FINAL MISSION REPORT
INVESTIGATION: Corruption and missing supplies from the HH Warehouse

The following is the final report detailing the events and results of the investigation regarding the missing supplies from the Horuset Warehouse at the outskirts of Dromund Kaas. The report will be split into two distinct parts, with the initial one being a summary of the events up until the recovery of the missing supplies, and uncovering the truth behind the events.

PART 1:
After the initial briefing, I travelled to the Horuset Warehouse within the outskirts of Dromund Kaas. There, I was greeted by Lieutenant Zachary Julianos Warren, the security officer of the facility. I briefly stated to him the purpose of the suddenly announced inspection, that being to uncover more information concerning the missing supplies from the warehouse, and his reaction was that of being surprised. I was given access to the security office, and made my way there before I would check the warehouse itself.
Inside the security office the young Ensign was far more cooperative, and after instructing him we uncovered that there was tampering with the logs and shipment manifestos: someone with access modified them and it was clear that rows upon rows of crates of raw building materials, medical items, military food rations were vanishing periodically. Then, the Ensign reported that the only person who could possibly tamper with these logs was Lt. Warren himself. It was then that I decided to confront the Lt, however he vanished, knowing that his cover was now blown. I searched the warehouse and it seemed that during the brief time when I was in the security office, the Lt. managed to run off with an entire row of crates, which contained, like before, building materials, medical supplies, food rations and finally a single crate filled with artifacts. Then, the man contacted me via my personal frequency, threatening my safety if I decided to continue the investigation. It was clear that within our own powerbase, the disgusting disease named “corruption” had taken root, and the Lt. was involved directly into this. Records displayed that early since his transfer he had been stealing from the warehouse.
Soon after these events and having informed Captain Korren of the situation, I met with him and several of his men in order to formulate a plan of action. Given their access to resources and increased availability of manpower, I concluded that their role would be that of researching information and provide me with the necessary specialists when such efforts would be needed. The following is the file of Lt. Warren which was supplied to me by the imperials:

Several theories were drawn from this file, along with many questions which were more in number than the answers. Despite this, we concluded that given the importance and value of the supplies, as well as the indicators that Lt. Warren wanted to have his financial activities be untraceable, coupled with the fact that he had no residence, it was apparent that a trail of credits would be the route to follow. Thus, I was informed that Lt. Warren last came into contact with Staff Sergeant Velek Gildraam, which was employed within the Sith Citadel, working in the HR Department, responsible for the payrolls. Thus, it was clear what the next course of action entailed. Overnight, I managed to acquire a few more information on the Staff Sgt, as per my notes:
  • Staff Sergeant Velek Gildraam works for Imperial HR at the Sith Citadel.
  • He was responsible for the paychecks of Lt. Warren during his time as security officer in the Citadel.
  • He was the last one to contact Warren before he resigned his job.
  • He works every day in the right wing of the citadel.

The following day, myself and (back then) acolyte Zhaixe made our way to the Sith Citadel, and spoke directly to mr. Gildraam. Our approach was somewhat of a classic attempt, as I used polite, subtle yet direct threats in order to get my point across and convince the man to speak in private, acolyte Zhaixe attempt to be the voice of reason, emphasizing that mr. Gildraam’s cooperation would be beneficial for both us and himself. Thus, we were granted a brief private audience, and it was then that we explained who we are, of our official investigation and that we desired to uncover more information on Lt. Warren. What we were told provided us with with many answers, as it can be reflected in my notes:
  • Warren had resigned after the bombing done by Zakuul, due to losing his squad;
  • Because of these events, the man was very affected emotionally;
  • He spoke last to Gildraam, and resigned, explaining that he will live out within the slums of Kaas city;
  • Immediately after that, he withdrew his pension, which was an impressive sum of credits;
  • Such an action was also considered very out-of-character, however it once more indicated to us that Lt. Warren wanted his financial activities to be untraceable;
  • In the 2 months after resignment, he had no recorded residence;
  • Warren was a known alien sympathizer -> gave speeches often to his colleagues during breaks while working in the Citadel;

From there, our lead would be to investigate the slums area. Myself, acolyte Zhaixe and Specialist Hectio went there undercover. The information which we had uncovered was as follows:
  • after investigating the slums area, it appears the ones located there have at their disposal food and rations which are confirmed to be military food rations;
  • from all sources, it appears that a single person periodically brings the poor folk there these supplies, under the guise of the "Imperial Relief Aid";
  • the shipment are periodic and on time, brought via speeder by the same individual;
  • some of the larger constructions there, such as the local pub, are made from sturdy, quality materials, while the majority of the hovels are not, and are constructed from scrap.

