Updated by the Head Alchemist, Lord Sarias - the quiet speaker reports has been de-classified, under grounds of the 'Rage of Rhelg' and its surrounding cults having re-emerged
This is meant as a place to gather all the reports of those who visited Greypost. This is for people to post updates and information on Greypost as they investigate it.
Sith Sarias and I split into two sections while Lord Kalkoran commanded both sides and generally investigated. At several points, the groups blended together. I can only tell the story from my side of it.
My section had Luvane, Nivalis, and Hozan with me. Approaching the village, a very strong force presence could be sensed from an area that we could later determine was from the "AG complex", a place built over a former oasis that used to be the basis of the town. The complex was relatively recently built over the oasis.
We travelled to the village in question and discovered Imperials attempting to repair a vehicle that had been shot with a rocket launcher from inside the village. They told us that things had been strange and there had been multiple disappearances. It is important to note that we never found this rocket launcher.
Approaching the village, it appeared empty, though life could be sensed inside. We stepped in to find it somewhat abandoned, and I went to open one of the doors and was accosted by citizens with blasters and weapons that began to fire upon me as I drew my lightsaber. The rest of the party engaged, discovering that they were very alive but also very much not in control of themselves, affected by a dark sided presence. We cut them down and I was sent with my party to clear other side buildings. Luvane prayed to the gods and was not fired at; uncertain whether or not this was because of his lack of aggression or not.
Throughout this, Luvane claimed to be contacted by the entity in the village and was in contact through it; at some points instructed to leave or stay, and generally conversing with it. Luvane is not currently answering what happened to any degree of lucidity but his testimony will be very important. The group could sense this entity in general throughout this excursion though it did not attack us; it also spoke to Haldeen and generally communicated with the party at points indirectly, but not in an unfriendly way.
My story is only half the story. I largely stuck to the side buildings and the medbay and tried to keep an eye on Luvane. We met up at various points and tried to search for an entry below a school. There was clearly something very wrong going on. All at once, the entity seemed to disappear, perhaps after finding what it was looking for with us.
Despite the entity following us and communicating with us, it was not aggressive to us. In fact, the villagers seemed to be only defensively aggressive.
Many others have been investigating this and will have more to write, as shall I as I remember it. Updates are to follow...
Building 1:
Three rooms within it. One had bloody handprints upon the wall despite it not having any footprints in the dust in the ground. The second had a doctor who was digging within the stomach of a Devaronian, muttering. I tried to engage him in conversation and he pulled a scalpel on me and was killed by Hozan. The next room had a crate of severed lips in it. Checking the Devaronian revealed more severed lips inside its chest cavity.
Building 2:
Not occupied by possessed villagers; however, it had a family of four, three of whom sat around the table while one was crawling towards the door, still burned.
Building 3:
Had an imperial captain with a gunshot wound to his head, self-inflicted, and a journal entry attached to him. Seemed to tell the story of building 2.
Medbay:
Had a single medical droid with its responses corrupted It appears to have been programmed for "plastic surgery" and was removing lips from villagers. Medical droid was destroyed. Informed the party that things had been very chaotic days earlier but it was now silent. The entity did not change when the faces were revealed of pureblooded people; however, the room grew colder when Nivalis removed his helmet.
Recovered:- Multiple corpses including that of Dr Reilon, currently being autopsied
- Multiple blood samples
- Journal entries
- Corpses of family (burned)

One of the local kids reported something a little odd today. Her mother brought her in because she thought she must have hit her head, since the girl was reporting hallucinations. She said that she heard ‘somebody trying to speak from under the ground’. No sign of head trauma though. Oh well, kids act like that sometimes. I have better things to worry about with that strange group of researchers coming through. Gelt said he thought they were Reclamation Service, and those tosspots always get themselves injured cracking open one ruin or another, so I’ll have to clean them up. Don’t look much like Imperials though. Luckily we’ve had no attacks from, or even sightings of, the rebels lately, the less trouble from them the better. Maybe they moved on?

