Mission Report: Scouting Group 2

#1
Mission: Scouting North of Valadad City
Success: TBD

Mission Report

Upon dismounting our speeders, Corporal Naveil led the team a long walk up the mountain. As we walked, we found a single dead scout, who had no devices on his person, though he had clearly been dead for a while.

We continued on, eventually reaching a wide open space. There, I sensed a large number of people, anticipation - perhaps even excitement - in the air. As I reached the Corporal’s position, I saw exactly this. Hundreds upon hundreds of Republic troops, perhaps an entire battalion, clearly preparing for a large scale fight. They had AA weaponry, armoured vehicles, artillery, bunkers and barricades… Clearly anticipating a large assault. Corporal Naveil attempted to call this in, and I attempted to send an emergency call to Sith Tarimra, but we found that all signals were being scrambled.

At this point, I told both the Imperials that we needed to leave and fast. They agreed and we began to make our way back to base. I began sensing a dangerous presence, closing in, with the intent to kill. At this point, I told both Imperials to run as if their lives depended on it, because they did. They complied, and we continued at a sprint down towards Valadad City.
We then were followed briefly by a squad of Republic fighters, in blue-on-white armour, while the leader - a large woman - told her men to hold. Not trusting this, I continued my retreat. We reached a point of relative cover, at which point we tried our communicators once more, with no luck. Corporal Naveil was shot with some kind of round to his helmet, leaving him - probably - concussed. I continued down the hill, telling the Private to follow and not look back, running until I was out of range to send a distress call. My intention was to send a distress call and attempt to rescue both Imperials upon the arrival of support.

My holocom was shot out of my hand, but I recovered the damaged device and continued, until I managed to send a distress message from my datapad to Sith Tarimra, who made his way to my location immediately. Within the hour that we awaited his arrival, I made my way back towards the Imperials, attempting to find a way out without loss of resources. I was shot in the leg, and landed beside the pair. At this point, the squad leader told us that we would die if we did not surrender. I told both Imperials to run, and made my way down the hill once more, telling both of them to never surrender. I am many things, but I will never surrender to the Republic scum for as long as I am alive. I digress, however. What resulted then was me receiving a close range slugthrower shot through my shoulder, which I managed to bandage once I landed in cover. I heard from my position, where the Republic seem to have assumed I was dead, Corporal Naveil surrender, willingly. In addition to this, Private Haldeen then followed suit, willingly surrendering.

While I then remained on the ground, stable but in need of immediate medical attention, Sith Tarimra arrived. I informed him via telepathy of what had happened, and how close by the battalion of troops were. He made the decision, I assume, to pick me up and leave as swiftly as he’d arrived. I received my medical attention, then. I would not have made it out of there alive without his intervention.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
