We congregated at the shuttle pads of the Horuset Estate, the assembled party consisting of:
[font=Courier New]We arrived at the ruins, which emitted… Nothing. No signature, no Presence, as if the ruins did not exist within the Force at all. Within the ruins, which appeared to be running on backup power, were many corpses of Sith Troopers and powered-down ancient sentinel-droids employed by Revan’s false Empire.
The droids, it should be noted, appeared fully functional, and should lack any reason for that they were disabled. The Sith Troopers, on the other hand, were decayed, but not to such a degree that the cause of death could not be found: blaster-fire and vibroswords.
The grand room where we eventually ended up was… Quite large, and dark. At one end was a depowered console with a single, pulsing green button; at the other were two staircases, leading up. We ventured up there to restore the power - but we came across an ancient, powerless datapad. Activating it, the following audio came from it, alongside a video of the death of a Sith Trooper. The audio was garbled and filled with static; this is the transcript:
“Lost contact...Lost contact... [Static] Revan. No ships... [static] Evacuation. Running low on supplies. The Extraction... [Static] Shut down the power. Killed... [Static] What's the point?”
Proceeding through a hallway, we encountered a large door with a ruined control panel on the side. It could not be activated, so we made our way through the door by force, ending in yet another room. It should be noted that (except in front of the room) throughout the entire ruin the sentinel droids were in pristine condition. In front of the door to this room, they were heavily damaged.
The room held at the end a holoterminal, and seven Sith Troopers clad in red armour. One lay dead across the terminal proper; all were wielding heavy repeating blasters and ornate vibroblades, which were unfortunately destroyed later on.
The holoterminal displayed the image of a commander of the Sith Troopers - the same that had laid dead across it. The transcript was the following:
“After we lost contact with Revan, and supplies began to run low. The Sith commanders took the last of the starships, abandoning us here. The garrison went on for a short while but when it became clear that no one was returning for us. The men broke rank and demanded that the communications array be used to send a distress signal. We could of course not allow the facility to fall into enemy hands and an insurrection began. They somehow managed to gain control of the droids and our only option was to shut down the power and seal the door. That way no one will send any transmissions. We're out of rations, but each of my men will die before surrendering this facility."
Activating the power, the generators came online, restoring power to the facility. We moved back to the original console, from which we extracted a file named ‘Extraction’, detailing that the Sith Commandos, which were strictly non-Force-users, were trained to use equipment like smoke bombs and flashbangs to disorient the Jedi; they were also trained in advanced martial arts to take them down. The standard tactic was to separate Jedi from their padawans, loved ones, or units, using them as bait to lure Jedi into compromising positions.
The next file on the terminal was called ‘Conversion’, though this required a password, which we did not have. Upon an attempt to overpower it through Electronic Manipulation, a massive droid (similar to modern models of battle droids, although I am unable to determine the exact type) entered and attacked. We engaged the construct in battle, eventually vanquishing it.
We have left the automaton (albeit lacking its turret-head, this was destroyed during the combat) for the Kalkoran slicer- and engineering-teams; the same goes for the console nearby, which still holds the ‘Conversion’-file behind a password. The ruin itself is cleared out and should serve well as a staging ground: the large room in the centre of the facility especially would serve this purpose.
As per a suggestion made by Apprentice Sutta’Qo on the flight back to the Estate, I have decided to name the system and the planet ‘Kian Yunoks’, meaning ‘too little’ in Common Sith.
I hope this has proved insightful, my Lord Kalkoran.
