Although the Sith Code was written by the Jedi Exile Sorzus Syn, it is what sets the Sith apart from the mindless dark Jedi. Amythia Aeros, in her document “Assignment: Sorzus Syn” states that to her understanding the Sith Code wouldn’t exist without the Jedi Exiles, meaning the Jedi were essential for the creation of the modern Sith. As I will show in this essay, the Jedi Code is a complete and utter failure.
How a sickening order with a failing philosophy managed to create something as magnificent as the modern Sith order by accident, is a mystery that is beyond me. I think that it should be studied as well.

In this essay I’ll debunk the Jedi Code even further than what was already done in the article “Qotsisajak” by Apprentice Valeus Horuset. I recommend you read it, preferably even before reading this essay.

The following is the modern version of the Jedi Code:
There is no Emotion, there is Peace
There is no Ignorance, there is Knowledge
There is no Passion, there is Serenity
There is no Chaos, there is Harmony
There is no Death, there is the Force

It lacks an important thing in its current form, which was formed by Odan-Urr in 343 BTC. I will describe later in this essay, its lack of consistency.

There is no Emotion, there is Peace
This is the first line in the Jedi Code. Already with its first words it’s proving how wrong it is. “There is no emotion”, every sapient creature in this galaxy, to my knowledge, experiences emotion. Apprentice Horuset truthfully says in his article “Qotsisajak” that “Emotion is the driving force behind all life”. Everything sapient creatures do is dictated by their emotions and Sith learn to use theirs as a tool to become strong and through that strength gain power. But the Jedi? The Jedi deny their emotions: When someone suppresses their emotions they stress more, get migraines and even heart problems. But more than that, every so often someone who suppresses their emotions causes them to act more aggressively and for the Jedi, that can ruin their peaceful negotiations and attempts at creating harmony. The next part of that line “there is Peace” is problematic for two reasons: One of them is that it’s framed like it’s the opposite of emotions which is as saying: “any made up concept is the opposite of emotions”, that’s simply not true. The other problem with that line is that it’s simply false as the Sith Code accurately puts it: “Peace is a lie.”. You don’t need the Sith Code to tell you that since conflict is natural. Moreover, there was never a state where the galaxy was peaceful. Even then if the Jedi really wanted to have this made up idea of peace, I doubt they could achieve it when they’re carrying the two most deadly weapons in the universe - Lightsabers and the Force.

There is no Ignorance, there is Knowledge
I don’t have much to say about this other than citing the Assistant-Lorekeeper, once more, who says that: “While the Jedi claim they serve in the interests of knowledge, they hide knowledge from those worthy: the members of their Order, and keep it away from the curious, and the brave”. He has much more to say about this line in his work.

He has much more to say about this line in his work.

There is no Passion, there is Serenity
This line has problems akin to the first line. “There is no passion” this is blatantly wrong. We do have emotions but the Jedi repeating this part after beginning with “There is no emotion” makes them focus on their denial of passion, Jedi following this part can be easily compared to skilled droids - mindless and dull. However, the next part of this line really shows the hypocrisy of the Jedi: “there is Serenity”. Nevertheless, Serenity is an emotion and that blatantly contradicts the first part of their Code which says: “There is no emotion”. If there is no emotion, how can there be Serenity? Other than what I’ve already said, this part once again is shown like those two are opposites. But passion and serenity aren’t wholly incompatible unlike what this line implies.

There is no Chaos, there is Harmony
The best argument for this line is the first part of the Sith Code “Peace is a lie”. That also means that conflict is natural. Conflict exists ,as I’ve stated previously, the galaxy was never peaceful. It was always chaotic. If the galaxy was harmonious, the Jedi wouldn’t have even needed to be created. However, sadly the Jedi are a thing which proves the whole second part of this line wrong.

And lastly
There is no Death, there is the Force
What I believe the Jedi mean by this is that when you die you become part of the force. A literal interpretation of this line would not make sense at all like the rest of their Code. So I will tackle this from the way I think they interpret this. The idea that death transforms you into part of the Force is simply depressing. I doubt they even truly believe it. The Force is a tool. Thinking that when someone dies they become part of a tool is needlessly depressing.

Finally, to emphasize the point I made at the start of this essay: Whereas the Sith Code is logical and consistent, the Jedi Code is not: The Sith Code starts with a universal truth, stating that “Peace is a lie”. Then the Code starts describing a progression of the ideal Sith. It ends by saying another obvious truth: that after the progression this ideal Sith has done, the force shall set him free. In comparison, the Jedi code has no consistency and is illogical, as I proved. The Jedi also believe that they serve the will of the Force. Although, as the ancient imperial scholar Nohj Nonnel stated in an incomplete work of his before his death

“You got to serve yourself
Ain't nobody gonna do it for you
You got to serve yourself
Ain't nobody gonna do it for you
(That's right, lad, you better get that straight into your fuckin' head)
You got to serve yourself
(You know that, who else is gonna do it for you, it ain't me, I tell you that)”

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
