Public Call for Operation Team Assembly
[Image: PhotoEditor_20190806_162534179.jpg]

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Attached to this file would be a prerecorded holomessage that, when selected, would begin the play. The message would come to life with an image of Sith Kaer, Lorekeeper of House Horuset. The transmission was displayed in electric blue, as Sith Kaer stood tall and firm, watching the viewer. Her long hair would be tied up in a high ponytail and rested over her right shoulder. Her attire would be of hard metal, a look many are use to seeing her walking around in, within the Estate and the Th'Asidra. Her hands would be before her stomach, her arms rested on her hips while her fingers interlocked with one another. Even though the imagery was an electric blue, Sith Kaer's expression was clear as daylight. Her eyes glowing and focused, as she stared at the viewer with a cold stern expression. Her tone matched her expression, as she spoke with a serious nature and authority:

"Members of the Horuset Powerbase. Some time ago, just before we were deployed for Orsus, we were dealing with SithSpawn on Dromund Kaas. In the last mission, it was Lord Kalkoran and Lord Sanguinis who brought an end to the rogue Sith creator of those foul creatures. However, the plague did not end with his death as we had hoped.

I have received a couple of reports that some of the creatures have survived that battle that some of you fought in, and those creatures are breeding. We should bring an end of those creatures who took many lives within our ranks. At the current moment, I only have one location of a potential nest. I need six to eight brave individuals to go to this location, destroy the nest and lessen the number of the creatures.
For this mission, the best result to destroy the nest is to go in the evening when the creatures are most active. I heard a report that a scout when in there during the day, and never came out, while his screams echoed through the jungle. This particular cave, I was told is a small one, hence a small group needed. Should any Acolytes participate, I will organise that they are given Vibroblades for this mission only, along with armor plating for their chests. For those who sign up, I will reward each individual with a gift and will earn my favour.

Force serve.."

At her last words, the image of Sith Kaer would disappear, bringing the recorded message to an end. Only now leaving the viewer the opportunity to access the information left behind by the Lorekeeper.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Location: Dromund Kaas, a secluded area above a cliff, hidden in the jungles.

((OOCly: It is outside the Dromund Kaas Spaceport. The Nest is where the Presence +2 Datacron is!))

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Objectives: In this task, there will be two primary objectives and one secondary objective.

Primary Objective I: Destroy the SithSpawn Nest, making sure there are no eggs nor infants.

Primary Objective II: Kill the Mother of the Nest.

Secondary Objective I: Look for any survivors, be it Imperial scouts or civilians and have them questioned on other nests or any vital information.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Timeframe: The team will have 16 days to complete this task before the Nest grows and the team will be heavily outnumbered.
((The 9th of April will be the deadline!))

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recommended Party Size: For a successful mission, the party size should be between six to eight people. If too little people sign up, the mission will be scrapped.
((The GM does not take a slot, therefore there has to be 6-8 players actively participating. If the GM wishes to participate as well, only then will they take a slot!))

Report from Sith Sarias (Only Kaer and of course Lords and Ahandra can access this report).

The operation to secure the cave is succesful, the numbers of sithspawn within the cave as well as a significant number of their found eggsacks were destroyed to the flames and collasping cavewalls. The cave system was flooded partially with my bioweapon, so it should have prevented mass escapes further into the depths of the system

However, I would not count this initiative to see these creations purged in their entirety as fully successful. I sensed over a hundred initially, and even as we carved those numbers down significantly alongside their offspring, there is still the matter that there were more sithspawn within the caves than initiatially anticipated. Especially as I sensed more numbers further into the cave system. The main factors for our hindrance to reach further inside was the re-apperance of the humanoid sithspawn I captured alive a long time ago - the one currently in your care. It managed to stand up against significant trauma from Sith Tarati, and while it was disposed of, it came at a cost after a fragmentation grenade damaged both he and the sithspawn, and a misplaced flashbang grenade also saw the team blinded partially. Not enough to cause much damage to our progress or hinder my own efforts, but it gave the sithspawn a brief momemt of time where they could advance further".

