Operation Report: The Seeds of Thought
Mission Participants:
Apprentice Safiyya Tanamart
Neophyte Veilak
Neophyte Xulia Horuset
Acolyte Krast Ukar
Overview:
Once touched down planetside, Apprentice Tanamart stayed behind to watch over the shuttle, as we made our way towards the target location - a warehouse - at the end of a quaint village. Passing through it provided not threats or difficulty whatsoever, seeing as almost everyone lives there below poverty line. It was a mind-numbing trek, until Neophyte Xulia went AWOL. No responses via telepathic link or even comms, as she disappeared. There was a minute of a hold up in attempt to look for her, seeing as she acted...Odd, and a Pureblood causing a scene on a neutral world wouldn't be the best case scenario, but after about five minutes or so, the search for her was dropped.
At this point things started going south, as myself and the Acolyte approached the gates of the warehouse, we've encountered a group of mercenaries. They looked way too well-equipped for a backwater world like this, and as it turned out, they were on a payroll of Banking Clans, claiming that whatever assets were inside of the target were seized as a way to settle a debt. We promptly retreated and tried to arrange an ambush - as the warehouse itself was just an area walled off by plain durasteel walls - where the idea was to have them caught inside of it and kill before anyone notices.
It's worth mentioning that the occupants turned out to be some kids who were indebted to the Banking Clans, for one reason or another, and whatever they had inside was worth the hassle of about half a dozen mercenaries, two of which were armed with light disruptors, who'd then bust down on the warehouse gate. While that was happening, Neophyte Xulia made a return, promptly killing all of the children inside, causing them to panic - enough that one even had a blaster shot which gave up her position.
Then, to say the least, it was a mess. We've engaged the mercenary forces and we've been met with overwhelming fire power. Even as the disruptors were taken out, one of the mercenaries was armed with a scatterblaster and an underslung flamethrower, who scored a hit on both Xulia and Krast. While it was happening, I was preoccupied with one of the thugs who upon being deprived of his disruptor pulled out a grenade and primed it at point blank. Seeing no other option I used the Force to get out of the blast radius, to which the reinforcments in a form of another half a dozen mercenaries saw, applying tactics against Force Sensitives. Before we even knew it, there was a missile barreling towards us, which was intercepted by an empty crate I tossed at them.
We've been hurt, cornered and bound to die should we not move. And if the evening wasn't ruined enough, a gunship of all things, appeared. Any second later and we've all been turned to bloody pulp. That's when I called quits and ordered retreat, seeing as Xulia was knocked out cold, Krast could barely walk, while I had sustained mostly superficial wounds. In that moment, the Acolyte took the Neophyte on a speeder ride back to the shuttle, while I decided to stay behind and at least take out as many mercenaries as possible. I managed to get on top of the gunship and disrupt it's flight course, where as a result it crashed down on the warehouse, leaving no survivors.
That's when mission was getting to a close. With too many injuries, we've left. The operation can be marked as a failure.