They came to me. No faces, no mouth to smile. Too many smiles. Too many mouths. That can’t be right, it doesn’t make sense. What is happening? I don’t
Hm. My clients won’t stop talking about the voices below the school. Maybe I’ll go see. Go listen. Listen. Listen. Listen. Listen. Listen. Listen… (after a while of this repeating the document corrupts, becoming an unreadable mass of data artefacts.)

"There have been a number of strange occurrences in Greypost these last few days. I would request additional reinforcement from the Imperial authorities but they tend to react harshly when communities like ours have issues that might undermine their precious efficiency. We still haven't caught the arsonist who burned down the Kelson's house. I still haven't been able to get that out of my head. They were all in there, but only one was screaming... Those new Imperials have requested access to the school, said something about wanting to investigate within. They don't act, or dress, much like any imperials I've met before, maybe they're IRS? Either way, their access codes checked out. They've been in there a few days now. Or was it a week? My head has been so foggy lately. If they ever leave the school they can help us with our rebel problem. Sure, they’ve not been attacking, say our garrison, but we’ve had a damn sight too many missing people for them not to be up to something.”

UPDATE: SITH VIPION
GREYPOST VILLAGE- Jaguada is an ancient Sith world with thousands of years of Sith history in it. This means that whatever is happening in this village may be very very old. To give context, this planet was first settled the same time that Ziost was first settled. Most citizens have been assimilated into Imperial culture, however a few older remnants exist, including a group that apparently takes care of the oasis around Greypost. I intend to personally visit some of these hamlets to ask more, and I will bring others.
Luvane is still in rough shape, stuck in some form of a waking nightmare. I will let Sith Sarias and others fill in information on their side of the mission to give important context...

UPDATE: Viren Sekker
I have attempted to research both the symbol uncovered during this investigation and the local area around Greypost in the hope of discerning something about the origin or nature of the Cult we appear to be dealing with.
Thus far my research has uncovered only small facets of information which nonetheless provide insight. The only reference I was able to find to the symbol associated with the cult - that of the eye with the droplet of blood - was in a small note made by a previous investigation into a "movement" associated with this symbol. The report did not specify if the movement was political, religious, fanatical, or even a literal exodus of people - but did flag it as potentially disruptive, though I could find no following reports to indicate if it had been confronted or not. This does Indicate that the organisation (or at least the symbol) has existed since long before the treaty of Coruscant - though after the Great Hyperspace War.
On the assumption that the entity or spirit encountered was tethered to Greypost itself, I also researched the nearby area's geography; discovering in the process that the area has been frequented by Nomads for some time, but that no structures (temples, tombs etc) are recorded as being in the area that would become Greypost or the nearby Oasis Agricultural Complex. This agricultural complex has not been performing excavation or deep digging, which leads me to believe they have not unearthed a hitherto unknown tomb or temple. It is possible that if such a tomb exists that houses the Spirit or Entity, it is elsewhere on Jagunda, which gives a worrying impression of the reach of the entity's power.
I also came across a hand drawn example of the symbol in a book within a private collection, and have begun tracing the sale of the book through these channels in the hope it will lead me to the individual who owned the book at the time the symbol was drawn in it; as they may provide a tangible connection to the organisation in the modern Empire, perhaps even a lead to their structure and composition. If this line of inquiry bears fruit, I shall file it in a future report.
I do have further theories than are written in this report, but as they are as of yet unconfirmed (And therefore little more than my estimations) I shall keep them from the official reports until information comes to light to render them fact rather than theory.

