[Normal] The Ancient Art of Alchemy

#1
Spoiler: OOC Note
This is an excerpt from an ancient tome belonging to a long-dead Sith Lord, rediscovered during the Reclamation of Korriban. This information has been with the Horuset family for years now, but only with the recent move to the family stronghold has it become available in the Alchemical Archives.

What follows below is an excerpt from the alchemical tome and journal of an unknown Sith Lord, dated to roughly 1,600 BTC. The tome was found on Korriban after reclamation, much of it was destroyed including the name of the author.

Sith Alchemy. A wonderful art form capable ot twisting life and matter with careful applications of the Dark Side.
I have earlier referred to Sithspawn creations such as War Hydra and Tuk'ata, but these creatures are certainly not natural. They were bred and manipulated to drastically and physically change a creature into a mighty creation of war. Legends and myth say the greatest of the Masters was Sorzus Syn, in fact, much of this account is based off her magnificent work.
The Dark Lord Syn came to the Sith people after alchemy had developed over the centuries, she was able to nearly perfect it through a mastery of the force and access to all the alchemical knowledge that came before her. How envious I am, simply thinking of the wealth of knowledge in those ancient libraries.
In theory, Sith alchemy is applied to both the living and the nonliving, each being a very distinct area of study with its own unique complications. I have always started my apprentices with nonliving alchemy, they seem to have a mildly easier time with it. I believe nonliving alchemy to be simpler in practice because there is no resistance from living cells, commonly named the Theory of Natural Resistance. I will delve into that further in later chapters.
Nonliving alchemy is the basis in which we merge science and magick into the creation of amulets and enchanted weapons.

For instance take, my prized Aximand Amulet; a work of art, if I do say so myself, that is fully capable of keeping me safe at any social occasion. I discovered the poisons often have a specific aura about them, and so this amulet is honed onto that aura and will vibrate whenever one is near. It has so far worked on seventeen occasions!
But of course, I now know why you are reading my work, it is, of course, living alchemy. Naturally, it is what attracts the most aspirants, but it also claims the most lives. Heed my words when I say that living alchemy should be undertaken by experienced sith, for it is likely to destroy you in any number of terrible fates. Of course, living alchemy is capable of recasting the shape of natural beings over and over again, but it will recast you as well. In a more terrible form. If you take just one thing from these accounts, let it be that living alchemy will not serve you, it will destroy you.
But let is not end on a sour note, for while alchemy is a science there is naturally an element of mysticism to--- [entry terminates after this point]

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
