The Sith Code: Nedhorroc´s interpretation

#1
((OOC: This version of Ned's interpretation of the code has been replaced by the one down below.))

Peace is a Lie, there is only Passion.
Peace is stagnation. With peace, comes decay. One needs a goal to succeed, otherwise, one will stagnate and decay. This is especially true in the Sith Order, as one always needs to be improving their skills or strengthening their powerbase.
This is all accomplished through the realization that passion is the drive which fuels us on our endeavors, whatever they may be.

Through Passion, I gain Strength.
As I said before, passion is the drive which fuels us. Through this passion, if properly applied and managed, we gain Strength, through beating our enemies or through other means. Passion is the way in which a Sith grows, which gives us opportunities for further progression. A prime example is lord Kalkoran when I arrived here at house Horuset, he was an apprentice. Now, through properly tempering his strength with passion, he is now a Lord and one of the most powerful lords in the Horuset powerbase.

Through Strength, I gain Power.
Strength gives us opportunities to increase power, be it political influence or mastery of the Force. It gives us the power to act on our own, to not have to be goaded along by the apprentices or lords, like we have to be now. This also grants us the opportunity to build a powerbase of our own, if we desire to do so like lord Kalkoran has done.

Through Power, I gain Victory.
Unless the victory is achieved by demonstrating that your power is superior, it is only an illusion. Take victory by defeating your enemies, pitting your powerbase against theirs, to the victor go the spoils.

Through Victory, my Chains are Broken.
The true meaning of the line "…my chains are broken" was a subject of argument among many Sith. According to Yuthura Ban, the chains represented a being's restrictions; not just a Sith but any being in the universe. The restrictions could be those placed upon a being by someone else, or restrictions that one placed upon oneself. The ultimate goal of any Sith was to free himself from such restrictions, but not in the simplistic meaning of just being able to do whatever he wanted.

The Force shall Free me.
The Force is our servant and our master. Our teacher and our companion. A weapon and a tool. Know it and you know the universe. Master it and you master the universe. Strive for perfection and the Force shall reward you.

A new version of Ned's interpretation would quietly have snuck into the archives, replacing the old version.

Accessing public file; downloading from ‘Nedhorroc; Acolyte’

Peace is a Lie, there is only Passion.
In the natural world, all is active; never stagnant, never at peace. The songbird that lets their song flow over the world seeks to gorge himself on a mate. The creatures in the undergrowth wish to feast upon their natural prey; all those weaker than themselves. The wild Tuk’ata of the Korriban sands wish to hunt those failures that dare cross their path unprepared. In short, the world is never at peace.
The instincts that drive these creatures to hunt, kill, and procreate among other things are powered by Passion. For lust, anger, and fear are all forms of passion. And passion is instinct.

Through Passion, I gain Strength.
Pure, unbridled Passion is strong in and of itself, but it is unfocused. Unfocused passion is short and furious, but it lacks the longevity to sustain a Sith.
To enhance the longevity, one must focus. Through the focusing your emotions - of your Passion - one gains Strength. Strength, unlike Passion, has the longevity to fuel a Sith.
Through focusing your Passion, you make it's flame burn brightest and longest. This Strength allows one to increase in adeptness for varying abilities, all of which require utmost understanding of the Sith Code.

Through Strength, I gain Power.
Strength, if utilized correctly, can transform into Power. This ‘power’ is ambiguous, although I myself think it power over yourself. The shedding of self-doubt. The shedding of weaknesses. Power is everything for a Sith. It is the cornerstone of reputation, of all you do. Reputation, in turn, is the cornerstone of everything. A reputation can make or break you. If your reputation is shattered, you show that you are weak. If such a thing happens, though, you can redeem yourself, akin to what the lord Cytharat did through dying on Makeb for the Imperial cause. From an exile Sith Lord and former apprentice to the traitor Darth Malgus, to glorious martyr who died to ensure an Imperial victory.

Through Power, I gain Victory.
Victory over oneself, over one’s enemies, or even over one’s friends, it does not matter. All that matters is that if there is a victory that can both fuel your reputation and conclude a conflict from which you have been able to grow. For only conflict causes one to grow.

Reputation is everything. This is something too many fail to realize; that failure can be fatal, and it must not become your end! I cannot stress this enough, for too many have failed and died to not upholding their reputation.
Eventually, Victory and Power become cornerstones of reputation, and such intangible concept as an image becomes an image of all-encompassing Power, and with Power, Victory.

Through Victory, my Chains are Broken.
Eventually, an image alone will be able to sustain your reputation, as we see in the image that is created of Dark Lords of the Sith as Darth Horuset or the former Emperor - Vitiate.
Through this singular image, one will be able to leave the restrictions and limits that apply to the normal Sith behind, and start over, as an avatar of the Dark Side, an exemplar of the Sith Order, and a paragon of Imperial virtue.
Once this state is attained, limits no longer apply; they are able to be shed like a cat sheds its hairs. True Power will be within your grasp, if you only reach out and take it. Too many leave the righteous path upon attaining this state, stagnating, decaying, and leaving Power to be grasped by those that succeed them.

The Force shall Free me.
Through the removal of mortal responsibilities and limits, one attains a higher playing field, no longer confined by lesser being or even the chains one places on themselves. This is a state few will ever reach, although those mighty Darths that seat on the Dark Council are very close, but not close enough.
The shedding of mortal responsibilities and the seeking of a higher playing field creates an everlasting cycle of striking when the iron is hot; constant tempering and reforging, a cycle aimed towards perfection.

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
