Subject: Reconaissance of the Planet Ch'Hodos in regards to reports of Coordinated Beast attacks on imperial facilities.

Introduction

The aim of this report is to provide chronological accounting of the Primary Objective set by Lord Tokiai to obtain intel on the nature and origin of the beast attacks on Planet Ch'Hodos.

Stage 1 - Landing party, Intel update and Perimeter skirmish

We departed the spire with four members, Apprentice Ronith and Apprentice Black, Acolyte Natelia and myself for the Planet Ch'Hodos, Acolyte Rendvir, Styrdus and much later others ((Raphtul and Vaenra)) would join us at the hangar.  Upon landing, we were greeted by three imperials who had secured the area, scouted and pinpointed a point of interest where the beasts seemingly gather. The beast congregated some distance beyond the LZ, up a staircase on an elevated landmark with ancient sith ruins, at this point Acolyte Natellia excused herself.

Apprentice Ronith took lead of this mission with Apprentice Black deffering the Con, we were to head up the staircases and investigate the ruins. The formation was as follows, the sith Apprentices Ronith and Black taking vanguard with acolytes in support and Apprentice Horuset rearguard with myself armed with a light repeater. On the stairs, we were ambushed from the side by three Sleen, which bore the strange disfigurement resembling hackjob cybernetics, here other acolytes ((Styrdus))left the AO.

I then advanced to midrange, firing in semi-automatic, as the risk of friendly fire was high, while strafing to get a cleaner firing angle on the sleens. On crossing to close range, A Sleen was fully sprayed down. These cybernetic sleens were resilient and one of them could withstand, by my count, six repeater bolts at close range before being finished off by Acolyte Rendvir. In my peripherals, The Vanguard apprentices cut down another sleen, though the last one managed to snatch Apprentice Black ankle in its serrated metal maw. repeater bolts was fired on its exposed flank, Apprentice black cut opened the sleens head before it had a chance to bite down. Apprentice Ronith and Horuset proceeded to scout the ruins, while the acolytes were ordered to stay with Apprentice black as I applied first aid.

Stage 2 - Preliminary scouting, Tactical briefing and Sanctum Assault

We approached the perimeter of the Ruins, Apprentice Horuset identified at its center, two cybernetically augmented Nexu that kneeled to a cloaked figure. Apprentice Ronith laid out the plan to capture this cloaked figure alive, ordered Apprentice horuset to secure the rear exit, the Acolytes Rendvir and Rapthul to position on the left flank and Apprentice Black and myself on the right flank, while he himself would confront the figure.

The ruins provided an abundance of cover and we made our way into positions without detection. Apprentice Ronith would signal to commence the assault and the four pronged approach would converge on the three targets. Our targets was first engaged by myself followed by Apprentice Black, we both drew one of the nexu away from Apprentice Ronith, while Apprentice Horuset engaged from the other end. The nexus were even sturdier than the sleen, continuing their assult despite leaking innards. Apprentice black finished the nexu on our flank, which in its dying throes still attempted to attack us. I then dashed to aid Apprentice Horuset near the rear of the ruins. When the Nexus were pacified, we watched the duel between Apprentice Ronith and the figure, Apprentice Black was recalled to another order of business.

Positioning myself at the figures flank, I waited for a clean shot and fired a pistol stun round at the figure, who unfortunately at the same time endured multiple limb dismemberment from Apprentice Ronith, the combination of which killed him. Attempts of rescucitation was met with failure, and we brought their corpses back for research and returned to the spire for debrief.

Assessment and Thoughts

Sirs, I would ask for your veteran and experienced feeback and opinions on tactics and strategies used here. It is always greatly appreciated when we have inputs from our empire's finest.

The four members of the assembled team were all skilled in their respective fields and the lack of manpower would not necessarily mean failure of the task, given that I was permitted to carry a light repeater by Captain Igneel, we had sufficient fire support and stopping power for large predators. I would have questioned Apprentice Ronith's decision of the initial team formation, delegating a soldier with a repeater as rearguard. Repeaters excels in close range and would be put the squad at risk if they had to support the vanguard from afar. Regardless, seeing how the non-armoured cybernetically augmented Sleens seemed to be able to endure a near Inexplicable amount of bolts from the heavy weapon, the merit of the decision is appreciated in hindsight.
Though if we were to carefully approach the AO, with motion trackers and heat signatures, the Sleen may have been detected long before, and thus engaged at a safer distance. At the time I was unable to do so, as the vanguard had move onwards to be intercepted by the Sleen. The mission itself was not particularly time-sensitive and a more measured, safer albeit more time-consuming approach may have been possible.

In the debrief, Lord Tokiai was largely displeased at the lack of intel that was uncovered, as the target was eliminated and not captured. Then Acolyte Rendvir came forward with his findings, datapad with more detailed intel on the unknown figure, seems Acolyte Rendvir witheld it to stake a claim of his share of the credit and prestige. Its common for siths to claim credit for the work others, so what I saw was likely seen as not an act of insubordination to Apprentice Ronith, but neccessity for survival for them.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
