Operation: The Caverns

I am pleased to report that the mission was a success although it proved to go differently than expected. Myself and the acolyte hiked our way to the cavern's entrance. Apprentice Agran remained outside on guard while we went in to surreptitously explore. The cavern proved eerily silent, which given the initial reports of smuggler presence proved odd. We found a long since dead Rodian with claw marks across their body not too far into the cave.
Upon further exploration we found a camp, likely belonging to the reported smuggling group although it was lifeless. Senseing the presence of the beasts responsible we both took action.
Seizing the initative we assaulted what appears to have been a Nexu martiarch, who had secured the cavern as her habitat and had slain all those who previously resided there. We faced against her and a pair of her cubs. The battle was swift with minimal wounds and with its culmination we managed to swiftly secure the site. Given the demise of the smugglers it is accordingly unlikely any further attempts will be made to utilize these caverns by any local elements thus making the planned post that much more secure.

I look forward to reviewing the intel that emerges as we continue our efforts on Vykos.
