The Hundred-Year Darkness
This impactful event was also known as the Great Second Schism. The First was based on a large battle between Jedi and other Jedi who refused to continue the Light path. The Second Schism started with a small group of Jedi Knights who went beyond the limits of the Force, at least the limits of the Light Side of the Force, and they started to experiment. The deeper in the Force this group went into, the more they realised that the Force could be bent to give power.
This group managed to learn new skills, on which they tested it on other living beings, and with it, they created new beasts and species. The group was hypnotised at the notion and possible truth that the Force powers they specifically wielded could bring death and restore life on dead worlds.
It was only natural that the Jedi did not approve of such dark arts, and this group could not care less of what their teachers and peers thought of them. The group went rogue, refusing to follow the Jedi and their ways as they felt the Dark connection and desired more.
The group also had a different goal to which they sought to bring corruption and weakness to the Jedi Order by seeking any in the Jedi ranks to join them and learn beyond what they have been taught. The group promised great power, endless life, freedom to roam and conquer the galaxy; anything they could do to add to their numbers against the Jedi.
However, the odds were against this rogue group, and so they were exiled, stripped of their Jedi titles and sent away from Tython. This exiled group refused to let the Jedi have the last say, to have this ‘victory’. Therefore the Exiles came together and plotted a war.
The Exiles grew their knowledge and experience with the Dark Side of the Force and used it to bend to their will, to give them an advantage or two that the Jedi would never expect. The Exiles created a dark army of monstrous abominations. With this new, dark, fear-invoking army, the Exiles thought they would gain the upper hand. However, there was a flaw. The creatures may have not been as strong as the Exiles thought due to the Jedi overwhelming the creatures with a sense of ease.
The Jedi, after another ‘victory’, told the exiles to stand down, but the Exiles refused. The battles for the first half of the year were deadly encounters between the two factions.
As months passed, the Exiles, now dawning the name of Dark Jedi, felt deflated and defeated as the Jedi continued to overwhelm them. They still refused to surrender, even though they lost many in this war effort. In a desperate attempt to find their own victory, they came together, shared and poured their power to create a truly powerful, strong and feared creature, the Leviathan. The description and power of this beast is best to be elaborated by either the Sith Alchemist or Beastmaster or both.
The Jedi and their forces were struck down into their core and felt true fear at the presence of the glorious creature. And it was here that the Dark Jedi and their army found their morale and pushed back against the Jedi with the Leviathan laying havoc on the enemy. Even with this determined push from the Dark Jedi, they still found themselves overpowered by the Jedi and they had to flee and regroup on Corbos.
Corbos was and still is known as the last stand of the Dark Jedi, the world where the Hundred-Year Darkness ended. With continuous determination to gain just a strong victory, the Dark Jedi grew their dark beast army, strove to create more Leviathans, looking for any means to stand up and fight against their foes. However, it was another defeat. The war came with great cost on both sides but it was the Dark Jedi that lost, and with defeat after defeat, they realised that they had no other choice, but to surrender…
The Dark Jedi were once again stripped of power, of their weapons and they had to obey the Republic. Some wanted public execution for their acts of war, but the Jedi leaders showed mercy and decided to have the Dark Jedi once again exiled into the unknown space, with the hope that this action would not spark another war.
The Dark Jedi, once again known as the Exiles had no choice but to follow the new orders of justice. They were sent out into the galaxy, and soon found an uncharted world. And this world was Korriban.
