Description:
Maximillian Graush is a rare scion of his line; one of the very few members of the nigh ancient Graush dynasty of Sith nobility born without the means to use the Force.
Nevertheless he is an extremely influential man in his own right, leveraging his family's connections with the Kaasian nobility Graush has been most successful in spinning a web of allies, leverage, blackmail and favors to navigate the cutthroat landscape of Imperial politics with.
He stands among the ranks of the few Imperials in the Empire's millennia long history to ever attain the rank of Sector Moff without ever serving in a position of direct military command.
No, Graush instead has a long career of Eugenics and Scientific Xenophobia to thank for his political standing. Having chosen to join the ranks of the Imperial Science Bureau rather than any of the combat arms of the military at an early age, Graush had worked his way up the ranks of the Alien Control organization.
Spending his years fulfilling the genocidal task of Nonhuman-based population control across the Empire's conquered worlds.
By the time of Zakuul’s invasion and Empress Acina’s reign, Graush had already attained the title of Science Director for the Alien Control division across the Empire’s Northern Territories. Yet he grew disillusioned during this era. Acina’s efforts to promote political unity through integration and her increasing tolerance of nonhumans disgusted him. Compounding his dissatisfaction was the stagnation of the Empire’s expansion; with no new worlds to purge, there was little glory left in his post. Eventually, he resigned in protest, retreating to Dromund Kaas to plot his next move.
It was there, amidst the decadent rot of Sith high society, that Graush once again proved his value—not on a battlefield, but in smoke-filled drawing rooms, hushed corridors, and lavish receptions. Through relentless networking, blackmail, and favor-trading, he secured the title of Moff of the Atrivis Sector, following the mysterious and untimely death of his predecessor.
From his fortress-palace on Horuz, Moff Graush has ruled the Atrivis Sector with decadence and ideological cruelty. His home, often whispered about in tones of horror, is described by diplomats and officers alike as a “palace of horrors.”
A grotesque parody of a museum, its corridors are lined with taxidermied corpses and scientific displays: Duros infants suspended in preservative jars, Togruta warriors flayed and dissected, Wookiee fathers posed mid-shield in front of their cubs, Mon Calamari split from throat to gut, and countless other trophies—all displayed under flickering lights like grotesque art pieces.
A monument to xenophobic obsession and twisted science.
Under his command, the Atrivis Sector has undergone a silent but total transformation.
On planets like Mantooine, Horuz, and Gibbela, alien presence is now limited to slaves, janitors, and corpses. Nonhumans are no longer seen walking freely in the streets. Those who once did have vanished into processing camps or “resettlement” programs whose locations are known only to a few.
With the conflict in Nam’ta escalating into full civil war, Graush played a masterful hand. Under the watchful gaze of Darth Zudikas he worked closely together with the government of President Ralter to ensure an Imperial victory. Under his command the Nam'ta gambit was executed perfectly, forcing the Republic to Withdraw from Nam'ta to mend their shattered worlds.
This caused President ralter, whether by conviction or coercion, to came to his palace to formally request Nam’ta’s ascension into the Empire. This request, of course, was granted.
Now, as Imperial Governor Ralter enacts sweeping reforms and suppresses the rebellion with blood and fire, Graush’s influence looms large over every action taken.
Imperial military support, administrative coordination, and propaganda networks across the Atrivis Sector now flow from his palace to hers.
Already the moff has seen to the arrival of the Conquest Consolidation Corps in the Nam'tas system, and rumors abound of a more brutal phase of the war beginning.
Ralter;s recent decrees—endorsing mass executions of rebel sympathizers, the removal of aliens from Nam’ta’s military, and the denial of prisoner status to insurgents; all ordered by Moff Graush, have left many fearing the inevitable.
Some claim he intends to oversee a genocide of Nam’ta’s alien population if left unchecked.
Others argue that it has already begun.
Either way, there is little doubt: Moff Maximilian Graush does not simply rule Atrivis.
He reshapes it—in his image.
