Standing at a respectable 5’10 (179 cm), Sith Tarimra’s classical Pureblood features remain physically unaffected by the ravages of the Dark Side of the Force. Vibrant red eyes seem to burn and glow in the relatively gaunt features of the Pureblood’s face, set under long and expressive eyeridges in a countenance decorated with the traditional gold jewellery of the Sith. With his long, black hair often neatly braided, it becomes clear that Sith Tarimra takes great pride in his nigh-unblemished appearance, and holds himself with great confidence because of it.
Always adorned in long robes with a hood and cloak, these robes have come to symbolise Sith Tarimra following his 'fall' and placement under Lord Kalkoran as his Apprentice. The cloak is a symbol of status, folding around his shoulders in a comfortable embrace, and a sign of what he is: a Household Sith of the Horuset Powerbase.
His face is decorated with pieces of gold jewellery as benefits an adult Sith Pureblood; on his nose, under his eyes, and at the edges of his mouth is embedded simple golden jewellery denoting his adulthood, but this is not the only jewellery the Pureblood wears. Around his neck and under his robes are two golden necklaces, embedded with a single deep red ruby each; under his left-hand glove, he wears on his index finger a simple golden ring, embedded, too, with a red gem.

[td] ⦾ Darth Horuset
Tarimra’s relationship with his second cousin, the Dark Lord of Horuset, is an interesting one. From Tarimra’s side, there is utmost devotion: the Dark Lord commands his loyalty as few others do. Where Tarimra would baulk at the orders of anyone else, the Dark Lord’s commands to him are like gospel; to be obeyed and honoured at all times.
⦾ Lord Kalkoran
From Tarimra’s side, there is respect for the accomplishments, manners, and titles. There is respect for his family, for his Purity, respect for the services his Lordship has performed for the powerbase, and the power he wields. More recently, there is a sense of burgeoning dedication and utmost loyalty: Lord Kalkoran may not be Darth Horuset, but he certainly commands Tarimra’s loyalties and actions just as much as the Dark Lord does, and not only through the fact that Lord Kalkoran is Tarimra's Sith Master.
⦾ Sith Sarias
Perhaps an unsurprising revelation, it is known that Sith Tarimra has an almost casual relation with Sith Sarias, often sharing tea and casual conversation with her almost since he arrived in the Horuset Powerbase all those years ago now. Tarimra regards her with polite affection, noting her among his most fondly regarded acquaintances within the powerbase. Sith Sarias serves a very particular use in a very particular field of the powerbase, and this has earned her Tarimra's respect - if not admiration for creations like Prince. Sith Sarias is one of the few with whom Tarimra has an almost friendly relationship.
⦾ Apprentice Eddi Hozan
Originally born out of use, shifting into a cooperative manner, and then once more into a utilitarian Master-Apprentice bond, the relationship between Sith Tarimra and Eddi Hozan is certainly tumultuous. Indeed, it is publicly known that they worked together, yet the extent of such cooperation is unknown.
[*]
- ⦾ The Horuset Powerbase
Being the powerbase wherein Tarimra has served for all his life, it is no surprise to many that the advancement of the goals of the Powerbase is high on Tarimra's list of priorities. A loyal member and former Sith Lorekeeper of the powerbase, he lives to serve its goals.
- ⦾ The Kalkoran Powerbase
Having originally started his journey as Sith within the Kalkoran Powerbase under the wing of Sith Soti, Tarimra has essentially come full circle. As such, his opinion of- and relationship with- the Kalkorans has shifted from loyalty to distaste to loyalty once more. After all, he owes all he still has remaining to the protection of his new Master, the Kalkoran Patriarch himself.
- ⦾ The Sphere of Production and Logistics
Like all within the Horuset Powerbase, Sith Tarimra plays some minor role in the sphere of production and logistics, especially now that he is the Apprentice to Lord Kalkoran. While his role within the Sphere is minor and relatively unimportant (he served as Sith Curator when Darth Shaar demanded tribute from the Powerbase), it is sure to increase in the months to come.
- ⦾ The Sphere of Ancient Knowledge
While Tarimra, like all in the Horuset Powerbase, officially serves within the Sphere of Production and Logistics, it is known to those who have access to the required databases or who have known Tarimra longer that his true interests lie within the Sphere of Ancient Knowledge, wherein he serves as a historian, archivist, and archaeologist.