The cave was sealed up on multiple points and we suffered no loses while they lost a significant amount. I managed to make some observations I will note below, and suggestions for the next steps to take, however I am skeptical if this will be the last we see of them. There is the possibility of the humanoid female having been the Mother - the limited light and rapid movements and swarms of darklings made it hard to confirm if it was identical to the one we have captured. ".

Observations
  • Reproduction is done through eggsacks, though so far only darklings were observed within
  • Bodies of dead imperials were offered up for the newly hatching young
  • A measure of communication through verbal production of a 'song', resounded through the cave. (Indicating sentience to a point, even in the darklings)
  • The humanoid Sithspawn did not attack the darklings - thus the blind hostily observed in our specimen is to be brought into question.
  • The darklings displayed the usual behavior reacting to light, indicating they have not mutated past their structural weaknesses and my current report on them stands true still.

Steps to consider next
  • Scouting of the surrounding cliff sides and jungles of where the last entrance was sealed shut, and marking areas to be observed should they create or find another opening.
  • Monitoring the surrounding areas at night remotely, should they be venturing outside to hunt in their active night phase.
  • Re-evaluating autopsies to look for reproductive organs in the darklings (males) and the captured humanoid sithspawn (whom by all accounts appear to only be female).
  • Harvesting the unknown venom from the humanoid sithspawn - its current effects and lethalty is unknown, creation of an antitode or at least its properties are understood by the time of our potential next encounter. We will have to ensure the humanoid is not damaged beyond healing however - it is more vital now than ever.

The following report would be sent directly to Kaer from Acolyte Elias, only members of the Conservancy or people shown by Kaer or Elias could access this report.

A Forgotten Fear: Mission Report
- Elias Zotam

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Preparation:
Prior to the mission Sith Sarias wrote a full document outlining the weaknesses of each creature, the tactics that we were to use and additional equipment we were to take. UV torches on our belts, some form of paralytic gas grenade of Sith Sarias' design and several UV floodlights. Acolytes were, of course, given some armour and vibroblades.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Deployment:
Sith Tarati took myself on the front line, Sith Sarias and the Imperials in the middle and Acolyte Sadraan covering the rear with Apprentice Dijomatasa handling the floodlights. This plan fell apart the moment we encountered a Darkling group, originally of no more than 15. Yet lack of clear orders resulted in the group growing into a horde too large to count. The formation fell apart, Sith Tarati charged ahead and to the right flank. Sith Sarias to the left. Imperial Gary on the far left firing rapidly into the horde and Imperial Thymius on the right with a flamethrower. This funnelled the darkling horde onto myself and Acolyte Sadraan, the two weakest forced to face the brunt of the horde. We held our ground, myself nearly dying to neck wounds, until I finally lost my nerve and called out in a panic to use the floodlights or gas grenades.
At this point everyone threw grenades, a flash bang blinding us all, Sith Sarias using her gas, and another Imperial throwing a standard grenade that almost killed Sith Tarati. Dijomatasa did not use floodlights, in the end I retreated to activate them to try and thin the horde attacking us.
The large number of explosions causing the cave to partially collapse, before we could confirm the eradication of the Sithspawn.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Conclusion:
- Although preparation was done, it was mostly useless as none of it was used until the group was almost overwhelmed and torn apart.
- Leadership wasn't clear, leading to confusion during the conflict.
- A large humanoid, possibly a brood mother(?) was definitely killed.
- An immense number of smaller creatures were killed.
- No larger creatures from Sith Sarias' document were seen.
- There was almost certainly more deeper into the cave which may now escape through openings from the collapse.
- We found two survivors, wounded Imperials left for the hatchlings. We acted too slowly and they were devoured. More survivors may have been deeper into the cave.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I apologise if this report is going above my station, my Lord. I thought it necessary you received an honest and unfiltered report to fully know the situation left by this deployment. I am sure the creatures will need dealing with again and this mission failed in eradicating them.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
