Jadie - Life of the Void

#1
Chapter 1 - Kyber in the Rough

"People often grow up with a different past, most within the Sith grow with trauma, utilizing it as emotion for the fuel that lights their fire. Some are unlucky in comparison to others, and some are just fortunate enough to live without that trauma. But often, those who do are shunned upon. For they cannot truly wield the same amount of rage or power, right?"
"I had a perfect childhood. No complaints, no regrets. I grew up with a healthy diet, a loving father and a loving mother. I was provided with education beyond any alien of our time. One could even say that I was spoiled with goods that I did not deserve. After-all, I grew up like most Imperial citizen on Dromund Kaas. Raised by an Imperial family, one wielding high regards apparently. But I did not know that then, to me they were just family."
"I am an alien, an Echani- beautiful, smart and courageous. Ambitious and inspired by others. But I am also an outsider to the realm of the Sith. I did not live in luxury, or have all this for free, there was always a price. There is always a price."

The room was lit in a hue of blue and elements of white in several corners of the room, a table resided in the center by a window overlooking a grand city of the Empire. There, a family sat around that table upon luxurious red and silver furniture. The back of the chairs were curved upon the top, revealing the lower back of those whom sat upon them. The chair itself when sat on had a padded cushion to where the wielder was comfortable.

The family sat straight with a knife and a form in each hand. It was customary for the Imperials to hold the knife in the left hand, and the form in their right. Unusual perhaps to some, but there was a reason of tradition behind each mannerism. "Are you going to eat?" Spurted a calm Imperial male, their accent smooth and perhaps soothing to those listening beyond. Their slender finger brushing over their pointed chin as they quirked a furry dark right brow.  "Leave her be, love. She's had a hard week at the academy I heard." Replied a female, with a similar accent, though not quite as smooth- but sharper. Their left hand brushing tenderly over the right of the male sat beside her.

A girl who sat opposite pushed herself and the chair away from the table- a heavy metallic yelp now emitting around the contents of the room, she spoke in a higher pitched though elegant accent in response to the pair before her; "I am not hungry." The female insisted whilst brushing a right hand over her face to remove a pearly lock of hair and place it back to the appropriate placement. She exhaled deeply in a sort of sigh as she looked across the table with an equally pearly gaze. "My apologies for my lack of consumption. I... I'm just tired." She swiftly replied, perhaps too swiftly.

Another exhale emitted from across the table, though this one seemed quite frustrated in its immediate and forced manner; "You're growing rather rude, Miss Priaa. We have talked about this time and again, yet- It remains so. Now, you will sit down at my command and you will await until I give the order for you to leave your station. Am I understood?" The man spurted strictly afterwards- though in his tint of natural Imperial etiquette, it was quite clear that he was of a militaristic nature.

The pale girl from the across the table slid her chair back into its former place and offered a nod of acceptance in retaliation to the command of the male; "I am truly sorry, father. It won't happen again." She said softly. "There is a time and a place for your commands, my love. Please- Give the poor girl a break." The sharper female voice pleaded. From there, it was a complete silence as the pair of Imperials continued to consume their foods, whilst the smaller and much paler figure remained still, completely still.

The night passed and a new day began on Dromund Kaas. Though, the weather remained as it always was. Heavy rains and thunderous storms, of which could keep up any child within the compounds of its atmosphere. As the day began as new, so did everyone upon the surface of the dreaded planet. One in particular dressed in accordance to the academy rules, a tight yet formal Imperial uniform, but without any plaques of note. Simple, yet in customs to the rules of the Academy.

"You look sharp as usual." A younger Imperial stated with such a confidence, almost sounding a bit chirpy in their approach. "You're too kind, sir." Replied the young Echani, but almost sounded a bit hesitant in doing so. "Please- Jadie. Call me Carter. I out-rank you only in experience of the academy, but we remain in the same lessons." The younger Imperial tipped their cap slightly to the Echani, wielding also a carefully placed perking of his lips in order to form a smile. He beckoned the smaller humanoid on-wards towards the entrance of their section of the academy. Of-course, she followed without hesitation whilst carrying a satchel over her left shoulder, hunched only slightly due to its awkwardness.

The stage was now set for a fully booked classroom of twenty or so students, all sat in rows of six. Each row had the same pattern of female, male, female and so on. No two genders sat beside, behind or in front of one another. Jadie sat at the very back, and to the very right of the classroom. She was younger than the others, but she emitted a glow much more mesmerizing than the rest too. So much so that she stood out like a Kyber cystal in the rough, a very easy target.

"Priaa!" Spurted out a pig-headed man of an Imperial, whom could only just fasten a belt around their gut. They went by the name of Boston. "You best listen to this carefully. I am no mood for one of your daydreaming episodes. You of-course remember what happened last time?" He snorted out a little chuckle as his left index hands finger and thumb reached to brush over his perfectly trimmed figures that sat upon his upper lip. "Yes sir!" She shouted proudly and confidently, her back straightened entirely as she stared directly towards the back of the head of Carter, who sat directly in front of her. "We'll see." He replied with a hint of displeasure, before turning around to the board.

