Mission Report: Arrest and Interrogation
![[Image: IT1XgHx.png]](https://i.imgur.com/IT1XgHx.png)
A small holorecording would play once the file was downloaded. The voice of Harridax Geskar would play across the recording, somewhat haughty and rehearsed. It was very clearly a recording made for multiple uses.
" Major Koren, Captain McCarthy, Lieutenant Vareniu. Listed below is my report of the recent occurrence for you to look over at your own leisure. The account is from my own perspective of events, with me writing the report being requested by Sergeant Neilo after my pivotal role in the affair."
And as soon as it had started, the brief recording was done. Following, the file would go into detail of the titled report.
Stage 1 - The Arrest:
As per the orders of Lieutenant Vareniu, myself and three others and the LT herself moved onto Korriban to make the arrest of one Acolyte Zikarn, after it had been orderd by the LT under suspicion of the Acolyte of having a stash of Republic weaponry hidden away due to it being reported that the Acolyte was asking for in-depth knowledge of Republic weaponry.
The arrest itself progressed smoothly, with our arrival at the fighting pit on Korriban being met by an ambivalent crowd who did not stop us in our attempts. Moving forward, I took point on the arrest after the order was given by the LT and spoke with the Acolyte to convince them to come in quietly. After some words, the Acolyte handed over their training blade without fuss directly to myself while others of the squad screened off the other Acolytes incase any decided to make the foolish choice of trying to get involved.
On the walk back to the shuttle, the squad assumed a square formation with the Acolyte in the centre with the LT take point ahead of the formation to guide it towards the nearby shuttle that we had used to get to the planet. The Acolyte did not resist in any form and was quiet the entire time back.
Stage 2 - The interrogation:
As we landed back on Dromund Kaas at the new Horuset Estate, the Acolyte was escorted to the holding cells and quickly imprisoned without issue, the Acolyte continuing to comply as per the instructions I had given them at the onset of their arrest. The LT put Sergeant Neilo in charge of the interrogation with the first order of reading out the crimes of the Acolyte that had seen them be imprisoned in the first place. Once the Sergeant was finished speaking, I began a line of questioning with the prisoner with the transcript below being an accurate account of what was said.
Sergeant Neilo: "Acolyte Zikarn is arrested for the following suspicions against the Horuset Powerbase and the Sith Empire. Expressing the desire to obtain knowledge about Republic weaponry from the Imperial Soldier's archives. With the reason to 'better defend' against hostiles. This led to the suspicion of Acolyte Zikarn potentially obtaining said weaponry, and therefore arrested on the suspicion of treason. Since there is no evidence of the Acolyte having been out in the field, such weaponry could only have been obtained through outside contacts and therefore falls under the regulation of contraband. The Acolyte is being detained until proven not guilty."
Specialist Harridax: "Acolyte Zikarn, your compliance will mean a quick proving of your innocence if you are as such or a lesser sentence if found guilty. When the Sergeant or any others of the squad ask you question, you will respond quickly and directly. Do you understand?"
Acolyte Zikarn: "Understood."
Specialist Harridax: "Good. Now you have been catalogued as asking about Republic weaponry when under suspicion of holding contrband. Do you confirm that you asked for such Republic weaponry information? For what reason did you ask?"
Acolyte Zikarn: "I asked what kind of weapons they use and who I would have to approach to possibly get permission to learn about the weaponry. I asked for the reason that when i'm joining a war for the first time I want to impress my superiors. More specifically, should we be at a base or have the opportunity to sabotage their equipment I would be able to assist."
Specialist Harridax: "As you are aware, the contraband decrees within the Horuset Powerbase forbid Acolytes to have blasters as possessions. Did you intend to procure a Republic blaster and use this knowledge against either enemy combatants or your peers, in the eyes of the decrees, illegally?"
Acolyte Zikarn: "I am aware of the contraband rules, yes. And I never had any intention of ever obtaining one in the first place. But knowing about the enemies equipment can be a resource. Being able to sabotage or turn the Republic's own weapons against them."
Specialist Harridax: "A blaster is a blaster, Acolyte. Sabotaging one is the same as sabotaging any other. Would you use the acquiring of such information on Republic weaponry as a way to be able to disable or sabotage equipment used by your peers durin the Acolyte Trials as a way to gain an advantage over them?"
Acolyte Zikarn: "No. Said knowledge I only intended on using on the Republic should I be fortuante enough to be taken to the battlefield. I have no intention of wanting to shoot another Acolyte. They are the Dark Lord's property and therefore I cannot and will not aim to kill anyone without specific permission. I I were to kill an Acolyte it would be by my own hands, not by some blaster."
Specialist Harridax: "Acolyte as you are aware, with the move of the Horuset Powerbase into this Estate there is now two places in which an Acolyte can legally store their equipment. One is within the bunks aboard Th'Asidra and the other is within the camp down by the river. Have you claimed any particular places on either the Dreadnought or the Estate? Do you have any stashes outside of those placements that when searched, would reveal that you do not infact possess Republic weaponry?"
Acolyte Zikarn: "I have only been here three times. This being one of them. I was here during the tour and then one more time doing work on a task for Sith Sarias. I have a bunk on Th'Asidra that you are more than welcome to search. I have nothing to hide. The bunk i'm sleeping in is the second from the window on the right side when you look towards the window from the door."
Specialist Harridax: "And finally Acolyte, before I am done with my line of questioning, what missions have you participated in during your time within the Horuset Powerbase?"
Acolyte Zikarn: "Can you be more specific Specialist? You mean tasks in general or where the entirety of the Powerbase have been deployed?"
Specialist Harridax: "Both Acolyte. Lets keep it to contact with outside forces such as the criminal underworld, other factions within the Sith Empire or the Republic military."
Acolyte Zikarn: "I have not been in contact with any. I have only completed tasks where I was on Th'Asidra and then the one time earlier where I was taking notes on places where Sith Sarias could test some of her creatures."
Specialist Harridax: "Sergeant, I think we have enough to make a report to the LT."
Stage 3 - Searching Th'Asidra and Acolyte release:
Myself and Sergeant Neilo both searched the Acolyte bunks for contraband, not just the indicated bunk but those around it and the various nooks and storage units nearby. We found no contraband. After reporting this in to the LT, we were indicated to release the Acolyte but have them equipped with a tracking anklet, to ensure that if they fled for their crimes we would be able to locate them.
Assessment and Recommendations:
Sirs, it is my belief that the Acolyte is not guilty and that the investigation was mishandled from the start. The Acolyte was arrested under suspicion of contraband prematurely and in the future if we believe an Acolyte has contraband but are unaware of where the contraband is, we must see them followed or another Acolyte acting as an informant to show us where it is before we move in for a conclusive arrest that can see the Acolyte rightfully imprisoned. This Acolyte Zikarn appears to be ambitious and insatiable for knowledge and it is my belief that he was merely pursuing knowledge that he believes will be useful for him during his career as a Sith."
Commendations:
"Sergeant Neilo performed well during the unfolding events, managing to stay adaptable enough to keep up with the Acolyte and the changing landscape of the investigation as it formed around us."

War in the Northern Territories
The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!
 |
"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."
((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
