Overview

While other Spheres wage war, administer resources, maintain doctrine or pursue intelligence, the Sphere of Advancement ensures that every Imperial victory is supported by superior tools, superior knowledge and superior preparation through the coordination of laboratories, research initiatives and applied military development, refining existing technologies while also pursuing breakthroughs that may define the next generation of Imperial warfare.

Pentarch of Advancement

The Pentarch of Advancement and upholds nigh complete authority over the Sphere. From determining research priorities to shaping the internal structure of the Sphere and directing major initiatives, the Pentarch ensures that the advancement of the Horuset Powerbase remains consistent and purposeful.

The Pentarch of Advancement’s primary duties focus on ensuring that technological progress, research initiatives and developmental projects remain aligned with the strategic needs of the Powerbase. This includes directing the work of the Sphere’s divisions, approving major research undertakings and ensuring that discoveries are properly translated into practical advantages for the Empire. Their authority over the Sphere is total, and second only to the Dark Lord.

The position is currently held by Lord Atas.

Shataijir of Advancement

Serving under the Pentarch of Advancement, the Shatijir acts as the Pentarch’s second-in-command and is responsible for coordinating the Sphere’s internal operations.

The Shatijir must possess the ability to oversee development projects and ensure that research, espionage and applied military initiatives remain aligned with the Pentarch’s directives. They may act as a delegate of the Pentarch when required, though the Pentarch’s authority remains final should circumstances demand it.

The current Shatijir is Apprentice Agran.

Division of Military Applications

The Head of Military Applications oversees the development and refinement of technologies intended for practical battlefield use.

This role is responsible for overseeing military applications, designing new variations and updating older technologies for maximum efficiency in order to cater towards the needs of the Sphere of War, for which they also act as a direct liaison, maintaining communication with military personnel and gathering constant updates to ensure research remains aligned with operational realities. Through this position, theoretical discoveries within the Sphere of Advancement are translated into practical tools for Imperial forces.

The position of Head of Military Applications is currently held by Apprentice Agran, with the Office formerly operating from Bnar V and currently being relocated.

Division of Medical Enhancement

Technological superiority is not only acquired by high tier weapons alone but also by the preservation of those who wield them. The continued strength of the Empire depends on its ability to maintain, restore, and enhance its personnel beyond the limitations of the expected conventional care.

The Head of Medical Enhancement is tasked with overseeing the development, integration and delivery of advanced medical technologies and procedures across the Horuset Powerbase. This includes battlefield recovery systems, surgical innovation, cybernetic integration and performance-enhancing treatments designed to ensure that both Sith and Imperial personnel return to service faster, better, stronger. 

The position of Head of the Medical Enchancement is currently Vacant.

Division of Strategic Espionage

Technological superiority cannot rely solely on internal discovery. The Empire’s enemies continuously pursue advancements of their own, many of which must be prevented from reaching operational maturity, or outright exploited.

The Head of Strategic Espionage, holding the honorary title of Sith Ncairemyr, is tasked with seizing or destroying research advancements from the Empire’s enemies as a means of strengthening the Empire’s own arsenal while simultaneously halting the progress of hostile powers. Through infiltration, acquisition and sabotage, the Espionage Division ensures that valuable technologies are secured for Imperial use or denied entirely to those who would oppose the Empire. While other Spheres also employ espionage to influence politics, destabilize governments or manipulate the outcomes of conflicts, the Espionage efforts of the Sphere of Advancement focus specifically on technological and scientific acquisition or denial.

The position of Head of Strategic Espionage is currently Apprentice Leiyr, operating as an External Liason.

Division of Auxiliary Systems

Technological improvements range far beyond battlefield and medical uses, but also target the essential infrastructure which tackles the Empire’s ability to function, expand and endure.

The Head of Auxiliary Systems oversees the research, development and distribution of technologies that sustain and optimize the Horuset Powerbase’s broader operational framework. This includes industrial systems, resource processing, logistics optimization, infrastructure development and adaptive technologies designed to improve efficiency across Imperial domains. 

The position of Head of Auxiliary Systems is currently Vacant.

Overseer of Advancement

Acting both as a member of the Overseer cadre and as a representative of the Sphere, the Overseer of Advancement ensures that the interests of the Sphere are represented within the Overseer program.

The position exists to represent the interests of Advancement while upholding the standards and demands set by the Lord Pentarch. Through lessons, assignments and oversight of acolyte tasks, the Overseer introduces new Sith to the importance of technological progress, research and innovation within the Empire.

Research & Development

The Sphere of Advancement is responsible for guiding and sustaining structured research across the Horuset Powerbase. Its purpose is to ensure that innovation is not fragmented or inefficient, but instead directed toward meaningful application.

Research initiatives fall under its oversight to guarantee that new discoveries are evaluated, refined and integrated appropriately. This includes monitoring ongoing projects, coordinating between divisions when collaboration is required and ensuring that developments meet operational standards before implementation. Through organized development and continuous evaluation, Advancement ensures that technological progress remains steady, controlled, and beneficial to the broader Powerbase- without overlapping nor stagnation.

Healthcare

The Sphere of Advancement maintains responsibility for ensuring appropriate medical and physiological support for Sith, apprentices and all associated Powerbase personnel. This duty includes oversight of medical research, treatment standards, recovery protocols and the improvement of restorative techniques where possible. Advancement ensures that healthcare services are sufficiently present to respond to injuries, experimental side effects, field-related trauma or other physical conditions that may arise through operational activity.

