Diary - Merikh Fyse

#1
Entry One
The flickering image of a bald man littered with slave scars on his face would appear, looking up at the holo-communicator that he had seemed to place on a shelf in the Acolyte dorm. He goes to take a step back, accidentally knocking the side and causing the device to fall straight off. A couple seconds of silence would pass after the crash to the ground, before breaking with a long sigh escaping the lads tired face.

"...Blast it.."

He seems to just leave it on the ground, focusing on the audio primarily.
"First day post salvation. Went well. Living conditions are nicer here, we actually have tents to sleep with bedrolls and a warm fire."
A short pause would ensue, before the young man huffed a bit of air, short of a laugh.
"You should hear the embers crackle and pop during the night time, all the lads on Begeren would be so jealous. Even the man himself, one tooth Terry, would smile at the sight of it. However disgusting that is to imagine."

The young man moves to a sitting position, now on level with the device and his full image flickering back into light, displaying rough features despite his youth. Scars of runic-like symbols flowing up and down his cheeks and lips. Adorning the expression of someone blissfully ignorant of the true cruelty that is involved with his new profression and creed.
"My peers are somewhat nice, albeit tad more stern than my previous. Met one guy, heh, large Chiss he was. Said he didn't have a name so we agreed on just saying "Big Blue" instead. He's a good ally to have if I want to survive. I just hope to not get in anyone's way and become a target, I don't want to be saved from one hell only to thrust myself into another."
"Speaking of trying to survive - an apprentice came to me while training and demanded I spar him. It was a lot more...frightening than I imagined, fighting someone properly that is. Ended up losing my footing and falling flat on my butt, scurrying towards the window. For a moment there I thought he was going to strike me with his laser sword.."

His eyes seem to lower, whether from shame or contemplation is hard to tell.
"Truth be told I couldn't give a frogdogs ass about all this. It's only value to me is that I no longer have to feel the crack of a whip on my back..and have to eat scolding soup from my karkin hands because "we worms didn't deserve cutlery or bowls." Though I fear it's not enough, I need to figure out how this is going to pan out. Else I'll die here sooner than there."
Entry One - End

Entry Two
Visage appears again - face...strangely drowsy. Though as the full image comes to life it shows the same Acolyte on a medbay bed, hooked up on morphine and other drugs.
"Ayy...what's..up...myself in-..the future me. It's me...Merikh.
The lads words were slurred, clearly not himself.
"So I met a dumb dumb apprentice...who..wait...what'd he do again..
After a short lived few seconds one of the medbay staff runs to the side of the bed, snatching the device off and mumbling some incoherent words of scolding to the Acolyte.
Entry Two - End

Entry Three
Merikh's face flickers to life once more, though his expression seemed much more dead. Akin to that of someone having experienced something traumatic and shutting down. Though he was not completely gone just yet.
"It...didn't quite work."
"After my poor display with the Apprentice in our first spar...I thought I could go train...get better. Come closer to him. I read more and more on the form...even some brilliant work from a past acolyte named Jaxen Varn. Truly a beautiful mind. But nevertheless, it all came to naught."

The mans expression turns sour, slowly forming a frown that creases the scars on his face.
"Why. Why did he take it. There was a moment in the fight it felt...so natural. All my fears and hesitation disappeared, my swings were true. Then I went to reach out..and he took it. Why!? I didn't do anything wrong! I thought I escaped the unjust punishments of slavery. Have I done nothing but put myself in more chains, disguised as freedom.
He raises his right arm bluntly, revealing what is now a stump from the forearm down. Skin folding into itself from cauterization.
"It was just a spar! Like last time, he even offered it! That disgusting Womp-rat of a man. If only I could take his without reason, show him how it feels! The pain! The throbbing and burning! I want to see his blasted head on a spike! Painted red like that bastard's hair. One day-"
He seems to look away and duck his head, worrying he might've been too loud. He scowls and uses his free hand to click the side of the device, his imagine instantly disappearing.
Entry Three - End

Entry Four
His presence comes to life once more, visibly more calm now having come to terms with the situation a bit more. The lad was crouched down, arms folded around his knees.
"Finally been excused from the medbay..- got a new forearm too. Some shabby cybernetics strung together for the Acolytes.
He raises his right arm, showing it for a brief second with a roll of his eyes.
"Better than nothing."
"It's strange...getting used to the new nerves connecting and everything is a task in of itself. Especially with the added strength, control is delicate. The smashed cup in the dorms is a testament to that. But I'll get it...within time. If only to repay that slimeball of an Apprentice one day."

"He wiggles his butt a little, getting a bit more comfy and releasing a sigh"
"There was something strange in the medbay report...one of the Neophyte's who basically runs the place said she had kept my forearm. Which- I guess is nice. But I don't see why. There's no way you can actually perform that kind of a feat with the dark side. Reattaching it, I mean. Surely she mistyped or something. Too much Caf on the afternoon perhaps. I'll ask her about it later...just for the off-chance that it's true...how amazing that would be."
"To even think the force could do something like that with control.."

Entry Four - End

Entry Five
The bald mans figure would flicker to life, taking a couple steps back and looking down at the camera - arms crossed.
"It's been a while. As you can see I got my arm back, courtesy of Neophyte Temekel, I debt I still owe."
"I've furthermore managed to survive the trials. They were..."

Merikh seems to glance away, the scars on his face creasing as he grimaced.
"Horrifying. Betrayed, stabbed, flung- every trial. EVERY ONE, I was left bleeding and near the end of my new life. But...but they're over now. It's done. And I move onto the next step, finding a master. In which proves the even more challenging endeavor. Albeit with the greatest reward, as Neophyte Temekel has allowed me an opportunity to remove the...literal and metaphorical scars of my past life. To remove the scars that marked me as slave, slapped on my face. I must prove to her that I've "Broke my chains" or whatever that means by finding a master. I trust I shall soon discover the meaning of these cryptic sayings the Sith like to spout."

He moves his hand towards the camera
"Force serve"
With that, his presence disappears.

Entry Six
Once again, a bald man once again flickered to life on the holoprojector. This time, sat down in a relatively composed manner; drumming his fingers on the table.

"I've had...a bit of an epiphany."
"Last night I woke up in a cold sweat. Having such...strange dreams. I saw my body, cast aside and seemingly lifeless. Still wearing my Acolyte garments. Unable to get the image out my mind, I went for a small walk hoping it cleared my head, not wishing to disturb the others in their tents."
"It's no coincidence...no- there's no way. It's a message from the force, that I need to kick myself into gear. I'm dilly dallying blast it, falling behind. So many of my previous brethren already taken by masters and if I don't find a position in this powerbase soon I will be killed."

The mans face grimaced, clearly a bit more on edge as he began fiddling with his hands.

"I spent...I spent the night and morning thinking more, going over certain things in the archives. Trying to make a plan, something I can go on. I think I might have a good start. Though impressing him enough to wish me as a master will be difficult.."
"Nevertheless, I'll try picking up the pace. Hopefully setting myself on a path that I surprisingly might not totally hate."
"Force Serve."

Merikh's hand reached towards the holo, disappearing soon after.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