UPDATE: ESME ROI
Uploaded by Sith Vipion
[They for the most part recounted a tale that was already experienced, with her at the background and making an effort at least at the beginning to keep the villagers alive. She made careful notes that the Rocket Launcher was NEVER found for emphasis nor were any of the villagers seemingly capable of firing one. A shared experience by all involved. However, the key parts where her information and experience deviated and was relevant to the complied investigation were:]
...Lord Kalkoran requested someone with technical knowhow. I responded, though it wasn't really my specialty, I'd worked on Imperial Speeders and so had a basic grasp on engineering concepts. I was instructed to investigate the Moisture Vaporators, due to the fact he sensed them or their general area as dark side relevant. they were otherwise standard Imperial tech. I found no sign of use in a few days. This led me to share my theory that it's disuse either signaled the timeframe where the village ceased to function or alternatively, that it's lack of use indicated that the new water supply was related to the cause of the villages decay. I took a water sample in my canteen and offloaded it to Sith Vipion for further investigation. It seemed unremarkable but I am no toxicologist or expert in mystic arts.
While I was investigating the vaporators I found the Specialist present behaving oddly. Though by the time I intervened two other Sith, Apprentice Vayek and Apprentice Ghul were already present and dealing with the situation
I was ordered to investigate their shuttle next. The timeframe on the devices usage on the departure request terminal seemed consistent with the disuse of the Vaporators. I entered my Imperial ID and accessed the vessel. I investigated its records for inconsistencies and found little of interest.
[The rest once again unremarkably connects to the group experience at the time. She is shown to be generally perturbed by the entire encounter but also equally clueless, there isn't any notes about any irregularities of her mind, illusions or such, so it's safe to say she avoided or didn't notice most of the odd spiritual occurrences.]

UPDATE: ZARTILDA VARRIXON
Uploaded by Sith Tarimra
We were called down due to problems with a town going weird and rebellious. Upon arrival, we saw a shuttle that had been downed - and going in, we prepared for the worst. The civilians were armed with a variety of weapons, but they were also in a fugue state, stating... something I can't remember off the top of my head.
Dispatching them quickly, I stuck with the group led by Sith Sarias. We were investigating a schoolhouse, where it seems some barricades had been put up and it had been used as temporary shelter. We found, on one of the beds, a keycard to a locked room. The classroom leading to it had an eye symbol which is attached to the report, on a board.
The room itself had an altar with symbols, a gem atop it. There were bodies around it, throats slit and the blood drained previously to going there. One had a simple map nailed to his chest to the Pit of the Disloyal, and the altar's runes were of no array we could recognize. The stones were local sandstone.
There was also a rhyme written on the altar.
“Our path grows ever darker, longer
The work before you laid
Our people must forever wander
This thing a quiet madness made”
Upon touching the altar, Apprentice Luvane shrieked and nearly collapsed, but I caught him. In a wall, we found the body of a girl we surmised to be the first contact.
There was an entity moving bodies, messing with Specialist Haldeen, that Luvane was talking to in High Sith. Notably, the villagers had left him alone. When the entity faded, and the air was clearing, I suggested we grab the crystal for our psychometrists since it would be safe. Lord Kalkoran agreed.
Upon grasping it, it felt like cold metal on my neck, like a blade. I put it into a pouch and it was given to Apprentice Luvane at Lord Kalkoran's behest. We all exited after.
This concludes my experiences. Force serve.

My Lord,
At first, it was if someone was breathing in my neck. Then, footsteps appeared in the sand- bare feet, larger than usual. Then I can clearly recall a hoarse voice speaking to me- as if he stood next to me. He.. Or it, spoke of killing everyone and that I needed to smile. I threw a smoke grenade at the place the footsteps had appeared, thinking it could be something invisible, and I saw a giant claw coming out of the smoke. That is actually it..
It was something I never had heard of before, nor encountered...

UPDATE: SITH SARIAS
Interrogation report of Shelo, recovered suvivor of mind influence incident at Black Sands
Attending: Darth Horuset, Sith Sarias
At the request of Sith Sarias, a survivor of recent investigations into Black Sands was brought on-board the flagship for further investigations into the mental affliction found in Black Sands. The mental affliction renders them with a perception of "everything being fine", despite being faced with horrors of loved ones dying in gore-filled manners.
"Asked of any family in Black Sand, he mentioned a girlfriend - one of the victims burnt alive from the fires he escaped. Called out by the Dark Lord, he began to break and claimed not remembering much of the incident - dulled facades breaking apart, his distress grew more noteable. Siezing opprutunity, the Dark Lord cast upon him a convincing illusion of his girlfriend's fate amongst the flames - finally breaking the affliction's hold".
"In a normal but traumatized state, Shelo spoke of "The Quiet speaker, The Black Brother and A lamentation". The presence lingering over him as it broke away, reflected a sense of glee and enjoyment to his despair and horror felt. Behind it, lingering sensations of boredom was followed - indicating the presence behind it all, is trying to escape monotony".
Actions taken
- Shelo has been transfered to a secure medical wing for monitoring of influence re-emerging, research and if he makes a recovery. Sith Vipion has been placed in charge of said monitoring.
- Two families of an afflicted hamlet has been secured, currently held in holding cells in the flagship's brig. All are monitored, and are awaiting blood samples to be taken. Potentially subjects for testing means of breaking the affliction reliably. Dead banthar's of the hamlet have been recovered as well, to undergo necropsy.

