Mission Report: Reinforcement On The Orsus Front

#1
The Camp Defense

Before the mission started, I confirmed with Sergeant Quinton that I wished to lead it, in order that I might prove myself on the road to Sergeant, and serving the Powerbase in a stronger capacity. She gave an affirmation, with the stipulation that if she gave orders, I was to follow. Corporal Geskar organized the teams as follows.

Avos (Mobile Team): Sergeant Quinton, Specialist Nachemi
Besh (Sniper Team): Specialist Wellsow, Specialist Thaarvas
Cresh (Main Team): Corporal Geskar, Specialist Tendav, Private Ursh
Dorn (Heavy Team): Corporal Thymius, Specialist Naveil, Private Ker

With an agreement, we went to the camp: finding six injured Imperials, and no standing troops. Avos treated them while I oversaw things - Besh was directed to find high ground and keep scouting out, the rest of Dorn was put to repairing barricades, and Cresh performed scouting, as well as finding direction of attack, and mining an area of the field. The injured were evacuated, and then the forces came.

From this point forward, I can only report on Besh and Dorn. Avos and Cresh were defending a western front, while Besh and Dorn defended the southwest. Each side saw a Walker, roughly twenty troopers, and four grenadiers. Besh was ordered to take shots as soon as they had range - with a report of a Walker, I sent Private Ker with an Ion Grenade to Corporal Geskar, and to get back as soon as possible. I created cover with flame, allowing Specialist Naveil to move across to the minefield, to lure people in and set up crossfire.

The attack was... brutal, at best. We were fired upon, blown up, tossed about. Private Ker was knocked around, Specialist Naveil only took a couple grazes at best, and if not for my chestplate, I would have been done, but I disabled the Walker long enough to order a retreat. With reports coming in from Cresh that they were pinned and getting chewed apart by explosives, I intended to stay behind and have Dorn and Besh help. Sith Kaer was coming in with troops, and we needed to get everyone out - but the Republic retreated at her arrival.

Avos were both critical - Cresh was heavily injured, the whole lot, but the Corporal and I worked on getting stabilizing Wellsow, who took critical wounds. The rest of Besh and Dorn were well comparatively, and we brought all of our injured to the shuttles. I stayed with the injured, aided Naval Captain Sahrah as she offered her expertise, to save the life of Specialist Nachemi while our Medbay was taxed, relying on her advanced medical training.

I'm leaving this report open in case the Corporal wishes to report exactly what happened on his front, but in the end, we all took out a lot of forces and as of yet, all are slated to survive. As my first command... I feel I could have done better, and I plan to reflect on this for next time. But my men are alive, and I hope to never again have such injuries among them. They all held out spectacularly against overwhelming opposition, and we all took out three to four times our number. A pyrrhic victory.

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
