Mission Report - Squad Esk:

From our arrival to the cold lake, we'd of checked our gear for damages and ensured everything and everyone was secured and prepared before we began our journey southbound. The weather conditions were certainly a pain as the planet's rain fall added extra difficulty to the long march of roughly twenty kilometres. In this time, Esk would have themselves cover their armour in mud to somewhat better protect from heat seeking technology such as electrobinoculars. We encountered very little contact, not even an animal for the majority of the march. The squad would take their next break, filling up on water and eating from ration bars, when we heard rustling behind us - from the vegetation.

It was a long moment of pause on our side as we prepared ourselves for a possible firefight. Corporal Athun utilised his specialisation's spotter droid to try and deduce what the origin of the sound we had heard was. Eventually, the Corporal reported that they were friendly units. The friendly units would be navy personnel, a Captain led them. The squads exchanged pleasantries, status and their objectives before Esk squad packed up their gear once again and continued on their march to our objective. Besh would take point, heralded by Corporal Miriadas for the time being. A starfighter would soar over our heads as dawn neared. Unknown whether it was the pirates, unlikely the naval assets or just civilians. Whatever it was remains a mystery.

We marched on for a little longer before we sought out a temporary camp site to both rest and fully assess our minor wounds and properly treat them to stop infections under the guide of Sergeant Haldeen. As we rested, recuperated our energy, multiple things would occur over the course of the day. Most notably at roughly eleven twenty-two in the morning where two speeder bikes were racing around and then a few hours later where a woman with a hound passed by. The hound almost revealed our position but luckily the dog didn't proceed any further and returned back to their owner.

As the planet's sun gradually disappeared over the horizon, night came upon us and concealed us as it had done before. Esk readied up, lugging the gear upon our backs before we marched off with Besh leading us onward - once more heralded by Corporal Miriadas per Sergeant Mays' command. I had Aurek drag behind Besh, giving us some distance between the two squads to better prevent the chance of us being spotted. Besh came upon a bridge, nothing particularly special about the bridge at all, as they then ventured down a slope that resided underneath it. Fireteam Besh then waited upon the other side as Aurek tagged along. Corporal Athun made note of a speeder vehicle incoming as we then hid underneath the aforementioned bridge. Sergeant Haldeen attempted to get a look at it but results proved futile as it seemingly was out of view.

Aurek made their way down the slope as we eventually grouped up with Besh once more. We came across a hill close to the F objective. I had Esk take one final, albeit short, break. In this time, what we could see of the F objective were very little. Four sentries with varying degrees of weaponry stationed outside a seemingly unenterable building. As the time to radio our status to command drew near, we'd have flashing red lights upon our form. Corporal Athun realised they were allies speaking in morse code, spelling out the password. Once the possible threat was nullified, I'd shortly discuss with the new squad's leader. They would be another Sergeant from Leviathan. Esk handed them the mortar gear we carried for so long as we then went to assume firing positions.

Admittedly, the fatigue had got to me and made me momentarily have us focus on the F objective. Thankfully, I realised my mistake swiftly and switched onto our true target, the E objective. Sergeant Haldeen and Corporal Athun utilised their long range prowess to greater effect than the rest of Esk as they spotted two figures upon the roof of the E target. Both Aurek and Besh assumed their firing positions as we awaited the allotted time to finally strike and engage in open combat. I radioed in to command, informing them of our status per the guidelines, as we then held out until three-thirty.

As the time finally came, command initiated the strike order. Sergeant Haldeen and Corporal Athun swiftly took down the two targets atop the building as Besh were ordered to close in as Aurek acted as overwatch. Once Besh made to the building and breached, Aurek soon followed. However, the team were stopped by a group of pirates. The coordination of Aurek dispatched the group in seconds, double tapping the bodies to ensure victory in the engagement. A sudden explosion was heard. It originated from inside the building where Besh had breached. Besh were downed by a trap. Possibly a claymore or a mine or a tripwire. The specifics isn't known.

I had Aurek move in, halting by the door that held Besh's groans and moans and the blaster fire on the other side. Corporal Athun threw a flash, us alerting Besh of it of course, where Sergeant Haldeen and Private Zencarde swiftly breached and cleared the central room. The pirates were held up deeper inside however. Sergeant Haldeen went to provide medical aid to the gravely wounded, Corporal Miriadas. Aurek were doing what they can to keep the opposition occupied while Sergeant Mays managed to get back. Suddenly, a fragmentation grenade was thrown into our room. I rushed for it, attempting to throw it into the room where Esk had came entered from as it would be far faster and safer.

Unfortunately, the grenade went off as it reached the door, flinging shrapnel everywhere. I took a hit to my upper thigh and my back side essentially, leaving me bleeding at an alarming pace. Sergeant Mays, who of which I had no idea was also trying for the grenade, took a hit to the helmet. In fact, half of it was missing. We were greatly injured. Corporal Athun and Private Zencarde managed to dispatch of the two pirates, one of them possibly being the Zabraki female known as Skarletta, if what remained of her body was accurate. Corporal Athun radioed in our status and prepped the corpses of the dead as fake allies while he acted as the lone sentry for the time being. Corporal Athun also took the mantle of squad lead due to my injuries.

Private Zencarde, after retrieving soaked kolto bandages, would go to join the Corporal on guard duty as our current orders from command were to... survive. Sergeant Haldeen managed to stabilise the gravely injured Corporal, fixing what he can in the field before he saw to both Sergeant Mays and myself. There was no time for any recovery. Corporal Miriadas was left in the home whilst the rest of Esk, injured and otherwise, prepared defences as a speeder vehicle was rapidly approaching our coordinates. Corporal Athun called in for naval support and managed to destroy the vehicle. Friendly forces arrived to our position, allowing us to begin to head on over to the rally point.

After marching on, the injured Corporal placed upon a stretcher too, we eventually made it to the rally point. Corporal Miriadas was hurried to the appropriate facilities where myself and Sergeant Mays were crammed into a drop ship per our injuries. Sergeant Haldeen was ordered to stay behind by a medical officer to assist with the mass of injured civilians and imperials alike whereas Corporal Athun and Private Zencarde assisted with defences.

End Report

Injuries:

Sergeant Kienix: Shrapnel to the upper thigh, most removed by Sergeant Haldeen and stabilized. Yellow triage card.
Sergeant Mays: Shrapnel to the helmet and head. First aid provided by Sergeant Haldeen to stabilise. Yellow triage card.
Corporal Miriadas: Shrapnel and blast from an unknown trap. First aid treatment, and stabilization, by Sergeant Haldeen. Red triage card.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
