Priority Aurek: Extortion - Lord Iezkon

The hologram flickers to live, revealing the uniformed figure of a short woman with a devious, cunning look in her pale grey eyes. She clears her throat and introduces herself as ‘Director Faux’ of the H.I.D. Not wasting anymore time on niceties or introductions, the agent unlocks her datapad and begins her briefing:

"Lord Iezkon, my Lord. As the Envoy of Inquisition, this mission is a perfect fit for you. As you know from personal experience, both Sernpidals shipyards and the planet proper have a thick layer of bureaucrats and dignitaries that make the day-to-day decisions. If they are favourable to us, either through bribes, loyalty or blackmail, it is far easier to expand the Horuset Sernpidal facilities. Unfortunately, one of these individuals is giving the powerbase a hard time. Janus Elgrim, Director of Kalmar Synergetics, has presumably been bought by rival elements on the planet to block any and all forms of Horuset expansion. His company is the main distributor of chips necessary to create advanced machinery, such as the ones used in Horuset-owned shipyards. To solve this conundrum, Darth Horuset has seen it fit that you, my Lord, ‘persuade’ Director Elgrim to change his mind about the powerbase. The man is a socialite, so threatening his social life will make the most impact. The H.I.D. will ensure you gain an invitation to a gathering where the Director is present. Your mission is to create video evidence of a scandal of sorts that can be used to blackmail him. What this would be, is up to you. It will likely require some creativity and inventiveness, but I have no doubt you can find a way, my Lord. Director Faux, signing off.’’

*With that the hologram would flicker and then fade from view. Leaving the viewer able to access the rest of the information provided.*

Location: Sernpidal City - Society club, a luxurious gathering place for the rich and powerful of the planet.

((OOCly: A cantina on any planet or a luxuriously decorated stronghold will do. ))

Focal point extra information: A fake identity will not be necessary. You have been to Sernpidal before and your presence will be a logical one. However my Lord, keep in mind that the Director might be wary around you due to your allegiance to the powerbase. Upon request, you can be supplied with hidden cameras to record the required video evidence.

Objectives: In this task there is a single primary objective and two secondary objectives.

Primary Objective I: Create and record a scandal that can be used to blackmail Director Elgrim

Secondary Objective I: Do not cause a scene in public

Secondary Objective II: Leave a good impression on the guests as Horuset Envoy

Time Frame: The team will have two months until the Director leaves Sernpidal for an extended holiday and the window of opportunity has closed.
((The 18th of September will be the deadline!))

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