“All magic comes with a price!”
-Sith Tarimra
While Sith Tarimra considers himself a Sith first and a scholar second, this is a relatively recent development. Prior, he focused almost solely on the scholarly arts and the Force- neglecting his body and even the blade. More recently, however, he has accepted that to be a Sith is to train both body and mind: and since then, he can be seen almost daily in the training room. The body is a weapon, and finally, Sith Tarimra has begun to hone it.
It is known in the Empire that to complete your own goals and to ascend ever higher is a prized virtue--one Sith Tarimra treasures above all else. Willing to do whatever it takes to increase his own influence and authority alongside that of the House of Horuset, the Household Sith is a schemer and a plotter, working through backroom deals and subtle influence. He will not let anything or anyone stand in the way of his own ascending ever-higher, and often focuses solely on whatever he wants to accomplish. Yet, he usually delegates actually executing these plans to his servants and those within his sphere of influence: he only takes to the field himself when it is necessary and something demands his personal attention.
A famed deal-maker, Sith Tarimra is one of the few Sith who values integrity and honesty: if someone makes a deal with him, he will see it through, for through such he keeps his world in order, and to not see a deal through is a blow to how Tarimra sees himself and others: all magic comes with a price, and that price must be paid.
Many Sith are arrogant; so was and is Sith Tarimra. Although his fall from grace preceding his Apprenticeship to Lord Kalkoran has put this on the backburner, it is an irreversible fact that he sees himself as better than many others. Combined with his anti-alien views and his willingness to test and break those beneath him, this has resulted in a Sith whose moral compass is questionable; he will surround himself with- and embody perfection, whatever the means necessary, and whoever he needs to break to his will for it.

[td]- ⦾ Perhaps most notable for his usage of Form II, Makashi, Sith Tarimra can be considered an authority on its use and practice, having studied it almost solely for his entire life as a member of the Sith Order, which is coming up on a decade now. While he is not a master of the lightsaber or of the form itself, his knowledge of Form II is extensive and comprehensive.
- ⦾ The Force is a tool, the Sith say, and Sith Tarimra is adept at wielding it. Capable of most core abilities and their more advanced counterparts, wielding the Force and the Dark Side specifically comes easy to the Sith, who uses it with a deftness sometimes even those equal to his power.
- ⦾ Every great Sith has been capable of wielding the Dark Side incarnate: Force Lightning, which Tarimra certainly can--though recently only out of three fingers on his left hand instead of the full five. With his right hand usually wielding his lightsaber and the sheer ferocity with which Sith Tarimra can let loose with Force Lightning, it can also be said that a second hand would simply be too much.
- ⦾ Known as a generalist, Sith Tarimra has great skill in wielding the Force, able to bend the world to his will through a variety of Force abilities, ranging from Telekinesis in the form of Pushes, Pulls, Waves, Chokes, and even the devastating Force Burst; to mentalism in the form of the humble Affect Mind to Force Fear.
- ⦾ Sith Tarimra’s skill at Dampening his Presence in the Force is unrivalled within the Horuset Powerbase: it is an art the Sith has mastered, able to utterly hide his Presence--although he is not yet able to completely make it disappear, he is likely pursuing such techniques with the same focus as everything else he sets out to do.
- ⦾ “All magic comes with a price,” is not Tarimra’s motto for nothing: he is a Sorcerer himself, with a foot in all four of the Sorcerous schools as defined by Darth Horuset, though it is known that his capability with these ancient arts is thus far fledgeling at best. Still, the Horuset himself always seeks to improve.
- ⦾ Sith Tarimra did not take ‘phoenix’ to be his Sith Name for nothing: he has been seen twisting flames and creating walls of fire and thus studied the art of Pyrokinesis--although he rarely, if ever, teaches the art to others.
- ⦾ Sith Tarimra’s fighting style is defensively-oriented, and he has demonstrated a capacity to absorb or redirect electrical energy like Force Shock and Force Lightning through the relatively unknown ability of Tutaminis.
