After Action Report - Republic Scouts
Attendees:

Report:
During the later hours of the day, turning to the darkness of night even, Leviathan's open communications line received an alert from a member of the 2nd Company, evident by their call-sign: 'Juice.' The alert sent was of reports of Republic activity North of the Southern Arc, a scouting team and that the imperials there were in dire need of assistance as they had not yet successfully managed to put up their barricades. Hearing this, I mounted my speeder bike and headed off, an Imperial Assault Droid in tow.
As I arrived, I encountered both Specialist Miriadas and Private Trisdane already at the scene, the sounds of a small skirmish and pot shots could be heard clear as day. A Specialist from the 2nd Company, to which I have not even the smallest clue to their name or call-sign, informed us of the ongoing situation. To put it simply, the Specialist informed us that directly across from the barricade, a recon party of Republic Troopers had taken up refuge in a ruined building and seem to have the goal of slowing down imperial efforts.
And upon being filled in on the situation, Corporal Haldeen and Specialist Athun arrived. I had Specialist Athun and the Specialist from the 2nd Company achieve an elevated position upon the collapse of Two Arch with the intent for the pair to act as overwatch. Myself and the rest of Leviathan headed towards the barricade where a roughly three meter gap was blown into it. Seeing as it was essentially a death wish to traverse through the gap as the Republic had a direct line of sight on said gap and were prepared, I decided to just wait-- wait on any more intel that could be provided by the pair of Specialists acting as overwatch.
As we waited, Corporal Haldeen took to aiding the injured and the others conducted a brief weapon's check. After another minute or two passed by, more pot shots being taken from either side, Specialist Athun informed us over communications that he has eyes on the recon party, informing us of what appeared to be an AT trooper too. With all the information gathered, I took to forming a plan. The plan involved Specialist Athun and his new found "partner" from the 2nd Company open fire on my mark while I throw smoke by the gap, covering it for the intent of allowing Leviathan to make a run. I had also instructed Corporal Haldeen to remain by the gap to utilize his marksman rifle best for when the fighting began as he'd have another angle on them.
With the plan set in stone, I let it begin, yelling "Mark!" over the communication line as I, at the same time, threw smoke by the gap, letting it cover it. Specialist Athun and the Specialist from the 2nd both opened fire almost immediately, seemingly taking down the AT trooper within an instant and another by said trooper, stopping their heavier weapons capabilities for now. Leviathan charged out, rushing across the gap, as Corporal Haldeen, once Leviathan was out of the line of fire, opened fire of his own, taking down more of their troopers.
As we rushed across, both Specialist Miriadas and Private Trisdane opened fire, successfully eliminating a trooper each. Though unfortunately, this seemed to have little effect as when each trooper fell, another seemed to take their place. This didn't stop us however, we kept pushing until we reached a small incline. The Assault Droid would was doing what it does best, killing. It managed to take down a trio of troopers if I recall correctly. Specialist Athun, Corporal Haldeen and the Specialist from the 2nd all used their marksman rifles and sniper rifle well, eliminating trooper after trooper, making the push easier.
However, as we drew closer and closer to the building, the sound of sniper fire, seemingly coming from the North East of our current position, was heard. I turn to see the sniper bolt reach its target, the Assault Droid. It was a clean shot to the droid's head and as a result, it was unfortunately destroyed. Specialist Miriadas and Private Trisdane both took down a multitude more of a troopers that attempted to exit the ruined building; Private Trisdane even utilizing her spare frag grenade thanks to her specialisation, which she trials for, and threw it into the building, blowing up the "rats" inside. Specialist Miriadas, using her Carbine, managed to take down an additional two more that exited the building before we were -all- forced to take cover.
The sniper fire seemed like it would be the end of us, but thankfully, Specialist Athun and the soldier from the 2nd took quick action as they began picking off the opposition's snipers. Spotting, then killing within quick succession of each other. This is where Corporal Mays arrived, as late as ever, via jump pack. Private Trisdane managed to get closer to the building, spotting five try to retreat, she managed to strike down two and threw another frag, causing two more to be flown off the cliff edge. Meanwhile, myself and Specialist Miriadas seemed to be the sniper's favourite. I managed to neutralize a pair of soldiers that seemed to try and get the drop on myself and Specialist Miriadas but the final sniper managed to land a hit to the Specialist's leg.
Corporal Haldeen pushed forwards, repositioning himself, aiming to try and get a view on the final sniper. He waited, waited and waited some more before opening fire, forcing the sniper to reposition themselves, to which it turned fatal for them as Specialist Athun and the soldier from the 2nd struck down the final sniper. The battle seemed to be ending. The ruined building seemed clear, all that was heard was a scream from the inside as the frag grenades damaged the stability of the building, causing a collapse.
Corporal Mays rushed after the final fleeing trooper via his jump pack, seemingly managing to make quick work of them as he stunned them and was in the process of bringing them back to us, alive. Activating Specialist Miriadas' adrenal stimulant, we both made the final ten or so meter push to the ruined home, using it as cover in the case of more snipers. With the fighting now seemingly over, Corporal Haldeen assisted Specialist Miriadas with her injury while Corporal Mays brought back the Republic Trooper.
The Republic Trooper seems to be no one of importance, a lowly specialist. But they can still posses information so we took them. We returned back to the imperial barricade, after giving them the much needed breathing room to get their job done as we beat back the Republic's scouting party, and returned to Mos Anek first, dropping off the captured soldier to the relevant personnel and then headed to Varath for a debriefing and to use the medical bay there per Corporal Haldeen's preference.
Injuries:
Specialist Miriadas took a sniper bolt to her leg armour. The armour seems to have mostly saved her from the damage but she will still need rest according to Corporal Haldeen. Though she will be back in action in no time.
Unsure whether or not to count it but the Assault Droid was lost, clean sniper shot to it's head.
Captures:
One Republic Trooper. They appear to be a low ranking male Specialist, unsure of what their specialisation is. They were delivered to the relevant personnel in Mos Anek.
Commendations:
Specialist Athun was vital in the success and over all survival of Leviathan and our goal. Without his overwatch, we could have never even of stepped a single foot out of the gap in the barricade without being riddled with bolts. He utilised his specialisation well, very well even. This serves as my written commendation to count towards his promotion to Corporal. I'd also add on that I'd say he qualifies for "The Specialist's Service Medal I" as well for his efforts... but that is not for me to decide.
