Eddi's Holo-Diary [Not Available ICly]

#1
The holo display would flicker to life, showing Eddi in the bluish hues that seem to accentuate some features, while diminishing the others. He'd hum faintly to himself, his ungloved right hand moving to push his hair back into place.

"Quite a journey it's been... I began my time as Sith oh so many moons ago now, taken as Lord Kalkoran's apprentice. I admit, my time beneath him was short, seeing me reassigned elsewhere, but when taken by one as powerful as he, it always leaves a mark.." Eddi would pause, his eyes moving to the would-be-viewer, and then back to some distant point.

"Who knows? Maybe I would've stayed at the Directive, if only Tutam hadn't been reassigned, I may have earned my place as his apprentice. But who knows... Regardless, my return to the Horuset Powerbase was the right choice to make, finding my place beneath Tarimra's wing just as his fall began." Eddi would sigh deeply, closing his eyes for a moment, "But it truly is the best of both worlds now. I have Tutam's teaching, for a fair price, and I have returned once more to my place under Lord Kalkoran, I can't exactly complain, can I?"

Eddi would smile softly to himself, it would almost seem genuine to those who see it, though it's hard to tell on the holodisplay. "My work is far from over, though. I am making my moves towards being seen as the Assistant Blademaster, a role I never would've realised I wanted had I not returned... This is where I'm meant to be, I know this much, but can the process be sped up? Who is to say.."

Eyes opening once more, Eddi would fix his gaze on the viewer, or at least it would seem that way, before shaking his head gently. "I see my supposed peers, they specialise, and assume I do not, that I am a 'jack-of-all-trades', though my path is known, and I must be strong in all that will assist me in saber combat if I am ever to reach that.. Kari'da is a master of only her one set of skills, I would take being a 'jack-of-all-trades' over that, any day.."

"My work is ever moving onwards, and shall not cease.. To serve Lord Kalkoran once more as his apprentice, I must endeavour each day to please him. Or, at the very least, not to displease him, not to repeat mistakes long past. I must give him no reason to see me discarded once more. Thus, my work towards my goals shall never cease, and my work in his service shall continue. I will serve my Master until my dying breath, and his Powerbase the same. I must never waver, and never relent."

Eddi would take a deep breath in, allowing the words to settle in the air around him, before speaking once more. "For the Kalkoran Powerbase, for the Dark Lord, and for the Empire.."

The holo-display would flicker to life once more, and the fiercely angry eyes of Eddi would appear before the rest. He'd sigh deeply before speaking.

"Only a number of days after I spoke of my teaching under Tutam... The blasted man goes and gets himself killed." Eddi would growl to himself, his gaze fixed intently on the would-be-viewer. "The blasted fool.."

Eddi would appear on the surface at least to be furious, not sad or grief-striken, but enraged. "I screamed, and said I was meditating... His death has no impact on me, its simply the death of one more angry man to add to the dozens on dozens of others.." Eddi would close his eyes, resting his head on his fists."So why am I so bothered? Why am I so angry with him? Is it even possible to be angry with a dead man?"

Without a further word, Eddi would be obscured from view. Mild static would be heard, and then a thud. The holocom would shut off.

The holo-display would flicker to life, Apprentice Hozan becoming once more visible in what appears to be his room within the Kalkoran Estate. He’d nod his head to the would-be-viewer, his chin rising a fraction of an inch before he spoke. ”It happened. After months upon months of work.. It happened. My Master saw fit to see me made the sole Assistant-Blademaster to the Powerbase.” A pause, then, a proud smile growing on Eddi’s face.”I almost began wondering if this day would come, but… Now, it is I who is solely responsible for the branch.”

Eddi’s face would contort into an… almost mournful frown, shaking his head softly before speaking. ”I told Tutam. Or, I sent a message to his holocom. It is… Long since disconnected, but I needed to tell him..” Eddi’s frown would deepen, and he’d shake his head firmly once more.

