Operation: Solace Horizon [DEADLY POTENTIAL]

#1
OOC NOTE: This mission has the potential to be a deadly Operation, along with Operation Asclepius.

OPERATION: SOLACE HORIZON

[The rasp of Lord Vipion's voice is heard, speaking over a map of the Northern Territories.]

"While this problem is far away from our main frontlines, it holds potential for us- valuable recruits and valuable information, potentially."

[The image of a map shifts and turns, revealing a set of coordinates close to Denova with a pulsing image of a radar, indicating a location.]

“An SOS signal from the Solace Horizon, a state-of-the-art medical vessel, was received 48 hours ago. The distress beacon was traced to a location close to Taris, carrying patients from the Western Front”.

[A gesture from the aging woman and the camera shifts to show a set of coordinates several hyperspace jumps away.]

“The ship itself has been located several hyperspace jumps near Botajef, raising concerns of a deliberate diversion. The Solace Horizon carries 30 medics and 200 patients, many of whom are officer rank and are severely injured. Communication attempts with the ship have been received, but not replied to.”

“I will be providing quarantine gear and equipment as requested. I will require participants to reach out to me before I approve their attendance. I require a single, dedicated leader, whether it be Imperial or Sith. The number of Sith who attend will depend on how many Imperials wish to attend.“

"The nature of the distress signal indicates an unknown external or internal threat. The situation suggests a high likelihood of infection outbreak, potential sabotage, or hostile boarding."

"I intend to organize a strike team to board this vessel. There is every possibility that its proximity could mean Rakghouls. My vaccines no longer work- I am asking you to risk your life and plan accordingly."

[After the playbacked message the hologram flickers away, fading from view. Leaving the viewer then able to access the rest of the information entailed...]

THREAT ASSESSMENT
  • Rakghoul Infection: Highly contagious via bite or scratch. Victims transform within hours, depending on their immunity and exposure level. The Rakghoul plague is one of the most virulent threats in the galaxy. Exercise extreme caution. WE DO NOT CURRENTLY POSSESS EFFECTIVE VACCINES. BITES ARE FATAL, ALWAYS.
  • Environmental Risks: A stranded ship holds a number of risks including decompression.
  • Survivors: Panicked or wounded personnel may act unpredictably, requiring careful handling.
  • Infected Individuals: Must be considered hostile. Lethal force is authorized to prevent further transmission.
  • Uninfected Survivors: Isolate and provide them with supplies for survival where possible.

Primary Objective:
  • Investigate the source of the SOS signal and assess the situation aboard the Solace Horizon.

Secondary Objectives:
  • Secure the ship.
  • Ensure the safety of the medical personnel and patients aboard.
  • Neutralize any hostile entities or threats encountered.

Tertiary Objectives:
  • Recover the ship's black-box logs for further analysis.
  • Other details to be discussed with Lord Vipion privately.

((OOC NOTES: THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DEADLY OPERATION. MISSIONS WITH RAKGHOULS ARE ALWAYS DEADLY. I WILL BE TELLING EVERYBODY ABOUT THIS REPEATEDLY. ONE, BOTH, OR NEITHER OF THESE MISSIONS WILL HAVE RAKGHOULS IN IT. MISSION MUST BE DONE BY THE END OF JANUARY))

Team Members&Roles

- Charace Vulker (Team Support, Droid Captain)
- Lyrissa Elvarthane (Team Support, Dedicated Slicer)
- Xulia Horuset (Grunt, Mid-Range)
- Safiyya Tanamart (Grunt, Frontliner)
- Vlorakaar Vipion (Team Leader, Grunt, Frontliner)

After a successful landing and launching into the first steps of our Operation, we found a second room which consisted of multiple openings and tight corridors which led one further. There we encountered our first sighting of Rakghoul activity, which was quickly dealt with. More followed. Apprentice Lyrissa busied herself by slicing into the Ship's communication systems and successfully established a comm-link between the other rooms ships of which the med-bay was filled with Imperials just under three-digits in size. Safiyya, Xulia, myself and Charace held off multiple waves throughout, which was further assisted by Charace's thus far exceptional skill in operating our Imperial Battle droids.

We were led through the central part of the vessel and into its inner sanctum, which was closed off by a massive Durasteel door. Sensing a great number of our enemies' strength past that door, we decided to use booby-traps and everything else available in our equipment to hold them off through the thin corridor in order to depreciate the quantity of their attacks. A giant Behemoth was slain in combination of more than a hundred Rakghouls by our official account, with no visible injuries to any one inside the party. Contact with the Med-staff was made, the ship was purged of Rakghoul activity , the remains and the staff was dropped off at Jaguada.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
