[IC] Tashha's Voice Diary

#10
Entry 9 - Life after war.

*The recording begins and just before Tashha would begin to speak, the sound of footsteps interrupts her. The recording device is covered, and the conversation is muffled, but from the sound of it she would be speaking to another, sounding like a male. Then, she resumes and seems to wait until she’s left by herself*

It’s interesting what can happen over the span of a couple of years. From doing jobs on Nar Shaddaa and skimming off wherever possible just to get by to now just moving into something other than the acolyte quarters… That’s quite a distance. Many scars, wounds, broken bones, trials, tasks and a war. I’m glad I decided to continue this recording, although I feel that some details should be mentioned for posterity. So, after listening to my previous entries, I shall briefly cover certain significant events, starting from the end of the war against the heretics towards my now apprenticeship.

I did mention of my odd sleeping pattern before. A handful of half an hour naps daily, coupled with meditation. However, in time, this new style of resting surfaced something within my mind. I found it extremely difficult to focus on my meditation. One day I snapped and felt a fit of rage overwhelming me. Usually whenever I meditate, I recall and anchor myself within key moments of my life. I draw upon the pain and emotions they leave, and make sure they lay fresh in my memory whilst I continue to train during my meditation. I visualise drills, spars, dulons and velocities. Everything is a neatly tied and flowing process, and it proved to be successful. However, I reached a point where it backfired. Everything in my mind was clouded by a red torrent of volatile energy and I couldn’t visualise anything.

I seeked the aid of the Lorekeeper initially, after my research within the archives produced no results. What she told me made me think. She explained that there is a sort of ‘blockage’ within the confines of my mind. It can be either a memory or something I must accept and move on from before I can make usage of it. And I realized that in time, it was that… But then the headaches began to appear and I was barely able to move around. I seeked Temekel and upon some investigations, she came to the conclusion that my cerebral implant was the cause of my headaches. I was terrified, but with her aid as well as Ovidian, an arkanian I met not long before that, we concluded that my implants needed maintenance.

*Tashha chuckled and sounded as she stood up, walking around the room she was in*

Something so simple, something I overlooked. Up until then I gave it no importance. Needless to say, I was aided by Ovidian and upon him inspecting and performing the needed adjustments, I woke up at a later time. Initially my vision was blurry but within seconds it grew cleared, sharper, more focused. My mind was clear, light as a feather, and the headaches were completely gone. He had explained to me that there are bi-annual checkups and that the implants I received were something of great quality but, given that they were installed by who knows what medic from Nar Shaddaa, I suffered this discomfort. He explained to me the basics of what they do, and gave me a serial number. I ran it through several databases and I know exactly what my implants are capable of now. If only I knew before… But, there are still parts I need. Yet, they are -very- expensive. Some reach many thousands of credits and frankly, I will only make use of the best, and those are of arkanian design.

Back then, still an acolyte, I had virtually pocket change only. But that would soon come to change. WIth the war over, the acolyte trial system changed. We were introduced to the new Overseers, and every single one of them was a pain in the rear for us all. Five of them, each with their own preferences… It felt like we were in an imperial boot camp. However, the trial system got simplified. No more points and silly rank names. Now, all we had to do apparently was to complete three trials. And depending on our performance, we would be selected by lords who deemed our efforts and traits displayed within the trials as worthy.

Thus, I had three previous trials but I was still forced to do two more. The acolyte numbers increased and thus, culling had to be made. The first of the new trials I had to do was on Korriban. We were given a lesson previously upon certain lords, each specialised within certain Force techniques, as well as the markings of their clans. And our task was to retrieve tablets from one of the tombs where their teachings were apparently hidden. During this time, I had allied myself with the latest in the Vipion line of acolytes, Soyut Vipion.

*Tashha would be heard chuckling a little, and her tone of voice was now filled with excitement*

That was perhaps one of the smartest decisions I made. I was fully aware that with the great numbers of acolytes I would not succeed in finding the desired tablets. Thus, my goal was another - I was to aid him, showcase my capabilities and be an obstacle for the other acolytes. In return, I would have his help within future tasks as well as the following trial, and I found a sparring partner. I was thinking that if my plan were to work, in the future he would turn out to be a potential ally. Yet again, I was proved correct. My plan had worked, almost as if following a script. He got what he needed, and I managed to become an obstacle for the others, buying him the time and creating opportunities. I was satisfied and needless to say, in the following trial, he aided me.

It was on Tatooine, and we had to track down a gang called the Vaporators. Such an odd and silly name. Regardless, I took it upon myself and Temekel to be the scouts and we successfully managed to find their base. Of course, the other acolytes had different plans, and some even got captured. But, after we got close, we were unfortunately uncovered by the enemy. They were former republic commando troops, deserters, but they had information we needed. Myself with Soyut and Temekel, as well as a couple of others managed to take down some of the defensive fixtures, turrets and some of the troops. From their corpse I recovered something which to this day has proved to be a very useful tool. A Special Operations grade Republic Personal Shield Generator. And then we succeeded.

As planned out, my success rate was faded in comparison to the Vipions, but the observations I was noted for were to my liking. I was not completely satisfied, I wanted more, but for that time, I had to make do with what I had, and plan out for my future. And I did.

*The recording would end after that.*

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
