Qotsisajak. The Code of the Sith. The Way of the Sith Doctrine. It is what binds the Order together in common belief, and what separates us from the often heretical Dark Jedi that allow themselves to be used by the Dark Side of the Force instead of using it as it should be: a tool.

Originally, the code of my ancestors, the ancient Sith, was simply a way of life. The Pure do not need to be told how to live. Thus, the code was written down by Sorzus Syn (one of the Jen'jidai from the Hundred Year Darkness) on the Sith holy world of Ziost in 3,247 BTC, it mirrors the Jedi Code and highlights its inadequacies, flaws, and weaknesses. Indeed, Qotsisajak is not intended to serve as only a mirror. But a reminder, for whoever repeats in darkness the words of the Sith Doctrine is reminded of the flaws of the Jedi and their heretical code.

As such, I will be covering both the Jedi and Sith Codes, highlighting the weaknesses of the first and the way the second reflects that. For whoever becomes Sith must know the flaws of our enemy: how best to demoralize and bring down those that oppose us than to show them the weaknesses, flaws, and failures of their doctrine?

There is no Emotion, there is Peace
There is no Ignorance, there is Knowledge
There is no Passion, there is Serenity
There is no Chaos, there is Harmony
There is no Death, there is the Force

“There is no Emotion, there is Peace” This singular line encapsulates all that is wrong with these heretical tenets of the Jedi Order. Emotion is the driving force behind all life; it is what keeps our hearts beating when all collapses; it is what forces us to exceed ourselves after a failure. Emotion is the driving force of all life: through emotion, we feel love, compassion, and happiness, surely the driving force of all living beings that dwell not in darkness. And even those that dwell in the shadow that is the Dark Side of the Force, like the Sith -- be it the Pureblooded race or the order as a whole -- feel positive emotions, though they may not show it much.

In claiming that peace is the prime position, the Jedi assume a state of apathy, of ceaseless passivity that banishes all emotion. They do this as to guard the members of their order from us, the Sith, and the power we represent. For we the Sith realize that only through action does one grow; only through conflict does one excel. Thus, through rejecting the empowering nature of emotion, the Jedi limit themselves in their potential. For Peace is a Lie: each and every action is a conflict in and of itself, each action requires a reaction. From the waiting for an opportune moment; to the moment before the attack; to the awaiting of prey, all actions require a decision, and all are filled with conflict.

“There is no Ignorance, there is Knowledge”. This second tenet of the Jedi Code is not only filled with lies and half-truths, for it is filled with hypocrisy, too. For while the Jedi claim they serve in the interests of knowledge, they hide knowledge from those worthy: the members of their Order, and keep it away from the curious, and the brave.
Through doing such, the Jedi show their hypocrisy: their fear of knowledge, and the darkness that it may bring. Indeed, the prime emotion driving the Jedi is Fear. For it is through Fear that the Jedi fail to see their own mistakes; it is Fear that allows their members to fall to the Dark Side and to the truth that is the Sith Order. For what drives one to heresy like this but Fear? Fear of the unknown, fear of the uncontrollable, and fear of the unconquerable.

“There is no Passion, there is Serenity”. Perhaps the most disgusting tenet of the entire Code, this line represents their banishment of Passion, of the driving force of the universe, and the banishment of all that comes with it: the ability to love, to be compassionate, to feel anger, and hate. Through banishing Passion, the Jedi admit their own weakness: they fear Passion and the power it can bring. For Passion drives us; it forces us to exceed ourselves and others, for only the passionate and true will survive and thrive. This singular principle, the Jedi reject, for they fear what Passion would do to them: they fear the fact that using Passion as fuel would unlock their potential.

“There is no Chaos, there is Harmony”. The Jedi have deceived themselves into thinking that Chaos is a pit. They are wrong. Chaos is a ladder. For one can use Chaos as a way to advance: there are many Sith who climbed up the ladder of authority in the aftermath of the Sacking of Coruscant: the Empire itself made use of the chaos to enforce a favourable armistice with the Republic, in accordance with the indomitable will of the former Emperor.

Indeed, Chaos can be a useful tool. For Chaos, in its being as a state of ‘utter confusion and disorder’, can be used; it has a use in being a ladder towards one's own gain. For Chaos is not to be understood, it is not able to be planned for, though it can be taken advantage of: the opportune moment often shows itself only in a moment of Chaos. Even this the Jedi deny themselves. Through denying Chaos, they deny the fundamental nature of life itself; life is an endless stream of conflict; it is an endless stream of chaos. Chaos nurtures. Chaos teaches. Chaos listens.

To quote a long-dead Sith Inquisitor:
“If you stare into chaos, chaos stares back at you.”

"There is no Death, there is the Force". No tenet in the Jedi Code is as heretical as this. Yes, some powerful Sith Lords have persisted to a sense of undeath after their physical bodies reached their appointed time of death; such esteemed figures as Marka Ragnos are rumoured to have persisted past their bodily termination- Ragnos himself is said to have appeared at his own funeral amid a battling Ludo Kreshh and Naga Sadow. And indeed, figures such as the former Sith Emperor, Sith Lord Karness Muur, and Darth Andeddu managed to evade death in their own way-- though it is unknown to me through which means they accomplished such a thing.

Yet these are exceptions. Non-Force-sensitives do not have the ability to evade death- when one such as the Dark Lord of Horuset commands them to die, they die a pathetic, petty, and final death. These figures are thus rightly the servants of the more powerful, able to be disposed of with a mere flick of the wrist. Thus, even this tenet of the Jedi Code is a lie, a non-truth, a falsehood, a fiction the Jedi deceive themselves into believing they can be safe, even from death itself.
One must realize, however, that once the Jedi did not have such fear of the Sith. In the time before the Empire, before the Sith Order, there was another Code, another set of tenets, yet alike to those heretical lines that now grace the Jedi with their faults.

