PUBLIC CALL FOR RECOVERY AND RECON TEAMS

After a few moments the file loads a map of our territories. The ruins of Rennar and Twoarch are denoted in stark black.

"We lost territory and denied it from the Republic. Some of our own were left behind in this bombardment and they are beginning to trickle back. We are placing medical shuttles near the front of those destroyed territories in order to evacuate them. I want assistance in this.”

“Recon of these locations is also needed but should be more carefully done. I will be attaching information on the Jedi we faced along with information on the extended medical packs created by Corporal Haldeen.”

“It is important that you identify these wounded in case of infiltration. Do not engage with Republic elements where possible. They are likely doing the same. If you cannot identify them, have their gear removed and do scans. Have them sequestered until we can be certain with a comparison with genetic records, place them where there are extra guards and continue as normal. If they prove to be uninjured, this requires extra caution."

The briefing ends.

Location: Anx minor, Varath, Twoarch, Anek, Rennar
OOC Location: Same

Added info:

My Lord,

We made several discoveries. To list just my own:
  • The bodies of dead Imperials were being displayed in the town, showing signs of torture.
  • The gang that took over are lead by a former Mosilan mechanic. It seems they did not all die in the desert, not even close in fact.
  • There is a strong anti-empire sentiment because of this.
  • The republic is using tracked vehicles to sneak into Rennar at night
  • The republic is maintaining an overwatch of snipers on the mountain some 800m to the north.
  • The gang have access to an amount of Imperial weaponry left behind in the battle.
  • It is implied there are other camps in the desert.
  • The gang additionally control the refugees by maintaining a "useful scrap for water" policy where all are expected to scavenge for their keep.
  • The water itself is un-purified and potentially radioactive.
  • Syllel attempted to contact the Republic to medevac a wounded civilian. She maintains it was to deliberately trigger Imperial reprisal, but this was only offered as an explanation afterwards.
  • The former shield generator remains where it was, but was heavily stripped for parts and would need several days work to repair.

My lord,

Here is the follow up to my initial report.

Summarized for efficiency:
-The civilians in Rennar are being directly supported by the republic in the manner of supplies.
-The republic encourages the refugees to take what they need from the bodies and to train to fight the empire.
-The refugees have since started training themselves and their families for combat against the sith.
-These refugees seem to be derived from all over affected territories and while officially they are working together there is little cohesion, trust, or fellowship. They appear factional and divided.
-Pirates have been raiding supplies successfully and stealing vital things like safe food and valuables. I will need to do further investigation to determine if other pirate bands beyond the Passik Kru are active and if so, how to reach them.
-The republic, while not actively turning away refugees, is not actively housing them. This means they must be camped out somewhere, likely nearby as they all seemingly fled in the same north, north-easterly direction.
-The refugees that were present at Rennar are mostly scattered and facing high casualties after the directed bombardment.

The refugees, as previously stated, are highly spiteful towards the empire post displacement and the nuclear mining that ITEC conducted seems to have had little effect other than incensing them to further violence. Judging from the fact that they are not all dying of radiation poisoning they are receiving treatment and/or supplies of medicine, likely from the republic. I would have wished to blend further with the fleeing refugees to see where they retreated back to but unfortunately it was between that and ensuring the listening device was planted successfully. It was, however I will need to place a signal booster to reach it as the republic has moved the bugged woman deeper into the territory. Speculatively, this could mean that their medical facilities near the front line are swamped or inadequately supplied to deal with her wounds, which could be a vital clue as to their current supplies. I should hopefully have more information in the coming time.

On an additional side note, the refugees are scavenging our equipment, seemingly en mass, but they have a degree of ineptitude when working with imperial technology. Likely due to unfamiliarity. We can capitalize on this by trapping supplies and waiting for the inevitable scavenging to inflict casualties. This would serve a dual purpose of discouraging further raiding of supplies and promoting a new degree of caution to pilfer imperial supplies, thus denying at least some of our foes the ability to re-utilize our weapons. After all, the newer mark of blaster is unique to Horuset at the moment and we should take steps to try and minimize the republic's chances to reverse engineer the technology.

