Lack of Vision - Part I

#1
"Direct action is not always the best way. It is a far greater victory to make another see through your eyes than to close theirs forever." - Darth Traya

“Because you believe my vision to be impaired, you seem to underestimate me. You see, my Lord- I can see far more than most deem possible. Ironic, is it not?” - Lord Jadie Priaa

LACK OF VISION - Part I

There were two, a man and a woman. Both stood before an eroded doorway made of Sandstone, both allowed their gaze to linger into the contents of it unknowingly. “We have arrived.” The darkened voice of the male echoed throughout the barren ruins of this hostile world.

“Pray, apprentice- That we are not late.” He allowed a slender hand upwards to brush across their pointed chin as they hummed to themselves in amusement.

“I can sense a great darkness within, master… Is it wise for us to linger?” The female apprentices retorted in a softened yet hesitant manner.

“Why of-course apprentice… Please, after you.” The man gestured onward towards the door as he awaited their small apprentice to venture first into the unknowing darkness, to which they did.

Her breaths were slow, yet filled with fear as she continued into the tomb. The room was so dark, the last remaining light fading after only so few meters.

“I can’t see anything, master. It’s too dark.” She hesitated once more as she continued, yet there was no reply from her master. Only moments after the entirety of where she stood was shrouded in darkness. The Echani shuddered and held either shoulders as she searched desperately around for any signs of light.

“Master?” She shouted now in a heavier tonnage. “Where are you?” She sounded desperate, her breaths would become more intense with each passing second. The air was thin, and even colder than she could imagine.

“Darkness surrounds you, apprentice. Do you fear it? You should...” He lingered upon his last words as he allowed an echoing laughter to surround the young Echani.

“What is this?” She retorted, yet there was once again silence. The only sound was the dying echo of her voice as it entered what seemed to be eternity of darkness surrounding her. Though she continued to walk, on and on she went as she searched for the slightest glimpse of light, or a sign of some kind.

Not moments after the Echani would stumble across a stairway, to which she fell upon with a thud and a grunt. “Mhph!”

She took a moment to herself as she felt around. “What is he doing?” She quietly stated to herself before she started to climb the stairway on all fours, making sure that she had no possible way to trip.

Each step was managed with a sense of perfection and was thoroughly done. Though eventually she got to what she thought was the top, but how could she know?

The Echani panted before laying down on her back for a moment. “I’m going to die here.” She spurted before rolling off her back and standing back onto her own two feet, to which they proceeded.

Hours past as Jadie wandered lost around the contents of the tomb, the hallways began to grow more narrow with each passing moment. Yet nothing was clear in her path, for now. Her travels were eventually met with a familiar hue of a candle's light burning in the center of what seemed to be a ritualistic ground for the Sith of old.

“Jadie.” The male once again appeared to linger around the young Echani. Yet, he would not be in view as of the moment.

At this moment Jadie sensed a disturbance in her surroundings, and she would bring her hand to her hip, completely oblivious to the fact that she did not have her saber for this entire ordeal. Without a chance to even react, Jadie would be struck by a blinding light, of which caused her to yell out in her utmost pain. The Echani would cover her eyes with both hands as she held them in pain. “Arghhhh!”

“Your lack of vision has always been clear to me, apprentice… Therefore, I will compensate for it. If you will not learn, then I will make you learn.” The echoing voice disappeared after mere moment of it’s arrival.

Jadie would in her agonizing pain begin to crawl to where she sensed the heat of the candles. “My eyes... What have you done?!” Yet, nothing was heard in return. “I will kill you!” She then yelled out as her pain began to cloud her mind, all she felt now was pain, of which was converted to her rage.

“Not yet, apprentice. Now, now you will suffer.” The man extended his hands towards the girl, lifting her and throwing her into the furthest wall as if she were a rag doll. “I’ve been looking forward to this.” He snickered coldly under his breath before he slammed her downwards to the floor beneath the wall.

Dust blew over the surrounding area as she hit the floor with an audible grunt of her discomfort. This was repeated over and over again until eventually Jadie was left limp on the cold and hard floor. It would not be long before she began to push herself up onto her hands and knees, panting more than before.

Jadie was indeed fueled by her rage and her pain, so much so that the aura of it stenches throughout the entirety of the room that the pair remained within. The attire would be ripped, accompanied by the leaking of blood of which seeped throughout her wounds.

Jadie’s hair would have been in it’s bobbled state that would now show numerous loosened strands in every direction. All the perfection would have been lost to some-one whom looked like they had fought a mighty battle. Though this was not the case.

“You are resilient, apprentice.” The male said coldly, yet showed a hint of his surprise to the apprentices resolve. “That is why I will allow you to make amends to your ignorance. You will remain here, and you will return to me when you have found your vision.” He’d snarl to himself, though his hands clasped tenderly behind his back. His posture returned to that of which was straightened. “ If you die, then.. You are no longer useful to me.”

The darkened figure left without any further to say, or any further action to perform. Jadie herself would begin to crawl slowly in her battered state to where the heat emitted from. Her cold breath began to slowly dissolve in it’s intensity.
“Through passion, I gain strength…”

The Echani now sat herself in what seemed to be a meditative position. Her hands would reach her wrist, to which she’d rip away some of the materials of what it was made from. They would calmly and confidently begin to wrap it around her eyes, in order to stop the bleeding and to protect what tissue may yet be left behind it.

“Now, I enter the void. There I must find the answers…” She stated shakily, though she knew where she had to go. Her breathing slowed, her mind opened up to the possibilities of the force. With it, came what she referred to as the void.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