"Today's lesson is about the Imperial Navy, once again. This will be a recap of what you have all learnt. I will ask a series of questions, and if you cannot answer me correctly- You will have -severe- consequences." He tapped the board with a metallic stick, one used to point out certain words, phrases or locations on the board. Boston rambled on about numerous topics that were given previously, asking numerous different students in the class, who were all on top of their game of knowledge. None failed to answer, but Jadie set her gaze outside of the window- overlooking the scenery that was provided by Dromund Kaas. She pondered thoughtfully for some time as the lesson continued.

Jadie stared at a certain point of the scenery, perhaps thinking what life could be outside this metallic cage that she sat in. She had always wanted to go on explorations beyond the limits of Dromund Kaas, but was always stuck in this feeling of servitude. Though, her dreams began to be short lived as Boston barked at her direction; "Jadie! I asked you a question!" He folded his arms as he remained staring at the young Echani, as did the rest of the class as they chewed their lips. Some even mused at the very thought of what punishment could be mustered by Boston himself.

The Echani turned slowly to look at the tutor with the same blank expression as per usual. She took a long inhale through her nose before exhaling through her mouth. She stared analyzing and assessing for but a moment, though she retorted with; "The Terminus can be a destroyer, or patrolling classed vessel of which in estimated terms reached the length of precisely five-hundred meters. It can fit approximately eight hundred people in its entirety, if you include excursions to opposing locations. Five hundred if you include just the crew. It can be mounted with a series of weaponry, dependent on the manufacturer but all the same. Quite a vessel for combat orientated missions." She ended at that, not one of her words were rushed, but all were calculated accordingly.

The class at this point went in complete silence, but Boston suddenly burst into a rant of his own rage; "Get out of my class you little runt. How -dare- you day-dream in my class!" He pointed directly towards the door which sat to his left. The students looked at each-other for a brief second before looking straight forwards. It was unclear if the students were simply overwhelmed by the sheer luck of Jadie's question, or the rage from Boston. But, without delay Jadie slowly made her way to the front of the class and then out of the door. "You all sit down and shut up while I deal with this alien filth." Boston left immediately afterwards, to which they all knew what followed shortly afterwards.

Another table would be directly at the center of a much brighter room, it filled with noises from each corner. Though, around that table would be many more tables of which many more humanoids sat around, casually speaking to one another. In the central table sat a lonely figure, her face bruised and split at certain areas. A girl sat completely still and in thought as she stared in complete neutrality at the contents of her food, which came on a metal tray. The tray had many sections upon it, with numerous different foods. Vegetables, meats and sweets, all compiled onto one singular tray. "Oi, hag! Boston sure did an improvement on your face!" One Imperial shouted from the right side of the female, though on another table. Another shouted; "A shame they didn't throw you off the peer!" Before they all began to chuckle and laugh in their utmost amusement.

"Don't listen to them, Jadie." Said a familiar voice, who decided to sit next to the lonely Echani. At that point, the Imperials would stop laughing and turn away to their lunched. "They're just ignorant." He tried to comfort the girl, but she responded with the same softness as she had always spoke with; "Thank you for your concern, sir. I will be quite fine." She raised a hand to her face, again brushing a hair of which fell out of place. She neither smiled nor even looked at the Imperial who sat next to her, who gave his attention to her. Yet he insisted to stay anyway, as he began to speak as if nothing had occurred; "How did you know about the Terminus? We haven't even learnt that yet. Or at-least, I haven't." He spoke inquisitively, his voice baring curiosity at its fullest. "I read it some-where." She said bluntly, though she pushed the tray away from her and stood up from the seating arrangement that she had placed herself in. "Where are you going?" He said now in a concerned manner. "Class, sir." She offered a formal salute before marching herself off out of the room without a second thought, or even a glance backwards. Carter rubbed his head as he grunted, now pushing the cap from its placement. "Uch." He spurted outwards in a defeated manner, though he stayed where he was as he contemplated for a few moments. "I don't understand that girl." He mumbled under his breath, now shaking his head.

Jadie would walk lonely down the corridor of the academy until reaching the point of where she could go outside. Her hands would clasp tenderly onto her lap as she overlooked the view of Dromund Kaas once more. She would look again into her dreams of exploration with a slight frown, perhaps coming to terms with her reality. A cold breath escaped her lips as she sighed in her own defeated way. Her pearly gaze set downwards to the floor and at her feet, of which a puddle formed around. The cold and heavy rain would hammer down around her, the drops finding their way to her own Imperial cap, to which they danced off of it and landed around her small form. "Perhaps." She spurted outwards to herself. "Perhaps someday."

The Echani straightened her posture once more and brushed down her uniform carefully to rid of any deformities, before turning to make her way back inside- Though as she did so, a pair of Imperial officers approached her followed by an escort of two armed militants. "Miss, Priaa?" A man spurted out in a much sharpened tone than any other Imperial she had met, though Imperial in their accent none the less. Jadie, however saluted as best and as straightened as she could. "Yes, sir?" She said hesitantly once again as she stared directly to the one whom addressed her. "My name is Captain Olwen. I have some questions for you. Please- Come with us." The man gestured on-wards between himself and his escort. Jadie blinked and looked past the Officer with a sort of fear overcoming her. Her breaths became sharpened and her form tensed greatly as she walked forwards throughout the gap provided. It was now her who was being escorted.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