By maintaining effective medical capability, the Sphere safeguards the strength and continuity of the Powerbase, ensuring that valuable assets remain operational and that recovery processes are efficient and reliable.

Horuset Bestiary

The Horuset Bestiary serves as the official registered containment and documentation system for all beasts held on Horuset Grounds. It functions as both a resource archive and a regulated biological management structure for House Horuset. The Sphere of Advancement maintains oversight of biological classification and expansion efforts, ensuring the Bestiary remains organized, secure, and aligned with research objectives.

The Horuset Bestiary



The Horuset Bestiary is a structured containment and registry facility operating under the oversight of the Sphere of Advancement which centralizes the intake, documentation, housing and regulated management of all beasts within House Horuset’s authority.

The facility follows layered security and classification principles, ensuring that every creature is properly assessed, recorded and contained according to its designated status and risk level. It supports controlled housing, quarantine protocols and long-term containment within a unified operational framework. Additional functions, including breeding oversight and developmental monitoring, ensure sustainability while maintaining strict control.

Situated within the Horusate Estate grounds, the Bestiary is positioned at a distance from the main estate hub, requiring shuttle transport. This separation enhances security while preserving direct administrative integration under Sphere supervision.

Registration within the Bestiary is mandatory for all Sith who acquire or retain a beast within the powerbase. While sensitive holdings may be listed privately where appropriate, full transparency is required at the highest level, ensuring the Dark Lord maintains awareness of all biological assets under Horuset authority. This system prevents unauthorized expansion, reinforces accountability and maintains strategic oversight.

The Horuset Proving Grounds



Currently the Facility is build but only at its most basic. To see its assembly lines run, its labs filled and expansions made more work will have to be done. A foundation to be build on.

The Sernpidal Research Facility, owned by Apprentice Agran, and baptised as the Horuset Proving Grounds, is a compact, highly integrated installation designed to combine research, development and controlled production within a single secure complex. Built with efficiency and modular expansion in mind, the structure centralizes scientific experimentation, prototype engineering and limited manufacturing capabilities in a streamlined layout.

At the heart of the facility lies a dedicated research core, a large controlled environment where advanced experimentation and project development take place. Flanking this central hub are modular research wings and laboratories that can be adapted to specialized scientific or technical fields depending on operational needs.

Connected to the research sectors are assembly and manufacturing lines, allowing designs developed within the laboratories to be rapidly built into physical prototypes. Transfer corridors and internal logistics routes move materials and components between refinement systems, fabrication sectors and assembly units with minimal delay.

Supporting the complex are refinery modules, power storage batteries and internal transport channels, ensuring thus a stable supply of refined materials and energy throughout the whole facility. The structure also incorporates deployment and docking stations, allow for a controlled arrival and departure of specialized craft, cargo platforms or experimental equipment.

Designed with practicality over appearance, the Facility functions as a self-contained environment where research, engineering and application operate in close coordination, allowing for theoretical projects to be tested, assembled and prepared for field use within the same installation before reaching a broader audience. Currently, the Horuset Proving Grounds stand as the heart of the Sphere of Advancement, the location from which all its Divisions are located and operate from.

Spoiler: Personnel

The Sernpidal Research Facility is presently sustained only by a skeleton personnel crew of 35 strong, sufficient to maintain core systems, environmental stability and limited oversight of research infrastructure. Laboratory and production sectors remain largely inactive. Security is restricted to a single squad element of 10 guards, adequate only for basic internal control and perimeter presence.

Serenno Bacta Facility



Currently, the Serenno Bacta Farm operates at minimal capacity, maintaining only essential cultivation pools and microbial cultures. Expansion of growth areas and processing will be required to reach full production.

The Serenno Bacta Farm, owned by Apprentice Agran, is a modest cultivation site dedicated to producing the organic compounds required for bacta, the viscous, gelatin-like substance renowned for its near-miraculous healing properties. Within controlled fields and growth basins, specialized crops and microbial cultures are carefully maintained to generate the biological agents that form the foundation of bacta’s regenerative function.

Central to production are cultivated bacterial strains and plant-derived materials, mirroring the natural components of bacta, most notably alazhi and kavam microorganisms suspended within a nutrient medium. These cultures produce a thick, slimey secretion which is then promptly harvested and transferred to nearby processing units where it is finally stabilized into a usable medical compound. Once properly refined, the substance is then stored in sealed tanks, ready for transport and/or medical deployment. 

The farm operates through steady growth cycles, with technicians overseeing environmental balance, nutrient flow, and microbial health to ensure consistent yield. Designed for reliability over output, the Serenno Bacta Farm functions as a quiet self-contained production node where the process of growth, cultivation and refinement converge to sustain a dependable supply of one of the galaxy’s most valuable medical resources for the Horuset Powerbase's medical needs.

Spoiler: Personnel

The Serenno Bacta Farm currently operates under constrained conditions, with 20 staff-members maintaining cultivation cycles, system integrity and minimal processing capability. Output remains thus limited. Security presence consists of a light detachment of 8 guards, tasked with perimeter monitoring and internal oversight.

Debris Salvage Unit (D.S.U.)



The D.S.U. is a scrapper squad consist of four specialized units of twenty personnel each, supported by light cargo freighters equipped with advanced deconstruction and retrieval systems. Their purpose is the systematic recovery and breakdown of stray debris, derelict materials and navigational hazards within controlled space lanes. Operating with precision and efficiency, this unit contributes to the ever-useful reclamation and salvage of resources from space debris.
