Report: Revolt
After the medal ceremony, under orders of Captain McCarthy a few of us were preparing for a mission to bring an end to a revolt. According to the reports, they were held up at a cave, and armed them selves.
The previously presence of Imperials at the location were nearly wiped out, and we were met with a Private that was the last survivor of this group. He reported that the occupants in the cave, had taken over, taken their weapons and entrenched them selves behind fortifications inside the cave, before he was shot in the back of the head by a Sniper round.
The Captain made me lead on this mission, and I started making a plan of attack.
The Captain, Specialist Neveil, Captain Zynn and Apprentice Joslae formed one group.
I took Private Ursh. I observed the situation first, looking for any potential flanking possibilities to get closer to the maw of the cave. I found a route and took it. Apprentice Joslae was making a distraction, and several shots were fired towards the cave position as Private Ursh and myself moved in to flank from the right.
Upon arrival at the right flank, I took out a Frag Grenade, and launched it towards the inner cave wall at an angle so it bounced towards the location of the fortification of these rebels. This was a success, however I noted through the silence bleeping from the road leading into the cave. I saw a mutilated body of a fellow Imperial Soldier, and all indications were that a mine field was placed in front of the caves main road.
I reported this over the Comlink and with the power of the Force, Apprentice Joslae took care of the mines, leaving a crater, but still hearing some beeping I ordered for the backtracking to my location via the same route I took as the safest method of approach.
I utilized two smoke grenades to cover our entry into the cave. One was thrown further in, the second closer to the entrance, covering our entry, and I gave the order to switch to Thermals. We met no resistance
.
We entered the cave, and it wasn't until we reached the near center we saw other rebels. I ordered Captain Zynn to move up to a higher vantage point with her rifle to take out the rebels who opened fire on the Apprentice. Specialist Neveil was to offer suppressive fire support to the Apprentice, and I asked the Private for a Frag Grenade. However, as I throw it, a flash grenade thrown towards the Apprentice was kicked back and exploded. Briefly disorientating the Squad.
After we got our bearings again, we continued to apply force, but we noticed they had women and children with them.
I gave the order to minimize their casualties as best as possible, as they could be re-educated and serve the Empire once more.
Then a voice called out, holding a Imperial Private hostage. It was a Republic soldier who is likely the culprit of this uprising. He held the Private at gunpoint, but tried protecting himself as well by using the Private as a shield.
I told Captain Zynn if she could spot a moment to take the shot to take it. I implored him that if he continued to resist, I would begin giving the order to take a life of one of the people in the cave, every time he refused to lay down his arms, trying to manipulate his Republic mindset against him.
The Apprentice, pulled the both of them from afar and sliced the Republic Soldiers neck, the Imperial Private was bleeding from the neck. I told Squad to round up the Civi's, some were rowdy and tried to fight back but they submitted in the end due to Captain Zynn's manipulation of their situation by offering safety.
The Private received trauma care, he will be fine and is now likely in a Kolto Tank.
I called for a MedEvac and Transport to escort the Civi's back to the Empire.
The Pilot who was moving these civilians back, should be met with disciplinary actions for wrongly addressing a superior in the field, whilst he is wearing the Imperial uniform, such lack of discipline can not go unpunished in the Empire.
In total, we had 30 Civi's packed into the shuttles, and we headed back to the Estate.
There were no casualties among the Squad, and mission was successful.
