, whether they are artistic or rough, or delicate or ritualistic for example. For me? I am still learning about myself, hence why my six daggers look completely different from one another.

Considering the Force.

For a Sith aspiring to become an Assassin, here are the Force abilities I know of and believe will aid the Sith to complete the task at hand. Force Mask. Using this alchemy induced skill, the user is able to disguise their face, body, gender and even species. But bare in mind that each step takes a long time and hard dedication to be successful. One can use this to hide their true identity and still be able to roam in the public eye with no issues.

Next would be any of the mental abilities. I quite favour the following: Affect Mind, Force Fear, Force Affliction, Force Subjugate, Force Illusion, Mind Shard, Crush Opposition, Dominate Mind, Force Horror, Force Insanity and Drain Knowledge. The skills I know that I want to learn are most of these. If I had to pick the most important of these, I would say, Drain Knowledge. This gives the ability to withdraw any and all knowledge and glorious information from your victim's mind. Why I believe that mental abilities are important for an Assassin is because you need every tool available to not only murder silently but to also get information from your prey, and any information is good information, even a person's fears and hopes. If skilled enough, an Assassin can use such things against their victim to bring more pain and suffering.

There may be other Force abilities that can be useful, but my knowledge is limited. Soon, I will broaden this topic more. For now, this will have to do.

Entry 3: Meaning behind a Name.

Power. Where does it originate? In the manner of how you speak? How you wield a weapon? The manner how to take a life or spare one? It starts in a form that many would not expect: a name. There is power behind the examples I have given, and there are other examples, of course. Yet, how I understand it, by mentioning a name, people will know what power lies in that person, whether the power is portrayed in a positive or negative light. Most Sith do not care about their names, as they seek to show power in other means, which is not necessary a negative aspect, but more of beginning your journey in the middle and not at the start.

To show power, is to get others to know your name. The more your name is uttered on various lips, the more power you gain. A name leaves a legacy, and it is up to the future generations to ensure the name continues to be strong and worthy. However, life is not perfect. There will be those who carry a powerful name, and just decides to bring dishonour to it with no gain nor value. This is what happened to the name of Vipion.

One man was responsible of bringing utter shame and disarray to my family name, even though he holds this proud name. All I can hope is that my Uncle will see the errors in his ways, realise that he chose to side with imbeciles, and abandon a treaty between our family and the Horusets. Maybe it was his betrayal that drove my father away. It matters not, my Uncle matters not. It is up to me now to continue the legacy left by my father, and by my grandfather.

I am both nervous and excited to embark on this journey, just like my ancestors who fought hard and gave it their all to ensure that the name Vipion would persevere. I am now in the footsteps and the shadow of my ancestors, and I ask for their guidance. I will stop at nothing to have the name Vipion strong once again, to be rid of the shame that has fallen on this name, and see the legacy continue for generations to come. I refuse to let my family down. I am a true Vipion, and I will see my family's name restored. Nothing and no one, not even my Uncle, will get in my way.

Soti tuti ri Vipion.

Pure is the Vipion.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