- ⦾ Recently, Sith Tarimra has been making advancements in the field of Force Fear: he now seems able to affect multiple people with it at the same time. This, however, is not Force Fear--not properly. This is Force Horror.

⦾ Horuset-issued Datapad
Granted to him when Tarimra joined the Horuset Powerbase, the datapad has served him dutifully for all these years. It is of standard Imperial make and is registered to the Horuset intranet. Always worn on his belt.
⦾ Horuset-issued Holocom
Granted to him when Tarimra joined the Horuset Powerbase, the datapad has served him dutifully for all these years. It is of standard Imperial make and is registered to the Horuset internal holonet. Always worn on his belt.
⦾ Armour
Constructed of more armoured materials, Sith Tarimra’s armour is a relatively recent addition to his wardrobe, reflecting the influence of his Master, Lord Kalkoran, in its very design. Armoured plates cover the immediate area around his neck and shoulders, where it transfers into armourweave with a similar armourweave cloak wrapping around his shoulders and descending to the ground.
⦾ Standard Robes
Constructed of armourweave and cloth; providing a measure of protection in daily life, Sith Tarimra’s robes are long and black, with a long cloak folded around the shoulders and descending to very nearly trail on the ground.
⦾ Curved-hilt lightsaber
Created after he lost his second lightsaber, this curved hilt is of the same design; longer than the usual Makashi hilt, and cast from chromium: a lightsaber-resistant material. It is simple and elegant in its design; always worn on Tarimra’s left hip.
⦾ Echani dagger
After being stabbed with it and returning to the Horuset Powerbase, this dagger was removed from Tarimra’s stomach, cleaned, and given to him as a reminder of his costly victory. It now bears pride of place on his right hip, opposite of his lightsaber.
⦾ Two Amulets of Power
Worn under Tarimra’s robes as two necklaces, these two Amulets are independent stores of energy for Tarimra, which he uses in particularly dire circumstances to keep himself going in the heat of combat. One is a silver necklaces, the other gold, both set with large rubies in which the energy is actually stored.
⦾ A Journal (Rasas Iw Zo Horuset)
Started when Tarimra was but an Acolyte in the Powerbase, this journal he keeps on him at all times. It details his experiences in the powerbase, although it hasn’t been updated in quite some time. It is worn on the inside of his robes, at the right side of his body under his arm.
⦾ Sorcerous Tome (Notes on the Arcane)
His Sorcerous Tome, Tarimra started this when he was Apprenticed to Sith Narazri. It details the theory of all Sorcery he knows and is likewise always kept on him, on the left side of his body, under his arm.
⦾ A durasteel dagger
Originally owned by Lord Saltaeon, she used this to pin a message to Sith Irizka in the desk of the Sith Lorekeeper, decrying him to be idle, lazy, and absent. Left there with the message and touched only once (and likely never read by Irizka himself), the dagger and its message were removed from the desk once Tarimra returned to his position: it is now concealed in Tarimra’s robes as a quaternary weapon.
⦾ Wooden cane
Sith Tarimra wields and holds a simple but elegant wooden cane, usually in his left hand, which he uses both as a walking aid and as a part of his image--and, very occasionally, as an aid in combat. For whilst it is made of wood, like his first cane, this cane has lightsaber-resistant properties: its innards are imbued with Norris Root, added by the expert artisans of the Hymn, from whom Tarimra commissioned this piece of art. So is the area under its grip detailed with a golden phoenix, spreading its wings: a direct reference to Tarimra’s Sith Name. |

[td] [spoiler=Chapter I: Pressure]
Chapter I: Pressure
“To be a Horuset is not learnt; it is forged and birthed through sheer pressure like the strongest crystals or the purest diamonds in the known galaxy.”
- Krassus Vexal Horuset, Ist Sith Lorekeeper and Lord of the Sith
Born in 2 ATC as the eldest son to Lord Teius Lanirus Horuset and Rajana Talae Horuset (née Vazam), Valeus Vexal Horuset grew up as every Horuset child does. Coddled by his mother and watched from a far distance by his august father, he was taught Common Sith and High Sith first, followed by Basic, as are all Horusets. Fostered by his mother in particular, at a young age already Valeus spent many an evening pouring over the ancient history of the House and the Empire both, taking after his grandfather--Lord Krassus Vexal Horuset, the first Lorekeeper--more than he ever did his father at that young age. Growing up a thin, small child, Valeus was refined under the everlasting pressure that forges each and every Horuset, yet he retained his gangly, gaunt self, and so dived more into history and the past than ever before - perhaps to forget the present.
