Natellia's contraptions

Introduction:

Before I came to the Sith, I spent several months alone on a ship. That ship required maintenance but I lacked any significant knowledge in engineering. The ship itself had a standard-issue mechanic droid on it that, while being completely immobile and itself in need of repairs, was able to teach me everything I needed to know to perform the maintenance that was needed to keep the ship afloat. This inadvertently caused playing around with technology to become a hobby of mine. The following file contains a set of contraptions that I made during my time in House Horuset. Information will include precise dimensions, materials used, method of assembly, acquisition of materials, intended use and potential secondary uses.

Name: Piece of shit, stop electrocuting me!
Version: 1.0
Length: 23.6 cm - 9.3 inches
Width: 17.2 cm - 6.8 inches
Height: 7.5 cm - 3.0 inches
Volume: 3044 cm[sup]3[/sup]

Description and uses:
The box looks very crudely made. It consists of poorly welded together pieces of scrap metal. At the top of the box, there’s a large twistable knob that one can turn both clockwise and counter-clockwise. At the lower section of the top plate is a small hatch with rusted hinges. Opening the hatch would reveal the small container where the power cell is situated. As the container is not sectioned off, one can also see the complete inner structure of the contraption. There would be no insulation other than the insulation that was already on the wires.

If utilized correctly, the contraption will be able to power up minor electrical systems such as door panels and computer consoles. Upon electrocuting myself several times with the exposed wires, I realized that with how volatile it was it could also be used as a torturing device. To that end I took two pieces of scrap metal and sharpened them. If I connected the wires to the sharpened pieces of metal and inserted them into an individual, a closed circuit would form and painful electric currents would run through the individual’s body. In the standard configuration, the powercell would put out far too much energy. To give the device some flexibility, I added five different wire routes from the switch. These routes would each have a varying amount of resistors so to provide me with the ability to regulate the energy the cell puts out.

Materials:

- Various pieces of scrap metal, most notably iron.
- A length of solid-core, silicon-insulated copper wires (12 gauge, 20 amps)
- 140 mAh 300 V power cell
- Dirty tin solder
- 10 fixed resistors
- Plastic knob
- Rusted hinges

Acquisition of materials:
All of the materials listed above were procured during a trial that took place on Ilum. I took the power cell from an old projector and removed the wiring and scrap metal from a downed shuttle. I hid the items upon the trial’s conclusion and have worked on the contraption in secret for months.
Notes:
It is not a well-made contraption by any means. The box is not secure or well-made, the battery is unreliable and volatile, the wirings are old and rusted and the entire thing itself is dangerous because there is little to no electrical insulation for the internal components. I have electrocuted myself a great many times. In its current state, it is not fit for prolonged use. If I don’t get my hands on the right materials, I will likely abandon this project.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
