Concept Proposal: Black-wing Squadron

Introduction:
The standard Imperial Trooper is the backbone of the Imperial Army, disciplined, well trained and capable. When deployed in number and with mechanical aid they are a devastating force, capable of changing the fate of any planet that their armoured boots tread upon. However, the standard Imperial Trooper does have its drawbacks - especially when considered for more specialised deployments and combat alongside Sith. The standard Imperial Trooper lacks variety, their strength comes from numbers and fine tactics not flexibility. The Imperial System has taken account of this when Leviathan Squad was formed. The Squad is designed to be varied, made up of soldiers who highly specialise in certain fields: Sniper, Medic, Engineer and so forth. This is Leviathan's strength, what has lead to their success in recent times. However, past deployments have highlighted weaknesses that permeate even now. Dubrillion, and other more recent deployments, highlighted that Leviathan Squad's soldiers lack mobility when deployed alongside Sith. Yes, they can deploy with mechanised support to compensate but that is not always an option. The average Sith is capable of deploying from heights that Imperials cannot, through the force they can move and react faster than any Imperial could hope to. To compensate for this, I would propose a consideration to remodel Leviathan Squad. Making it so that every individual soldier is highly mobile and highly reactive.

The Imperial Jump-Trooper:
The Imperial Jump-Trooper is, currently, an Advanced Specialisation available to soldiers of Leviathan Squad once they make it to Sergeant - although they can begin training at the rank of Corporal. A Jump-Trooper is a highly versatile, highly mobile unit - but without a squad to support them they are limited. A lone Jump-Trooper cannot use their equipment to its fullest capacity as they would be abandoning their squad and leaving them behind. On Dubrillion, we saw how devastating a dedicated squad of Jump-Troopers could be, even without the aid of force sensitives, they were capable of rapid deployment and re-deployment - able to break Imperial and Sith lines with powerful hit and run tactics. A Squad of dedicated Imperial Jump-Troopers, specialised for various purposes, could help counter this threat and be a true asset on the battlefield.

Black-Wing Squadron:
Black-Wing Squadron would address both of these issues. By dissolving the Advanced Specialisation of Jump-Trooper and equipping each soldier of the Squadron with a jump-pack, Black-Wing Squadron would become a highly mobile, highly flexible and highly independent unit capable of keeping up with Sith in the field and acting independently in vital hit and run or sabotage missions. Each soldier would be equipped with a jump or jetpack and then follow one of the standard Specialisation routes. A medic who can deploy across the battlefield in moments, a sniper or demolitions expert who can access any vantage point and weakness, a grenadier who can easily flank vehicles to access weak spots, CQCs who can be the first to land into an enemy formation and even heavy units who could rapidly deploy to hold choke-points or deal devastating flanking assaults. With Black-Wing Squadron House Horuset would finally have an Imperial unit truly capable of assisting and complimenting their Sith forces in the field, able to drop into combat from shuttles at height and move at frightening speed across the battlefield. No longer would the Sith be forced to decide between abandoning their Imperial compliment to move ahead or hold back to prevent casualties - they would be able to advance at their fullest, knowing there are highly skilled Imperials to cover their flanks and rear.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