Yet, as the years went on, his mother, first so close and loving of the young boy, began to distance herself from him, and the expectations placed upon young Valeus grew and grew. Bettering himself physically alongside his mental exploration of the past and present, Valeus was educated by tutors and his Lord Father both in the arts of the blade and the Force, in the latter of which he was found to be highly proficient. Tested time and time again, Valeus developed his staunchly dutiful disposition, and interred within his very psyche were the fiery values of his Bloodline.
Eventually, the time came for Valeus, now sixteen, to be sent to the Dromund Kaas Sith Academy, as so many of his kith and kin before him. Stripped of his family name and all his possessions, young Valeus Vexal Horuset now became Acolyte Valeus, student at the Sith Academy. Spending but a year in the hallowed halls of the Academy, he proved himself as cunning as he was physically weak. Spending weeks in the Archives, the other Acolytes saw the small Pureblood as an easy target, yet his skill in the Force swiftly proved them wrong. Mostly staying out of the inter-Acolyte rivalries, Valeus cut himself a place on the edges of the Acolyte Pool, where he watched the other Acolytes tear each other apart like a pack of wild dogs while he himself continued improving and bettering himself.
Eventually passing through and successfully surviving his Academy Trials, Valeus--now nearing eighteen years old--was summoned back to the fold of his family, and so Acolyte Valeus of the Dromund Kaas Academy became Acolyte Valeus of the Horuset Powerbase.
Arriving in the Powerbase on the day of a Horuset Trial, Valeus, newly arrived from the Dromund Kaas Academy, immediately threw himself into the ensuing Trials. And while he did not manage to pass any of them ‘successfully’, the Overseers did mark the young Horuset as a Purist, cautious entrepreneur, all of which do describe him adequately--or did at the time. Passing through his Trials mostly unremarkable, as he had done in the Academy, Valeus spent the weeks following the Trials trying to prove himself worthy to the Dark Lord Herself to serve Her as Her Apprentice.
Instead, following rather… Unremarkable service in the Powerbase after those few short weeks, Valeus was summoned by Sith Soti, then the Envoy of Purity and Sith Purifier, and Ascended to become her secondary Sith Apprentice. While being untested, unproven, and unremarkable, Valeus was nevertheless made a Sith Apprentice, and so joined the august order as so many of his kith and kin had before him.
Chapter II: Purity
“Usually, I adore lectures such as this. Through the written word, a student shows that he understands our superiority. Through such understanding, the divine truth of our order spreads through my powerbase.”
- Ahandra Yaria Horuset, Darth Horuset III
Thus taken on as an Apprentice to Sith Soti, the Envoy of Purity and Sith Purifier of the Powerbase, Apprentice Valeus Horuset set about improving himself. Being the only Horuset Apprentice since the elevation of his cousin, Vaenra Horuset, to become Sith Mitina, Valeus knew he had all eyes upon him--and so set about creating a stable platform for himself while he learnt all he could from his Master.
Pursuing her own form of choice--Form II, Makashi--Valeus was swiftly educated also in the Way of the Greater Krayt Dragon: Shien, and taught the basics of the Force in the core- and adept-abilities so common to the Sith serving in the Horuset Powerbase. This was done at a rapid pace, for the Horuset realised that he was certainly the weakest Apprentice at the time; unbowed and unbroken, but also untested and, indeed, unchallenged. And, almost immediately, the challenge came. Sith Acolyte Somûz Regulus challenged Valeus--and they fought to a draw. Embarrassing, disappointing, and a sign to the Apprentice, already growing arrogant, of how far he had to come still.
Yet, as quickly as he became an obstacle, the Acolyte Regulus vanished again, seemingly disappearing into thin air as Valeus continued his training. Learning from his Master, Sith Soti, such abilities as Force Barrier and Force Augmentation, the young Apprentice searched elsewhere for more arcane abilities--later learning from Apprentices Sovernus Nova and Rendvir Arvanis such arts as Force Lightning and from the Apprentice Noctalius Force Grip.
