Warfront: Operation Stormline

#1
Warfront - Operation: Stormline
[Image: Image1.png]

Tertiary Kesmere was the largest, with increased infrastructure and reinforcing under the helm of 3 megacorps: Oriyn Prospecting identified and unlocked resources, while Kessdyne Resource Group extracted, refined and monetized them from their headquarters in Vethar's Reach, the capital city of Tertiary Kesmere. Haeltor Maritime transported and accommodated exports off-world.

Under a guise of job opportunity and economic growth, Imperial Command picked up on the true reason: To make Tertiary Kesmere a forward point of operations, for eventual strikes into the Northern Territories. This truth remained known only to them and the Horuset Powerbase that accepted directives from  Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories.  - to covertly disrupt their plans, and delay the Republic's efforts.

Their efforts were to be disrupted and delayed; or a true plot uncovered and prevented. The Dark Lords and the Pentarchy held only one answer: It would be done. After weeks of infiltration, sabotage and covert preparations they made their base from a forward operation post in Khelmar’s Rise - with two weeks to cause as much disruption as possible, and withdraw before the Republic took notice…

And thus they did, leaving in their wake a population in anarchy, corporations choked on their own lies for the first time and rallied anti-corporate local guilds - all who never came to know the Empire's hand in these ignited pyres. Yet the Republic has answered swiftly, and with an escaped Shadow Cell known only as ‘Open Arms’, the ashes will no doubt stir in retaliation…

What is this thread?

This thread will serve as documentation for the first ever warfront run in House Horuset. A summarizing chronicle of the preparations leading up to it, major guild events and what the aftermath of it was. What truly drove this warfront, and even saw some of the guild events possible, was the players driving the plot forward and creating roleplay.

An effort has been made to rope in larger player actions, or what they contributed towards as a goal - but lots of RP happened in a span of 2 weeks + the efforts before. If you see something missing please contact Sarias/Sab via DMs.

Below you will find various entries, with the first post being the main event, followed by the maps and details of the planet, player created propaganda and even some fake identities created. Perhaps by reading this you are reliving fun or tense moments from the Warfront, find inspiration to do your own, or maybe you're just curious of the guild’s history. Regardless, May you have a splentastic time.

Pre-window Stage

After the Pentarchy was summoned by the Dark Lords and their answer was given, internal deliberations and several war plans presented would see War Plan: Irdwi Trnika take shape: To covertly sabotage, influence and disrupt the planet’s local and corporate stability under the guise of disgruntled workers, firebrands and locals reeling from the crafted unrest. Yet even in these initial preparations the smallest mistakes could leave cracks.
  • Infiltration of Haeltor Haulers on Pollus (daughter-company of Haeltor Maritime) and insertion of an H.I.D agent disguised through alchemical means. This would come to serve as the Powerbase’s primary mode of transportation and insight into corporate shipping lanes.
  • A crew capable of convincing forgeries was hired, known as the Corridor Crawlers
  • Firearms modified with Republic parts, sourced through methods used by insurgents on Alsolun to easily arm local firebrands, and frame the Republic
  • Serena Kael, a news anchor of 30 years from Kesmere On Edge, was recruited with blackmail on Haeltor Maritime. The blackmail was recovered from an associate of hers before the Republic could dispose of the evidence.
  • Local slicer gang lead by the Muun Varlo, and a fixer by the name of Ithis Korr with formerly Republic ties. The two would come to function as intermediaries for local unrest and monitoring networks.

Most importantly the forward operations base in Khelmar’s Rise was secured - a condemned hab block near the outskirts of Khelmar’s Rise.

In efforts of remote scouting and information gathering, The Republic’s eyes were cast to the Kesmere Spine - sparking the Republic’s own unseen hunt for what later would disrupt Tertiary Kesmere’s very way of life.

Landfall

Amongst unmarked freighters the insertion teams deployed, bearing witness to the splendor of the capital city of Vethar’s Reach with its skyscrapers and interconnected waterways, passing over unassuming coastal villagers before making landfall at Khelmar’s Rise. Listening devices, planted cameras and foot traffic in disguises swiftly saw the city become the playground for sith and imperial alike. Within the confines of the re-fitted habblock, the force could flow freely to a limited degree - a sorcerous spell of concealment safeguarding them from any jedi that may pass close. Needing constant feeding of power, it served a much needed safeguard.

Ambrosia

The first strike to the hearts of the locals came in the slaughter of local, nearly extinct whales called Ironbacks, who’s numbers had dwindled under corporate greed. It had been marked a target through research done prior to deployment. Splitting in two one team discreetly sabotaged a large off-shore rig known as Solan’s Towers, owned by Oriyn Prospecting, arriving there via the whales themselves. The gruesome deaths were pinned on the corporate structure, while the second team secured a survey boat for later strikes on the Capital city. The first media campaigns was sparked from this, fueling propaganda and damage control…

A signal from the ship, managed moments before death, would cast a light on the shadows the powerbase relied upon..

Hysteria

Before the next strike an investigation into luring out potential jedi were launched, lightsaber parts circulated dismantled around markets until there was a bite: A bombshell of a woman escaping on a speeder, planted tracker trailing her partway that would see a hidden S.I.S base uncovered, and from it two things learned:

A Jedi shadow cell known as ‘Open Arms’ was already planetside…and a Thranta-class Corvette was on-route.

