Urtac Mezo is a Rodian merchant and the leader of a small cooperative of merchants who have blacklisted, on Mezo's encouragement, The Empire from all trading negotiations in order to focus entirely on The Republic. Although the majority of the Cooperative's trading is situated deep within The Republic and they would be unlikely to trade with The Empire under any circumstance, Mezo's demise would create a power vacuum that would disrupt Republic trade in the Northern Territories region.
