An archeology report on the tomb of Ajunta Pall

Author: Natellia Aneirin
Position: Sith Acolyte
Affiliation: Sith Empire
Introduction:

By my own request and with the permission of my superiors in the Horuset powerbase, I was allowed to participate in an open archeology project on the holy world of Korriban. The project was set up by an archivist and archeologist known as Lord Zorhal, whose known on Korriban as being on the forefront of historical discoveries. The projected intended for acolytes of the order to learn more of the important Sith of centuries past. To that end, the project would lead us to the valley of the sleeping kings or, as it’s more commonly known today, the valley of the dark lords. Along with two other acolytes, I opted to venture to the tomb of Ajunta Pall and the excavations that had already been set up there. I, of course, would not be allowed to venture into the closed-off passages and to make sure that we didn’t step out of line, there was an overseer with us at all times.

As most may know, I am not of Sith blood. My knowledge of imperial and Sith history lacked sorely and I opted to remedy that. Below, you’ll find my observations and discoveries within the halls of Ajunta Pall’s mausoleum.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Image: Statue-of-the-Throned-Sith.jpg]
Name (if applicable): ‘’Tave gtura tsis’’ - ‘’The throned Sith’’ (Inscription in common Sith)
Description: A statue standing at several meters tall and appearing to be made out of the rocks of Korriban herself. It depicts a hooded man, presumably Sith, sitting on a throne.
Meaning and significance: The area that is now called the Valley of the Dark Lords was filled with tombs of old Sith kings long before the exiles arrived and established dominance over the natives. There were several of these statues in the tomb and they depicted a human male Sith, not a pureblood. There were, of course, no human kings of the Sith and this depiction was perhaps an attempt made by the constructors to make Ajunta Pall appear as being on par and an equal of such kings as Adraas. It appears, however, that the age of these statues does not match the age of the surrounding tomb. This leads me to believe that perhaps they were added later.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Image: Sith-Tomb-Column-Statue.jpg]
Name (if applicable): (The inscription on the statue appeared to have eroded away over time, but it looked to be written in high Sith)
Description: The statue stood solely in the center room of the Mausoleum. As with the previous statue, it appears to be made out of stones from Korriban herself. Its hands were clutching an object that looked to be a container of knowledge. It had several gems embedded in the side.
Meaning and significance: I think it is reasonable to assume that this is a statue of Ajunta Pall himself. It stands tall and looks over anyone who enters. The container of knowledge that he is holding is likely meant to signify the knowledge he passed down to the ancient Sith race. He was, after all, one of the people that began teaching them. The abundance of gems embedded in the container would likely signify the richness of the knowledge that he possessed.

Name (If applicable): (None found)
Description: This inscription written in High Sith was found on a stone tablet near the entrance of the tomb. Though it has eroded somewhat, I was able to copy over the runic inscriptions and translate it later. It reads as follows:

Titsû sis aiksosûti satyi dias zo kakijizi
iw ri tzirjatsa anas tuti ri nam'ju.
Ani shasona mus.
Mis tuti kam ani shasona mus.
Kakiji anim
‘’Let this place serve as a reminder
of the greatness that were the twelve.
They created us.
We are what they made us.
Remember them’’

Meaning and significance: This tablet is one that was likely made after the last of the exiles had died, because it does not appear to originally belong to the mausoleum. It speaks of the twelve, meaning the twelve Jedi exiles that left the republic and the jedi and arrived on Korriban, where they ruled over the native Sith. It is meant to encourage any visitor of the mausoleum to show the respect that the dead who inhabit this place deserve. As I did not have much experience in the writing and translation of High Sith, I spent a lot of time during to project learning.

Name (if applicable): ‘’Tsis’’ - ‘’Sith’’ (Written in common Sith)
Description: An inscription on a wall near the archway that led into the larger room of the Mausoleum. Out of all the inscriptions, this one was the best preserved. It reads as follows:

Ri shiyi zo wadinti tuhu, Ajunta Dzatmumaitina.
Anas tuti jiso wadinti.
Ri tuti wo iw nyâsh.
Ani tuti satyijau'ira iw ri jin' tnirma.
Ani doryumi uri wikiâ sith'jari.
Ani tuti tiati. Ir ri qorit, ani tuti nindz mazo tiati.
Ani shias is tsioâ ani isdawi.
Ani tina, diâ ri zinoti oi waria tuti mazo
‘’He had a name once, Ajunta Pall.
That was his name.
He was one of many.
They were servants of the dark side.
They called themselves Sith lords.
They were proud.
In the end, they were not so proud.
They hid from those they betrayed.
They fell, and he knew it would be so''

Meaning and significance: It is a description of Ajunta Pall, which was likely made by an observer or a good friend of his who simply wrote down what he himself said. The inscription talks of the successes of the exiles, yet also of their failures. It likely has been a regret that they never struck at the Republic during their lifetimes and instead left it to those who came after them.

Name (if applicable): (There was none)
Description: I found this stone tablet laying in a pile of sand at the foot of the tall statue in the center chamber of the mausoleum. After carefully excavating it with a small shovel and a brush, I found that its runic inscriptions had been excellently preserved. The high Sith inscription read as follows:

Jiso ridis shasona rim nairi.
Jiso tita shasona rim shuriji.
Jiso kûts shasona rim warkijsi
‘’His words made him feared.
His deeds made him honored.
His death made him immortal’’

Meaning and significance: The first line likely speaks of the sort of things he preached back when Ajunta Pall was still serving as a jedi master. As I’ve come to understand it, what we viewed as progressive and visionary was viewed by the jedi as heretic and dangerous. It is what sparked the war. The second line speaks of his actions during the war, but most importantly of his actions during his exile that made him truly an Icon. He could have spent his days wandering around the galaxy without a purpose, but he instead chose to pass on what he had learned and gave the Sith the tools to build an Empire that last for millennia after his death. The last line also indicates this. His death was not the end. They never stopped remembering him.
-----------------------------
[Image: Z9hxARQ.jpg]
Name (if applicable): ‘’Jri uja kia jis’’ - ‘’An ode to him’’ (written in Common Sith)
Description: I am to believe that the tablet with the inscription was made by an admirer of Ajunta Pall, who was likely a part of the Kissai caste. The inscription reads as follows:

Zo mikn war tija.
Zo mikn diu tuti zûtazihri.
Zo mikn diu tuti tsosûtaiyi.
Ri dujomi.
Ri wa.
Ri Jin'ari iw ri Tsis
‘’A man without faith.
A man who was lost.
A man who was found.
Our leader.
Our king.
The Dark Lord of the Sith’’

Meaning and significance: The first thing that struck me about this inscription is the last line, which called Ajunta Pall a ‘Dark lord of the Sith’. This was a title that exiles gave themselves and not one that the natives attributed to them. The admirer presumably denoted him as such to show the respect that he or she had for him. A man without faith likely means the time during which he was a jedi outcast. A man who was lost speaks of his time spent wandering the galaxy. A man who was found speaks of his arrival on Korriban. The last three lines, short as they are, show how important Ajunta Pall and the other exiles ended up being for the ancient Sith race
----------------------------------------------------

Afterword:

I have found this project to be enlightening. I never knew learning history could be this exciting and invigorating. I have come to understand so much more of the old Sith and their ways that I am sure I will be able to use their lessons and become a better Sith myself. I do hope others will view this as I have.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