In conclusion, it appeared at that time that either Lt. Warren or someone which collaborated with him was using the stolen supplies from the Horuset warehouse in order to aid the local poor populace from the slums area at the edges of Dromund Kaas city. We also found out that the next shipment was to follow within the next 2 standard cycles, and thus we concluded that we would attempt an ambush.
However, during the planning stages, after the considerations of specialist Hectio and acolyte Zhaixe, I decided that we would prepare for two possible outcomes. We would have a tracker prepared, which would be attached to the vehicle used. We would use subtility, and infiltrate, acting as if being part of the crowd, and we would have speeders prepared in case we would decide to follow the vehicle back to it’s point of origin. The other course of action would be a direct apprehension of the individual who would be bringing in the supplies, however there would be many risks concerning such a course of action, thus it was, in my opinion, only a last resort.
We arrived early in the morning of the day where our information said that the new shipment would arrive. The team was comprised of myself, acolyte Zhaixe, Specialist Hectio and Private Caenin. Once we arrived, a large mass of the dwellers were all gathered up in the central area of the slums, waiting for the shipment. This was when I decided that our course of action would be simply to apply the tracker onto the vehicle, and then pursue it. As we all spread out to cover the important areas, Specialist Hectio was the one which approached the incoming speeder which had brought goods. However, no presence of any life sign was felt on board, and the cockpit was enclosed, with the windows blackened. This indicated that the Lt was taking all the necessary precautions in order to ensure his operation goes as he had planned.
The Specialist approached the vehicle and once inside, he reported back that a droid was piloting the vehicle, and before we had a moment to decide we were being shot at. An explosion from the inside of the speeder was which also marked this, and moments later, the Specialist had lost his cybernetic arm. Private Caenin was the one closest to our attacker, and engaged him. Myself and acolyte Zhaixe quickly went to pursue the attacked, who was using a sort of jetpack, and after a brief pursuit, due to the combined efforts of all four of us, we had captured our attacker. Once disabled and unmasked, we saw that it was our fugitive Lt Warren. He was taken into custody and offered medical assistance just enough to stabilize his condition. The next day he was transferred for interrogation, and after some persuasion, we were given the location to his camp, as well as leads which lead us to believe that his accomplices) were still active.

PART 2:

Myself and (then) Apprentice Zhaixe travelled towards the location which our lead pointed to via shuttle. As we arrived, it was not far from the slums outskirts of Dromund Kaas. The path was littered with marks which were indicators of footprints as well as, every now and then, imprints in the ground of crates being laid around. Thus, we simply followed the trail as it lead deeper into the jungle.
Eventually we had arrived at a camp, which was not far away from our starting point. We both approached it with caution, given the fact that there were indicators of it being active, used, however we didn’t sense any signs of life. We managed to also see a few of the crates which at first glance confirmed our initial suspicions, and verified the claims made by the captured Lt. Warren, while interrogated. We approached and stopped just before entering the camp, as both myself and apprentice Zhaixe felt a slit brush within the force, however nothing was in sight, up until we were near the middle of the camp.
There, inside the main tent, we encountered a Jedi. Human, male, injuries were present on first glance upon his abdomen and from what we could tell, he was trying to heal himself.Our fight would ensue quickly after, despite the human’s efforts to try and talk their way out from it. I focused upon keeping him busy, and challenged him in saber combat however his technical skill was superior, his wounds were the advantage I used in order to force him to not remain static. Thus, his wounds ruptured, and this made his defense drop quickly. However, whilst this went on, Apprentice Zhaixe captured what were two of the inhabitants in the camp, the child and the elder man which turned out to be the child’s father, and the Jedi reacted immediately, begging for mercy.
It was then when I seized this opportunity. I immediately demanded the Jedi to disarm himself, and he complied. Once his weapon was secured, and he had been under my supervision, I began to ask him questions. I’ve uncovered that he had a long connection of friendship with Lt. Warren, and that the way they captured the supplies was simple intimidation of the men which transported them. However, due to his injuries, the man fainted and it was then when I asked Zhaixe to try and stabilize him whilst I continued to ask the child more questions. By now, we knew that Warren provided the routes, and the Jedi was the one doing the actual stealing, however their goal was the same, to provide aid for the slum dwellers.
The child complied immediately, it didn’t need much effort given his young age. I had learned from the Jedi that his name is Marcell, so I began to speak in a confiding manner, whilst reminding the youngling that his life relies fully at my fingertips, which it literally did. The child told me of the location of the other supplies, as well as the missing crate filled with relics. Meanwhile, Zhaixe notified me that it is almost impossible to stabilize the man, given his wounds, and that he was fading fast. So given that we had already accomplished our goals, I had decided to take all three of them as prisoners, and called in for transport.
Yet, underwhelmingly, the Jedi died before the transport arrived, quite a pity as I had hoped for adding him to the collection of prisoners. I had instructed the imperials which had arrived via shuttle to collect all the crates which were rightfully ours, and the one with artifacts was loaded into the shuttle by Zhaixe and myself. The other two, the youngling Marcell and his father, I had instructed the imperials to shackle them and that they will had their use as slaves, or something which you would’ve decided Kirs.
Thus, I conclude my report, Kirs. May the Force serve your will.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
