Subject: Yarrick IV Item-Retrieval operation for Sith Lord Sanguinis.
Introduction
The aim of this report is to highlight the mission approach and outcomes to the objectives set by Lord Sanguinis in his mission file.
(Operation: Risking Nostalgia)
Primary Objective was twofold, the recovery of a sith lightsaber crystal.
and the recovery of an encrypted datapad.
Secondary objective was to asses the value of the outpost to the house, and if deeemed worthy, placing a beacon to claim it within the House's Area of Influence.
Mission Procedure
The AO(Area of Operation) was subdivided into sectors, and each sector was thoroughly searched before moving to the next untill all sectors was cleared. The sectors were, Bunker Exterior01, Bunker Main Interior, Bunker Inner Room, Bunker Rear Interior and Bunker exterior02. From the shuttle LZ (Landing Zone), Sith Siors divided us into columm formation, Imperials covering flank ahead of the squad with an acolyte behind each wing. Each sector was first secured of hostiles and searched for the packages while perimeters set up to protect the area.
Mission Outcome
What we found were in total 50+ of non-decomposing and partially decomposed bodies of hostile troops, untouched from our previous encounter during the Third war on heresy. In the Inner room, still funtioning defense countermeasures were activated by the team, resulting in two war droids (mark-two) to ambush from the two adjacent pillars on either side of the rooms. Due to the spread of the team, Sith Siors subdued one droid aided by both acolytes and Private Cinn. I pacified the other, incurring injury in the process. The Primary objectives were fulfilled, lightsaber crystal and datapad secured by Sith Siors with the help of Acolyte Nedhorroc and Sara. Weather conditions were rapidly declining and we had 10 minutes to evacuate, it was decided that the outpost would be salvaged and a beacon was activated, fulfilling the Secondary objective.
Conclusion
Given the cicumstances, the mission is an excellent success with only one team member injured. Our scouting parameters were for thermal and motion signatures for local fauna as protocol would indicate, it would have been much better to also monitor EM signatures as well to detect the ambush from droids however this could have not been very feasibly done by the equipment we carried. From this I reccomend a specialised instrument for EM detection to be carried on to the field, as our scanners would need to be extensively modified for such detailed and precise applications, thus excluding the viability of on-field improvisational modifications of scanners. I suggest a specialised setting with the accompanying modular attachments to our pre-existing scanners.
Appendix
The addendums here are my personal observations:
Sith siors seemed experienced in imperial standard tactics, as he handled the formations well, had a good idea on what should be done from an imperials standpoint and relegated command tasks to me appropriately. I have yet seen him truly under fire as I have while serving under Lord Sanguinis, though the time may come anyday. I'll be looking forward to working with him again.
Private Cinn, though tending to be cautious, has shown aptitude befitting of an exemplar Imperial graduate, throughout the mission she had guessed my intentions before I spoke the commands and had the tact to pose them as a suggestion. Sith Siors agreed to her suggestion thus increasing my trust in her judgment. Very proud to have her on board.
