The following essay is available to the entire Horuset Powerbase
Fear
Upon accessing the file an image of a grotesque abomination would appear, a sketch of a creature with many faces. Each one contorted in a different way, showing a different form.
“What is fear? This question will have many different answers to anyone I ask, here I will address my views on what I believe to be one of the most powerful, seductive and most dangerous emotions on the spectrum of passion.”
“The abomination you see drawn above was one of my brother's, Vorontyr's, nightmares. These visions, these subconscious fears, plagued him at night. Echoes of our past and fragments of his shattered mind resurfaced in his subconscious mind. This fear was uncontrolled, unmoderated, it seduced him and overpowered him. It drove him to madness, to failure.”
Another image would be linked, yet again it was a sketch. A drawing of a young Pureblooded male with two faces. Attempting to tear the second, twisted, face from his own. Attempting to free himself from it.
“If fear is so potent, why do so many use rage, fury and anger?”
“Anger is the easiest emotion to draw on, but it will never be the most powerful. A provoked beast is strong, correct. Yet any animal is at its strongest and most dangerous when it experiences true fear, when it truly believes that its end has come, when it utterly submits to it's passion. Back a living being into a corner and they'll become more dangerous than you could have imagined.”
The next image presented is a common propaganda image, a large fight between Sith and Jedi where the Sith are taking the upper hand, defeating the Jedi.
“This fear comes from one aspect of life, covered in my previous essay, the innate desire in all beings to continue living. Their survival instinct. Fear is the one emotion that wholly exposes the lies of the Jedi.”
“No Jedi wishes to die, their natural being embraces the passion of fear, their innate survival instinct. These pivotal moments will either be the death, or the rebirth, of a Jedi. They will either lie to their natural being and purge their fear as much as they can, believing it will bring them strength when it only brings weakness, and they will die. Or, they will see the truth, embrace their desire to live, welcome their fear and adopt passion as their weapon. The Jedi like to call this a 'fall’ to the 'dark’ side, typical propaganda further adding to their lies. I prefer to call it an Ascension from Ashla to Bogan.”
An image of a lone being wearing Jedi robes yet wielding a red lightsaber appears, seemingly another propaganda image.
“Once accepting Bogan the new Dark Adept, as they may not always become Sith, will experience a new surge of productivity. This acceptance of passion brings an almost constant sense of fear. A fear which, if mastered, is a most powerful weapon. It will break the stagnation of their former life, of the Jedi, and they will strive to constantly evolve for fear of another removing or surpassing them. This driving force is the strength of the Sith.”
“If they cannot master their fear, they will fall to madness, to paranoia and irrationality. Yet their fall will not be meaningless, another will have to face strife. The challenge of defeating this wild, fearful, beast will always carry the risk of death. Yet it will bring new strength to those who survive, I shared a force bond with Vorontyr, as he died in the maw of the Tuk'ata I felt his pain, his ultimate fear at the moment of death. I came out of it stronger. This culling of the mad will bring us closer to our ultimate prophecy, the endless cycle sparked by fear will lead our people down the path of evolution that will create the next Sith'ari.”