Establishing for him a stable basis in knowledge, Valeus next turned to politics--and more specifically, to purity. Convincing his Master into naming him the secondary Assistant-Purifier, alongside Apprentice Rendvir Arvanis. Using his position to police the purity of the powerbase, the young Apprentice wrote a report on the Purity of the Acolyte Pool to present to his Master, Sith Soti, and the Dark Lord Herself.
So too did he write a piece on the Sith Code, and send it to his Master, Sith Soti, who sent it to the Dark Lord. That piece, Qotsisajak, was one of the young Horuset’s greatest mistakes. Summoned by the Dark Lord Herself, Valeus was reamed out for a myriad of philosophical mistakes he made in the essay; and he was punished harshly for an unintentional threat to the Dark Lord he included in the document. Thus, in a single act, the Dark Lord instilled an abject fear of Her within the young Horuset, a fear that remains to this day--a chain which he shall have to break eventually.
Yet, not all was lost in his punishment at the hands of the Dark Lord. Retaining his position as a student under Sith Soti, Valeus began his study of Form II, Makashi. He quickly adapted to the form, learning such ‘on the job’ while sparring with her in the form, of which he learnt the footwork and general principles--becoming proficient with them rather quickly. It has since become his main form of lightsaber combat, one of the few he knows, and his skill in it is undoubtedly rivalled by few.
So too did he receive from Sith Soti then a lightsaber hilt, and instructions to create the weapon of a true Sith: a lightsaber of his very own. Taking the required ingredients, Valeus sat down in front of the crystal forge in the Horuset Spire and poured his heart and soul into the crystal that powered his lightsaber for a long time.
Yet, this was the moment, too, that the relationship between Master and Apprentice began fraying. Valeus had long been caught in the orbit of the up-and-coming Sith Apprentice Rendvir Arvanis, Patriarch of House Arvanis and senior Sith Apprentice to the Dark Lord of Horuset Herself. A cooperative, even student-teacher relationship had already developed between the pair even during Valeus’s Acolytehood within the Powerbase: it was Rendvir whom he sought out in informing of his intent to serve the Dark Lord directly. The Apprentice saw Valeus’s Master, Sith Soti, as incompetent--a fact that was confirmed to both Valeus and Rendvir when Sith Soti was reamed out by the Dark Lord Herself during a meeting of the Bloodline and its vassals. While this did little in the short term, it ignited within Valeus a spark of disobedience, of independence: the desire to use Soti to gain all he could from her before finding himself a new Master.
And so he did: using Soti to fulfil his own ambitions, Valeus saw himself removed from his position as Assistant-Purifier, and was instead appointed by Sith Kaer (at the time the Lorekeeper of the Powerbase) as Assistant-Lorekeeper, upon the suggestion of Rendvir during the Orsus Campaign and the rivalry between the Horuset and Axiom powerbases. Shaped by Soti and Kaer both to be a Force-user first, a warrior second, Valeus learned from Sith Soti the basics of Sith Sorcery: Soti Asarsi, sparking a desire to learn all of Sorcery he could, starting also his descent truly into the Dark Side. All magic, after all, has a price.
And so, all seemed to be going well for the young Horuset, until a fateful mission to an abandoned Harrower-class saw the death of Apprentice Rendvir Arvanis. Left rudderless, his ambitions of an Apprenticeship under the Sith-to-be dashed, Valeus withdrew further into his scholarly bubble and mannerisms from his youth, showing his face little in the powerbase proper--withdrawing further from Sith politics.
Venturing to Serenno to visit a mausoleum complex he had acquired through negotiation, Valeus met at the court of the famous Count Regan, his second cousin, the brother to the Dark Lord Herself. Cautus Moribus Horuset, better known as Sith Narazri. Quickly finding themselves familiar, the two Horusets forged a plot and a scheme to see Sith Soti fall, and… ‘Rescue’ Valeus from the smothering clutches of her growing irrelevance--she had some time before been removed from her position as Envoy of Purity.
And so it happened: Valeus Vexal Horuset, in a few words from one Household Sith to another, was Neophyted and Apprenticed once more, to Sith Narazri.

War in the Northern Territories
The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!
|
"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."
((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