UPDATE: SITH VIPION
"I was to test the method through which the entity was feeding off of those it affected. Study results revealed that the entity is feeding, even at a distance, and capable of speech."
"I had Altiarx and Evelyn kill a recovered civilian that was from Jaguada and had confirmed dark side presence within his mind. We did this on Th'asidra while I sensed them and multiple attending people were able to confirm the feeling of the energy, life force, going elsewhere; Tse'kira was able to determine very far away. We did this on Th’asidra over Kaas. I didn’t expect this to work from such a distance.”
“Travelling down to Blacksand, we repeated this process. Evelyn held the knife to him and the the entity stirred in his mind. Wanting to test and see if it could hear me or at the very least comprehend me, I informed the man that I brought it- the entity- something to eat. i did this in High Sith, waited for a response, didn’t get one, and had the two kill him again.
“The Dark sided presence increased once we were done over time, becoming almost a beacon. We were able to coordinate the presence to the pit of the disloyal; a sense of dark sided energy.”
"Our theorizing was interrupted by the arrival of a man stumbling forth; an old man who had some bruising upon his chest, pulling it back to reveal the high sith rune for "thank you" written with a broad, twisted smile. He was clearly possessed by the entity. I waved. The man waved back. Lord Saltaeon killed him telekinetically. I scryed the rune and could tell it was the entity's strange, black claws bruising it in. That body is in storage now."
"I left a scroll and a container of the blood from the sacrificed civilian on the ground. We took the body with us. Esme thinks she saw the entity from a distance watching us, but it disappeared upon being noticed. We left a camera behind."
"Later that night, Sith Sarias' camera went down, and I was able to see, just in time, the same thing occur to mine. I contacted the old guard- Jennings- from Blacksand and we were able to send a probe droid around the place to discover that the creature drew a crude smiling face on a wall, like a child, with a rock. The blood I left was gone."
"I had the probe droid follow the footprints of the possessed man back to the outpost known as the "pit of the disloyal". I am continuing to send probe droids to watch. I picked up the rock the creature allegedly drew a smiley face with."
"Jennings put me in touch with Zarvia, a nomad from a local tribe. She said the creature was both a bad omen and a newborn. We agreed to speak to her and I’m writing this on the shuttles there."
"Of note, it appears that most of the party had nightmares and dreams of the entity and Jaguada; those who travelled that night, or perhaps just the ones who participated in the killing. I will have to confirm this..."