The powerbase continued with greater haste into the Capital City of Vethar’s Reach, slicing into the broadcast network of VPBN for later sabotage and targeting firebombing on key structural targets - local protests used to cover up dismantling the air traffic of the capital and destruction of PDF barracks.

From the streets locals had gone missing, only soothed slightly by the presence of a Republic-backed outreach headed by Doctor Swanns.

The Republic’s response to it all was swift and devastating - having learned enough of the local array, in one blinding strike it robbed the Horuset Powerbase access to local relays and networks, swirling the PR campaign back around.

Theusia

Streets grew emptier, air traffic all but stalled and the Republic began to sniff around the doorstep of Khelmar’s Rise, but the forces of the Empire moved swiftly in quickly fading shadows: Managing to uproot a member of the Shadow Cell, slaying him in the process and confirming ties to Doctor Swanns and the ‘Ironbackers’.

With little time left to pursue the good Doctor, attentions turned to striking the corporate heart directly: The Pollus Shipping Director Sen'jira Kravax, second-only to Haeltor Maritime’s Fleet Operations Council. Planetside for vital negotiations a press conference was arranged for. There the Horuset Powerbase met her with ignited protests, walking amongst the crowds. Arriving with jedi protection and Republic soldiers would prove not to be enough, with Director Kravax’ death marked an act of violent protesters.

In these efforts the Sith had given themselves away however, and time to escape before the Republic fleet locked off escape paths, or the Shadow Cell descended upon them, was running short…

Extraction

A constant presence of Republic Soldiers had arrived to Khelmar’s Rise by the day of extraction, streets growing quiet by early evening and a deafening silence hung over the Powerbase’s head. Quietly supplied was shipped off in select batches or destroyed if not vital - leaving an emptied husk of a base, as they made way to Vethar’s Reach via the stolen survey ocean vessel. In the escape, Republic fighters and a blinding sensation of the light arrived to Khelmar’s Rise - a reminder of just how close discovery had been.

Their target? The Republic’s Sensor Array that had come online - a vital tool in their reinforcing efforts of the planet. Using the last connections protests rung out across the city, spreading the Republic’s attentions and leaving a gap to be exploited. Slaughtering their way through Republic defences and arriving Jedi reinforcements, Horuset left no witnesses upon abandoning the Surface - leaving in their wake suffering, brimstone and ash.

Their escape was aided by targeted damaging of the Thranta-class in orbit, and causing mass panic using the previously planted transmitter on VPBN’s broadcast network. Using the recruited reporter Serana Kael, she exposed the truth behind the Kesheli-17 incident.

Then what happened?

I will refer you to our State of the Galaxy for further details, but safe to say Tertiary Kesmere shall never quite be the same, and the Republic will have to re-think their approach if they wish to stomp out the ever-marching boots of the Empire’s Conquest…

Maps and More
Below you will find the Map that was created for Khelmar’s Rise and some locations used! Note not every location or sub-map used is included.

Khelmar’s Rise
(OOCly Kessan’s Landing on Ord Mantell)

A north-by-north-west ridge-based urban center about 2 days travel  from the capital arcology of Vethar's Reach. Industrial based it harbors a mostly lower-class population with the medium income over 20% lesser than equal-positioned job listings in the capital city. Housing what one needs for life and a self-sufficient powerplant and supply of water, it has an acceptable influx of traders, merchants and those out on luck seeking refuge.

Over the last decade its had an influx of businessmen and upper-class investors that settled in the heart of Khelmar's Rise where apartment complexes now dot the skyline. Whenever its to conduct under-the-table dealings or simply enjoying a cheaper rent, it has led to an acceptable bustle of night life...and with it, the presence of a Planetary Defense Force Barracks. A far cry from a full garrison, it is staffed by trained PDF forces and a smaller grouping of militia. Rumors have sightings of a Republic presence within, but its either hearsay or not significant enough to have been confirmed.

Vethar's Reach
(OOC'ly Zakuul City)

The planetary capital and dominant arcology, Vethar’s Reach serves as the administrative, corporate, and logistical heart of the planet. Its vertical districts range from affluent executive tiers to heavily monitored industrial sublevels tied to shipping and resource export. Security presence is structured and layered, with corporate enforcement, municipal patrols, and contracted surveillance networks operating concurrently.

Coastal Villagers
(OOC’ly Onderon)

Small maritime settlements scattered along the western shoreline, primarily sustained by fishing, kelp harvesting, and light trade with Haeltor Maritime traffic. Infrastructure is modest and weather-worn; outsiders are noticeable, and local loyalty tends to favour whoever keeps supply routes stable. Some are located not far from Khelmar's Rise, reachable on-foot and speeders. Others are further away, including one of the largest known as Lethar's Leap that connects many of the smaller ones as a point of trade and community.

Propaganda

A long-running hook for the duration of the two weeks, our player created propaganda helped influence the public opinion IC, and allowed great creativity to be on display from our players.

Made by Apprentice Cadeon:

"The megacorporations have sold everything to the ravenous greed of The Republic. Our resources, our health, our children and our planet were sold without our consent."
"Off-world soldiers gather behind fortified walls, 'advisors' counsel the leaders of the corporations, a weapons platform is constructed in our distant orbit - it's guns are the cordon that turn our home into our prison. This is not business, this is not democracy, this is occupation. Subjugation. Enslavement."
"Fight for Tertiary Kesmere, remove the Corporations - fight for your children's freedom."

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