If possible I would like to further investigate the refugee population and see if we can discover where their networks are located along with their hideouts, of course that will be left up to your own discretion along with that of the conservancy. I would also like to investigate more into the situation with pirates and see how many are involved and in what way. These forces appear to be highly effective at sowing terror and despair and if they are not already aligned with the house it will be good to look in on including such assets.

My Lord,

As requested the mission report which included to scout and assess the damage, and search for survivors in Rennar. This report will contain a detailed and accurate version of events from my perspective.

Upon arrival in Rennar we sensed various Lightsided lifeforms, after further inspection we discovered that this was a place where refugees come together to gather scraps and for a clean supply of water, as many are suffering from radiation sickness because of the contaminated water. We blended in amongst the refugees and learned that the Republic is aiding them with food and water, and that there are also plans of the Republic to aid the resistance.

Conversing went well, further details regarding this have already been mentioned, until suddenly a blaster went off. It turned out that a woman had blown herself up, causing her to slowly bleed out unless she got the proper care. One that Syllel or myself could not give in the field. Syllel found the injured woman first and another refugee mentioned that the Republic would help them and had the means to. However, they had no way of transporting her, and Syllel insisted on returning the woman to the Republic frontline, to get their exact location and plant a bug with a tracking device that she had with her to access and jam the comms of the Republic. Which in itself was not a bad plan, however her execution was reckless and dangerous.

After planting the tracker onto the woman, since there was no way of transporting the wounded refugee, Syllel tried to contact the Republic to request a MEDEVAC and have her picked up. Syllel was warned by multiple refugees that she would be heard by us. And she was. In doing so Syllel caused our own artillery to be activated and aimed at ourselves. We were hit with exactly 14 strikes. Apprentive Rhave had left right before this, realising the actions Syllel was taking and the consequences they would have. As I was still trying to convince her to stick to the mission, I was still there when the artillery hit as I had just began on my way back realising that she was too stubborn.

Fortunately, the only people that got hit were some refugees. After this I left Syllel on her own since she still refused to come with me. She decided to deliver the woman to the Republic herself. Upon my return to Varath, I immediately clarified what had happened. And it became clear that the fact that Syllel wandered off to the enemy posed another threat, the captivity and extraction of vital information that she might carry. Now nothing of what I’m a about to mention would have been the call of those that were there, but rescueing her and risking the lifes of more Sith would have been unwise. So the other option that was discussed was to use our artillery again and ensure that Syllel would die at our hand, not at the hand of the Republic to ensure that any information she might carry remained safe.

Syllels current location and status were unknown for a while until she somehow returned back after a while. I am unsure what exactly happened when she was on her own, and in her report she fails to mention what has occurred. But not only is her safe return suspicious, but it also makes me question if she even made it to the Republic frontlines. It is to my knowledge that the nomansland in the desert is impossible to cross without being detected. So it is curious that she allegedly managed to cross it without getting a single scratch. So unless she has a good explanation for that, she either never made it and lied, or the Republic let her pass. But that is speculation of course.

To conclude, Syllel’s own recklessness and impulsiveness nearly caused my and her own death. She risked information to be leaked, potentially endangering the entire war effort. She ignored the chain of command by wandering off on her own deep into enemy territory without permission. She has filed a report of her own justifying her actions, and she has mentioned that the risks were worth it since she ‘succeeded’. Yet it is still unclear what she exactly has achieved and what the results of that were, if any. But I am sure that the right actions will be taken in regards of what has occurred.

UPDATE: SITH VIPION

Myself, Varrixon, the Specialist, and the Nautolan acolyte (who did the talking) infiltrated the refugee camp, with myself remaining obfuscated. Thousands and thousands of refugees to the east, presumably leading up to Largona. Miserable, and tactically inconvenient with the location of the space elevator. It is a way for the Republic to easily sneak in and out, and fortifying this entrance and exit point will be critical for our future defenses.

To the north-west, Rennar's area of influence stops right at a canyon. We will need to cover that too to prevent commandos from entering and exiting. It is possible this is where the former Sensor Array tunnel goes. We also want this covered if we are to make any assaults north.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