”None of that matters now. I must pick up the reigns and see the branch recovered from the dust it was abandoned in. This is mine to build, and I will see it built.” Another pause, drawn out for a few moments. ”My Master demands I do not disappoint him in this matter, and I won’t. I refuse. All I need is Kelsa to sign off on the Curriculum, and to begin teaching. This is where I’m meant to be, and the only way is up…”

Eddi would him faintly to himself, his throat rattling with an uncomfortable mechanical whir, before vanishing as he clears his throat. He’d speak again, ”Need to get that fixed. Loose connection in my voice box, maybe? I’ll need to take a look. Tricky to get a look down there on my own, though..” With an amused smile, Eddi would roll his eyes. His gaze shifting to the distance for a moment, before seemingly returning to the viewer, his face returned to its stoic neutral. ”Anyway… Much to be done.” He’d glance to his side, using the Force to see a saber hilt float into the vicinity of the holorecorder. He’d turn it over in his hands. ”Always more spars to be had…”

Without another word, the holo display would flicker from life, the visage of the new Assistant-Blademaster fading away.

Once more, the holo-display would flicker to life. Revealing the upper body of the Assistant-Blademaster, in the typical blue-white tones. Despite this, his eyes would appear a tone deeper than the last time, his very being somewhat.. darker.

"Jedi Battlemaster Emoral Heliolite..." Eddi would frown rather deeply at the name, but continue nonetheless, "The scum. Lured my Master and I into the furthest corner of the galaxy, for what? A pathetic Padawan. It's not like he cared the rest of the time the pathetic creature was in my Master's custody.."

"No, of course he didn't, the scum wanted an excuse to make an attempt on the life of my Master. If I'd been stronger, if we'd known what was to come, maybe.." Shaking his head, Eddi would pinch the bridge of his nose between two fingers. "I will kill each and every Jedi I find until the moment Heliolite dies at my hand, his final breath will be mine to see, and he will know it is I who killed him."

"He dared comment on my Master's teachings, and yet Heliolite is the one who fled. If we were so weak, so insignificant to him, why did he flee?" Looking towards the would-be viewer once more, Eddi would allow a mocking grin to spread across his face. "If we didn't know the Jedi bred none but hypocrites and narcissists, we do now.."

"I have a long way to go, my skill with the blade grows by the day." A dark look would fall on the face of the Apprentice, his entire body seeming to grow just a touch more tense. "Kelsa thinks he is free to make my Office some subsection of his own, that it is within his jurisdiction to tell me who and what I can teach. As though it were not the Will of the Dark Lord that the Blademaster takes responsibility for the teaching of the blade. I am, I remain, the closest thing we have. Kelsa is not, Kelsa will never be a part of this branch, no. He will never be who I report to."

Allowing a brief snarl to escape him, Eddi would shake his head. Not a second later, his expression would return to its stoic neutrality. "I must continue my training, I cannot see my Master let down.."

Without another word, the display would vanish from life, the image of the Assistant-Blademaster flickering away once more.

The holo-display would flicker to life, the Blademaster's Disciple sitting in a plain room, a tired pair of eyes upon the viewer. The heavily scarred face would seem darker somehow, with the corners of his mouth twitching into a smile.

"Darth Leolli Quorran..." Eddi would let out a sigh, shaking his head faintly at the memory.

"One so powerful, it is intoxicating. Five minutes in her presence is like..." He'd halt there, as though he intended to say more, but stopped himself before he did.

"Niman. She has taken over my tuition since Tutam's death, which... I cannot complain about. I earned my tuition, but every time I walk into her compound I fear for my life."
Eddi would shrug softly, that small smile still playing on his lips.

"It has been some time since I saw my Master, but... No news is good news. Lord Kalkoran is not one who remains quiet if his apprentices are disappointing him.." Eddi would chuckle softly, shaking his head. "No. I am on the right path, and I am standing upon my own feet, stepping out of his shadow. This is what he wants for me, so this is what I will do.."
"Day by day, my skill with the blade grows, and my power with it. And never will I cease my work."

Eddi would sigh deeply, his ungloved right hand moving to a position over his heart, gleaming in a slightly metallic manner."For the Kalkoran Powerbase, for the Dark Lord, for the Empire.."

Once more, Eddi's face would appear on the holo-display. The man sitting in a plain room, a lightsaber in his hands, turning over and over and over. His eyes would never reach the viewer, instead focused on the saber in his hands/

"Breaking a Force Bond is like a chainsaw to separate conjoined twins.. That's what She told me.." He'd sigh, a deep frown colouring his features, "But what are my options? To kill Valeus? To anger my Master? To get myself killed?"

Eddi would growl to himself, his jaw visibly tensing up for a moment, before he speaks once more. "Who does he think he is? The man is without honour, without dignity, I was the only true asset he had and he even failed in that."

