RAKHGOUL REPORT

Species Name: Rakghoul
Designation: Non-sentient

Despite being a non-sentient creature; forged from Sith Alchemy to serve as a slave army - the threat of the Rakghoul cannot be undercut. Their presence on worlds such as Taris have caused chaos for Sith forces since their outbreak and means of combating them are rumoured and scarce in detail.

Transcribing the words of Neophyte Aregra, the following points have been cleared for distribution - known for their effectiveness in the heat of battle against these foes and could prove key in surviving on the planet’s surface.

Due to their primitive nature, Rakghouls possess one of the defining traits common to carnivorous predators - pack hunting. Finding a singular Rakghoul is a rare sight due to them typically sticking to the psychological flock number of four or more. Though, exceptions may vary and taking precautions to combat this are extremely advisable. If this is the case, trying to avoid engaging would be the best solution - to avoid drawing more out. That, or the being in question could be a more evolved beast.

Firstly, leaving the planetary base alone is ill advised, especially at distances expected to last a length period. Being spotted by even one can result in a swarm; they’re loud, obnoxious, beast-like, this will quickly leave you outnumbered and possibly surrounded. ‘Range is key’, meaning that attacks should go the moment you are spotted. Use the environment, anything in the imminent area could assist you. Rakghouls are known for their fondness of caves. General dark areas appeal to them so keeping an eye out for them when roaming, if not you could quickly find yourself in an ambush, or even worse completely surrounded by a swarm.

Having a higher ground ads to the advantage; mainly granting you a safer distance to strike at the beasts. If it's a possibility, or an option - take it, you may find yourself in a better situation with even more opportunities to fight, flee, or combat the enemies backward. Their primitive nature will prompt them to attack; not think, meaning if you think strategically you can outsmart and defeat them.

Establishing a path, or safer spot prior can also make combating them more effective. Especially if you’re forced to withdraw to a more advantageous position, or entirely. Neophyte Aregra used the following hypothetical situation to best describe her meaning: ‘be it one of the wreckages, a tall tree or the likes - altering the local surroundings could grant you wish a valuable window; especially when you have a horde on your back. Doing it to suit your prefered method is advisable, again, simply to ensure a better outcome.

Rakghouls with notable sentience are also extremely dangerous. They typically withhold a humanoid appearance as opposed to their primitive brethren.

This concludes this report. More may follow.

For the Empire.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
