[IC] Vaenra Ahset Horuset's flight training logs.

#1
Flight log Records.

Pilot trainee’s name: Vaenra Ahset Horuset
Unit responsible for training: FL1G6T
Cadet Reana Simmons
Notes about the trainee: She is a Sith - handle with moderate respect. She has flown a shuttle before so one can skip basic training, but she has never flown anything fast (fighter - class). (Recommendation: lock some of the higher speeds on the ship for the sake of preserving the property of the House.) She is a Horuset.

Log #1

The subject nearly turned over in the hangar, and required evac with the help of on-board personnel. The ship was not damaged and neither was the hangar, however this delayed some scheduled flights from hangar A2. After some recovery time the subject has successfully executed the take off and landing  sequences. On orders from Captain Graham, the subject was sent to practice this further in a VR environment so her mistakes cannot delay the work of our personnel.

Log #2

The subject have improved within the last two days. She managed to take off and execute basic flight maneuvers.. It appears that she handles the ship relatively well, however she often oversteers and cannot seem to handle the fighter’s speed all that well, which is expected. She was given more sequences to practice in order to help her cope with the speed difference between a shuttle and a ship.

Log #3

The Subject has improved her handling in comparison to the last session, however there is a concern that she has grown bold very quickly. She nearly crashed the ship into another training pilot during the last lesson and was immediately called back to the hangar where Captain Graham has placed her under the supervision of one of the cadets who volunteered which will overlook her training. This is the last long that Unit FL1G6T will submit for the near future.

*The training unit’s name is replaced to Cadet Reana.*

Log #4

Neophyte Vaenra is making decent progress, but it is very hard to deal with her constant strive to show how much she has learned. However, she seems to be learning rather quickly, and given her rapid progress, I’ve decided to unlock the last two speed settings for her. I will fly besides her in an interceptor to ensure safety..

Log #5

The Neophyte did something unexpected today. She heeded my advice, and followed my orders to the letter when she was reaching the maximum speed of her ship, as if she was a lot more relaxed. Today’s flight session finally made me think that I was glad to take this extra work.

Log #6

The Neophyte is reaching the point I would call “flight worthy”. She can handle turns and basic maneuvers, however she is not ready for standard military maneuvers would not last a second in a fight. That will be the next thing on the agenda but for now, she may be allowed to practice alone on the ship, provided she brings it back unharmed. She shall receive further tutoring once the clearance is given from above.

Log #7

By Orders from Captain Graham, I tailed the Neophyte when she thought she was training alone, while I was piloting a scouting ship for the sake of seeing how well she performs and whether or not there’s something I’ve missed during her training. There’s two things I need to point out here: first, she needs to work on maneuvers because she knows only a few basic ones. Once I observed her for long enough, I pretended I was ambushing her, and I fired a few blank shots. She panicked and turned all over the place, however I easily managed to remain on her tail for a solid five minutes before I contacted her. She seemed… angry.

Log #8

Today I’ve went over the basics of a barrel roll, the Neophyte handles high G-s a lot better than some of our pilots, curious. Perhaps something to do with her being a Pureblood? Or Force sensitive? Hard to tell, at any rate, she needs to work on it, so now I’ll make sure to tail her and use the same tactic as before, now with her knowing it’s me.

Log #9

The Neophyte is learning rather quickly, that said, her reaction times could use some improvement. At any rate, she is making solid progress with the barrel roll, and seems to have taken a liking to doing Immelman turns as well. Strange, I have not taught her that one, and admittedly? She caught me off-guard with it, she almost got on my tail with that.

*A request for further and more combat oriented training is sent to the high command from Vaenra.*

*Clearance given for Simulation based combat training.*

Log #10

The Neophyte has joined the currently trained cadets in simulation based training, understandably, the cadets seemed very nervous when they saw that a Sith is joining them. Once they began, the Neophyte started out rather well, and followed orders without any apparent issues. However once she was told to be on the end of the formation she hesitated, because of her  desire of being in the spotlight.

Log #11

Today I gave the Neophyte a choice in the convergence distance for the blasters on her ‘ship’ within the simulation. She did as I expected, she asked for the largest possible distance. During the simulations when she even managed to hit something it was usually with only a singular set of the available laser cannons. So to show her, why five-hundred to six-hundred is most often used, I have flown against her. While she often missed me because I just turned onto my side, I had no issue hitting her ship, despite her attempts at turning away and pulling maneuvers. However, after that she did something unusual, she admitted being wrong. Seems her ego is starting to subside as she begins to understand why following orders to the letter is paramount.

Log #12

The Neophyte came to me with a scenario in mind. After looking it over it seemed very specific, to say the least, however I saw no reason to decline it. The scenario was a chase made by a randomized number of ships with randomized qualities. I made sure to slip in at least two state-of-the art ships without her knowing however. The scenario’s aim was for the Neophyte to lose or defeat her opponents within an asteroid field, or survive as long as she could within open space. Then last but not least, losing them within the atmosphere of a jungle planet. She performed adequately on the first part, however the last two still have room for improvement.

Log #13

The Neophyte has been doing the same simulation over and over, a quick peek at the number gives ten tries for each scenario thus far. She did notably improve given the readings from the telemetry data of these simulations. I suspect it has something to do with a mission she is going to partake in. It isn’t my place to  question her, for now I had to tell her to take a break. She seemed exhausted by the end of the day, yet she still pushed for it, which shows tenacity, a quality which will aid in her pursuit.

Log #14

The Neophyte has been getting more and more comfortable with taking orders when it comes to flying in formations and handling actual fighting scenarios. Her aim also improved by 39,93% according to the telemetry data, placing her in the upper 10% of pilots currently in training within this batch of cadets.

Log #15

Today we did something different - we pitted the cadets and the Neophyte against another group, to foster competitiveness, and I made sure to put the Neophyte as second in command, due to her having some good qualities as a leader, yet I find her skills in piloting and risk assessment rather lacking. Thus, I wanted her to be under the command of someone that is more experienced on these matters. The simulation went surprisingly well. The Neophyte’s group faced much better pilots, the Neophyte and three other cadets out of a group of 12 remained against 10 of the other group, however once the Neophyte had to take over in order to ensure success, she did remarkably well. She followed her predecessor’s example well, and through sheer luck or divine intervention, she managed to keep herself from getting shot to shreds whilst baiting the enemy leader and she strung him out for her comrades to shoot whilst they were frantically trying to catch her.

She learned the maneuvers I taught her rather well, and more. I am fairly impressed with her, even if in the end she was overwhelmed 4 to 1 and shot down eventually. I would recommend passing her to a more experienced tutor and allowing her to take actual ships and practice the same thing with the senior cadets.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