Emotion, yet Peace
Ignorance, yet Knowledge
Passion, yet Serenity
Chaos, yet Harmony
Death, yet the Force

These tenets are ancient and obsolete, being created long before they were modified to be the current incarnation of the Jedi Code before 343 BTC by the Jedi Odan-Urr. Indeed, Urr modified them. He changed the very principles the Jedi operated on and lived by. This shows two things:
  1. That the Sith Code, being written down by Sorzus Syn in 3,247 BTC, actually precedes the (current) Jedi Code by 2,904 years, if not more.
  2. That the Jedi are not above change: above all that they reject.

Peace is a Lie, there is only Passion,
Through Passion, I gain Strength,
Through Strength, I gain Power,
Through Power, I gain Victory,
Through Victory, my Chains are Broken,
The Force shall Free me

“Peace is a Lie,” Truer words have never been spoken. Peace is but a fabrication of the mind, of the masses, and of the weak. Peace is but the lie that is forced upon those that are too foolish and weak to resist; peace is but a fabrication to satisfy those that seek to be complacent: those that are too weak and passive to realise the true path: that of conflict, of growth, and of power. They deceive themselves into thinking that the Jedi are right, that ‘peace’ exists, and that it is a desirable state of mind.

They are wrong. Peace is a Lie. It is a Lie that emotion is not what drives all living creatures. It is a Lie that conflict is not inherent in every action. The Tuk’ata of Korriban care not for their prey: they are weaker and thus they are to be hunted. For those who are too weak to seek power and glory for themselves and their line are unworthy; those that are unable to seize it unworthy of the supposed ‘right’ to life.

“There is only Passion” Passion is the lifeblood of all that exists, for it is that which fuels all. It is emotion. Emotion fuels conflict, it drives all life into being. For it is a conflict with the world to breathe, for a heart to beat: it is a conflict with oneself to reach beyond, to grow. Through tapping into emotion, one guides it into the flames of one's being and uses it as fuel, thereby transforming simple, base emotions into true Passion, that which drives Empires and individuals both.

“Through Passion,” Through the utilization of passion as fuel and drive, one unlocks that which is hidden within, an inner force that drives one to exceed, that forces one to live or to die, to simply survive, or to thrive. This is what is known as Strength. The driving force of Passion bent to one's will, bent to accomplish one's desires. For whatever the Dark Side and the Gods have in mind, fates can be changed, and strength plays an integral role in such actions.

For the future is fluid, it is ever-changing. A singular action, however small, can change the fates of millions.

“I gain Strength” Through the focusing lense of passion and the fuel and drive of emotion, the future and fate both can be changed. It is this that makes this tenet so important: the first step on the way to power, to freedom, is the changing of fate and the nearby future. Where the Jedi force one to suffer in passivity, the Sith encourage action and the changing of one's fate for the better.

Changing one's fate is a sign of strength and power: simply accepting it is weakness and peace. And peace is a lie.

"Through Strength," What is ‘strength’? Strength is that through which we force our will upon the galaxy, it is our ability, our knowledge, and our presence. It is through which we make known our passions, and through which we force them upon reality. Strength is through which we change our fates; it is through which we force upon the galaxy our will.

“I gain Power” Through making known our will, and through forcing it upon the galaxy, we show our superiority and strength. Through such, we force others to acknowledge our superiority and bend to our will. Through this, we climb ever higher, ascending the rungs of society and hierarchy, until one remains at the top. From there, power can be exercised or hoarded; spent or gained. It is the currency of the mighty, it is the whip hanging above the masses in silent threat.

“Through Power,” Through the usage of power, one is able to dispatch whatever obstacles stand in one’s way, and rule the masses through one’s own design. Independence. Such is gained through power; such is that which the Jedi wish to prevent. For the Jedi wish to see one reliant on others, it is why they are ruled by a Jedi Council, and why they wish to keep ‘padawans’ weak and subservient.

“I gain Victory” Through power is gained independence, through power one is no longer forced to rely on others. This is victory. This is what the Sith live towards; it is why we operate as we do, and why action is preferred over passivity. Victory is not the last step, however. But it is key to all others. Total dominance must be achieved before a Sith can truly be successful; one must rule before one can reign.

“Through Victory,” Once independence is achieved, one can work towards whatever one wishes, usually this is even greater power, knowledge, immortality, or suchlike. What ones goal is differs, but the way to achieve it is always the same: total domination; total power; total victory. Through such, one can achieve whatever one wishes, all are subject to one’s will, and all is one’s plaything.

“My Chains are Broken” Through total victory, total dominance, or suchlike, one is free. Independent. Through such, freedom is guaranteed, though even so, it is conditional. For there are always others close behind, nipping at one’s heels. To keep such at bay, one is forced to continually expand one’s own power, and through such, one’s domination reaches ever greater heights. Thus, one is placed into a feedback loop of constantly expanding power and domination, and one is free.

“The Force shall Free Me” Such is the end goal of all. To be free of everything, to escape the feedback loop that the previous tenets place one in. To be free. Free of death. Free of life. Free of all worldly restrictions. Free to be whatever one chooses. To be a farmer, tending his land. An artist, painting. A simple man. Such is the power the Dark Side brings. A release from all responsibilities, a release from everything.

Such is the Code of the Sith. Such is Qotsisajak. And such is its wisdom.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
