I write to you with grave news, and would not have done so had I not the need. After all, the business of the Sith is of little concern to me and I have no doubt my little sister has little interest in the daily comings and goings of Imperial Logistics - afterall, you never were one for paperwork outside of your studies.
It has come to my attention that in the late hours of yesterday, approximately 20:00 hours Alderaanian time, there was an attack on House Dista's holdings. Three ships collectively drove themselves in to Aldera, the Vinyard and the Mountainside retreat with no warning and no response from their crews. Had it just been the Aldera estate, I would have no cause to write, for you likely would have found out about an incident on Alderaan in your own time. Yet the other locations, and the synchronicity of the strikes suggest that this was a targeted attack on our household.
As your elder sister, it is my solemn duty to confirm the deaths of cousin Drayhiun and our aunt Krenya, amongst others. Initial reports have not yet confirmed the full tally of our household dead, but the injured - including myself, are numerous. On a positive note, those in the lower quarters and storages were not harmed, nor was the lifewine.
A full inquiry is being launched. We will find those responsible, and we will respond accordingly. Cousin Karvi and Andariel have already been dispatched at Lord and Lady Dista's behest to aid in the recovery and investigation.
I understand you cannot attend the funerals due to your position within the Empire - I have made arrangements for them to be filmed and sent to you. It is the least that can be done in this worrisome time.