- Apprentices/Neophytes Esme, Evelyn, Altiarx, Viren, Zartilda, Tse’Kira, Zikarn

Summary
When we arrived, we spoke with a woman who seemed to be the leader of the local nomad population; Zarvia, who carried a variation of Sith runes on her arms as tattoos, likely a descendant language. She was assisted by Lieutenant Delwan, a rodian, though the woman spoke for them all. She had been having dreams of the entity for weeks, and that it had been killing members of their group, who settled there at the Sith’s command thirty years prior. Zarvia herself has not been present for long. They call the Black Brother 'D’yase Bloyati', which translates to 'Quiet Speaker', translated from Walker’s Cant, their language. It seems to be a descendant language of Common Sith. She and her people have been targeted by the Quiet Speaker for a few weeks, and suspect the entity targets them based on Sith blood; a theory entertained by the gathered group. The woman eventually confirmed that the entity was 'Kshu'jot'—born or created—on Jaguada.
This suggests that the Quiet Speaker was created; possibly in the Pit of the Disloyal. The Rodian confirmed that it had warned its superiors that it was ‘at risk’; that it was being used by rebels—Jaguadan separatists—as rumours had already suggested. They wield cheap equipment and possess little training. It was revealed that the AG Complex will be shut down in a few days if staff numbers do not return to usual levels, this was confirmed by the Rodian through the influence of the Force; before such, he seemed hesitant to admit it. Sith Vipion possibly intends to send civilians or droids to bring such back to reasonable levels of productivity.
Zarvia has, in her dreams, been seeing “Dark, cruel things.” Apparently, the Quiet Speaker is waiting for something; Zarvia suggested it might be waiting for Sith; it seems happy when Sith arrive but is still aggressive regardless of its joy. It is possible that Sith are easier vessels; that they are capable of carrying its influence without breaking under it. In any case, a description of the Quiet Speaker has been acquired: “A black mass with teeth, and a figure walking through the desert.”
As instructed by Sith Vipion and myself, the Speaker summoned a nomad elder, who spoke of the Desert Mother: an older deity at the head of the pantheon. These appear to be the gods of the Sith, albeit twisted and corrupted by centuries of isolation. They are, with the associated Sith gods noted in italics:
- The Desert Mother: Marserha Jochor
- Zintha, Spear-Sister: Zyantha
- Ketham, Bow-Brother: Mekhath
- Zarkal, Blade-Brother: Hezarkal
- The Cold Night: Vorket
- Tyro’ga, Incense-Bearer: Typhojem
- Garvak, Chain-Bringer: Urgak-Val
- Falsir, Soft-Speaker: Hes’falda
- Themyr, Water-Prince: Slythmnr
Asking further on the topic of divinity, it was admitted that the nomads do not worship the Quiet Speaker/Black Brother; they see it as a demigod but not a god in its own right, and confirmed that it had indeed been created. How is unknown to them. Further, it was said that while some deviants may worship the Quiet Speaker, such is heresy and should be punished. It should be noted that, despite the similarity in names, the Quiet Speaker and the Soft-Speaker (Hes’falda) are different entities. Nevertheless, it seems that the Quiet Speaker is trying its hardest to associate itself with the Soft-Speaker; Hes’falda. This can be seen in that it drew a smiling face over the runes describing Falsir, the Soft-Speaker; the Soft-Speaker, it should be noted, is known to grin and laugh, through its aspect as a trickster god. Additionally, a series of impressions was left behind on an altar, recorded by Sith Vipion:
- The Desert Mother: Palm Trees
- Zintha, Spear-Sister: Spearhead
- Ketham, Bow-Brother: Arrows
- Zarkal, Blade-Brother: Shortsword
- The Cold Night: Knife of knapped flint
- Tyro’ga, Incense-Bearer: incense sticks
- Garvak, Chain-Bringer: A single link of a chain
- Falsir, Soft-Speaker: A smiling face
- Themyr, Water-Prince: A jug of water
Conclusion::
Through this expedition, we have learned several key points regarding the entity, the area, and the people it seeks to control.
The Quiet Speaker
- Primarily, the Quiet Speaker is concerned with Sith Blood; perhaps it realises the strength therein and seeks to use such for its gain.
- Its primary targets are members of the Sith Order. It seems elated whenever one arrives, and such is to be noted for similar reasons as above: it likely seeks to feed on such for its gain.
- The Quiet Speaker seeks to portray itself as a god-like being, or possibly as an aspect of Hes’falda, known there as the Soft-Speaker. This is done through imitating symbolism associated with Hes’falda; the smiling mouth.
- The ritual Sith Zarchas scried is likely the birth or creation of the entity through Sith Sorcery and/or Alchemy.
- Some deviants may worship the Quiet Speaker as a god; these should be hunted down and purged.
The AG Complex and Outpost Q162
- The AG Complex is to be shut down if it does not regain usual levels of productivity, despite the Rodian in charge desperately trying to cover this up. It should be tried for treason, and the Complex should be restaffed with droids.
- Outpost Q162, also known as the Pit of the Disloyal, is the main quarter of Jaguadan separatists, likely operating under the influence of the Quiet Speaker. They operate with faulty equipment and little training.
- Outpost Q162 is the likely hiding place of the two remaining crystals, and, speaking hypothetically, is possibly the ‘birthplace’ of the Quiet Speaker.
Addendum
Lieutenant Delwar has been stripped of his rank and title. Oversight of the AG facility has been transferred to Zarvia, who acts as a civilian overseer, with a military advisor to be selected from the NCOs.