The apprentice would halt, looking off camera. He'd appear unsure, as though his surroundings were unsafe in some way. After a handful of moments, he'd relax once more. "Either I kill him, or I have Darth Quorran separate us by force.. And lose my function for some weeks thereafter.. Kriff me, what a choice.."

Eddi would get closer to the viewer, before the image went blank. Then, with a thud as the device hit the wall, the display would shut off..

Eddi would appear in the blue-white tones of a holo-display, his heavily scarred face looking marred by corruption and aged by some years beyond his own. Yet, his eyes would glow, piercing and bright, fixed on the viewer.

"Dead. The last Hozan. Or, Vene, whatever she called herself. None of it makes a difference now."

Eddi's face would contort, a deep frown on his face as his eyes are wide, almost pleading. The veins around his mouth would seem to twist, deepening the very image of his expression in the monotone of the holo. The hollows around his eyes would seem deeper, the bags heavier.

"She, who betrayed my Papa, betrayed my family, betrayed my Master, and betrayed the very person she swore to be." His voice would crack, the final three words sounding like a man on the verge of tears. Yet, no tears would fall. "She could have lived, had she not been a fool. But what is family?"

A silence would fall. After only a few moments, Eddi's shoulders would drop a fraction of an inch, accompanied by a deep exhale. They would rise once more, and he'd square his shoulders to the device. "Family is a chain which binds you. I have, finally, broken free of that kriffin' chain, and I'll be damned if I let anyone tell me otherwise."

Something in the room around Eddi would shatter to the ground, but only the sound was heard. Eddi's eyes would drift towards the source of the sound, looking off into the middle-distance, almost glazed over, his eyebrows would furrow, and any who looked close enough would see the shift of his Adam's Apple as he swallowed, hard. "I am better off with her dead. Her blood may be on my hands. Gods, her blood is on my hands.. But what kind of a Sith would I be if I did not let it fuel me? She is no more than another kill in the hundreds that came before her."

Eddi would look towards the ground, his eyes.. almost shimmering in the light. "She was nothing. She was a chain."

Another object would clatter to the ground as Eddi's last words came out as a near whisper.

"But she was my mother... Papa, I'm sorry..."

The holo would fade...

Once more would the holo-display flicker to life, showing Apprentice Arkiti in a dreary office. He would speak in a tightly controlled monotone, his movements appearing stiff and awkward.

"Sith Tarimra. Valeus Vexal Horuset. Ki monhura. My brother. My friend. My second Master. The half of me which I wanted more than anything removed.

When you died, monhura, you burnt out. Like the Tarimra itself, igniting in a blaze of fury. I wasn’t there to see it - maybe if I had been, I could have saved you - but I felt it in my core. The blaze you lit in me, the fire leftover from our time as Master and Apprentice… That burnt out with you.

I thought I hated you. I did hate you. I still do hate you. But less like an enemy than I thought. You were never my enemy, you were always my brother. The closest thing I will ever have to a friend. A mentor. A guide.

If only I wasn’t on Sernpidal. If only I was there. I’m sure the Estate feels colder now that you’re gone.

Goodbye, my friend. Goodbye, my brother."

At that, without another word, the holo would unceremoniously flicker from life once more.

The holo-display would flicker to life and sat before the display would be a tired-looking redhead, corruption marring his features, a sheen of sweat on his brow, reflecting the blue-white tones of the display. The display would flicker, Eddi’s features halting in place as his words cut out, before returning to normal. Wherever the Sith is, it appears his device has been damaged.

“It has been many moons since I saw the—” A crackling sound would replace Eddi’s speech for just a moment.

”I must wonder what has changed in my absence. Since Valeus died. After… Brother. Who has risen to take your place?”

Eddi would roll his shoulders, resting on hand on his scuffed and damaged armour.

“How long has it been? I see her every time I close my eyes. I wonder…”

Eddi’s shoulders would once more slump down, his head rolling from left to right. “Those images. The ones which plague me. Which I cannot shake when I do anything but train. Are they why I ran? Why I left? Do I have a Master? Do I have a home anymore? What’s next? Where do I go from here?”

With a crackle that resounded in the remaining silence like a thunder crack, the image faded.

Addendum from Eddi's former player: This is not a return; the character remains MIA/AWOL. This is simply a statement that Eddi Arkiti is not dead.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