UPDATE: SITH SARIAS
Sithspawn interaction and reactions
Attending: Sith Sarias, Apprentice Sutta'qo
Prior interactions with one of my Sithhounds, prompted a theory that the "quiet speaker", may be reactive to its presumed alchemical origins - a prevailing theory being its a sithspawn. I brought a true sithspawn and two of my hounds planetside, with a winged creation to scout from the skies as we moved. Using a Vornsker to trace force presences, we trailed it south from the AG Complex, now manned by Zarvia
"Moving south, a camp with anti-imperial insignias were found - matching the armour markings of the blood-drained mercenaries first encountered in Greypost. Mundane of note, a single tent's interior was covered in the blood of an estimated 3-4 individuals. The Vornsker was able to trace the presence back to its lair - Outpost Q162, "The Pit of the Disloyal".
"Assigning Apprentice Sutta'qo to watch the outpost a from a far, safe distance, the shuttle with slaves was brought on a site slightly more remote - ready for a swift departure. Reaching out, I connected to my true-crafted sithspawn - having it burn alive one of the slaves, the other left simple dead. I invited to the "Quiet Speaker" that I desired to know how it was created, leaving it two offerings in return. Sensing a beginning reaction, the sithspawn and beasts were immediately ordered back onto the shuttle and Sutta'qo called to my position for departure".
"It was then a mass of...inky black tendrils, teeth, mouths and hands forming, reshaping crashed out through the outpost's doors. Mental pressure on us mounting, the shuttle began to depart. Yet the creature crossed up to fifty feet of desert in seconds. Attempted telekinetic powers were ineffective, yet a strike from lighting saw its flesh boil. Roars quieted, its maws opening releasing sounds beyond our pitch of hearing. Thus was it the pressures rose sharply, laughs, cruel joys attempted forced on our minds. We managed to escape, though Apprentice Sutta'qo was taken to the medical bay following to ensure he was not possessed after passing out.
"He has been cleared of any influence, and is marked for a full recovery".
Outcome
"The Quiet Speaker", "Kshu'jot"
- Confirmed to be residing in Outpost Q162, "The Pit of the Disloyal"
- Measures 10x10 meters in with and height, but total mass and size limit unknown. The body appears to shift and change, humanoid hands shaping and dissolving into its body. Mass amounts of teeth and mouths are always present.
- Its able to cross distances at blinding speeds, crossing fifty sand meters in a matter of seconds.
- Lighting caused it pain and visibly boiled the part of its body touched. Telekenisis held no effect.
- Its screams can put heavy pressure on the mind, however, it seems to deliver its mind-influence via a high-pitched frequency. Leaving it inaudible for normal hearing ranges - however, when it hits, the sensations are immediate.
- A recording has been obtained of its movements, still image is attached.
- Due to the nature of the high-pitch frequency, testing has to be done to know if it can spread via audio or not. The only recording is kept in secure storage until testing can be conducted.
Aftermath Details
- A new probe has been depatched, replacing Sith Vipion's. Its direct video feed has been connected to her.
- The unburnt corpse has been left behind by the "Quiet Speaker", where it was killed - retrival of the corpse, may yield an answer as to why it was ignored. A chance remains it has left "clues" to its origins within or upon the corpse, answering the question posed to it. It has prior interacted with us in such a manner, if left offerings.
- An anti-imperial seperatist camp was located an hour north of Outpost Q162. Cleared, it has been marked on the map.

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!
|
"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."
((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
